My daughter Valerie was finally back from staying at my moms in Arizona. I needed time to myself and she had already started school so I just let her stay. My baby is getting so big, makes me sad because that means I'm getting older.
We were on our way to Rays house because he hasn't seen Valerie since we came.
"Mommy where we going again" she said with her high pitched voice
"We going to uncle Rays house baby, remember him" I replied
"Yeah" she short answered
When it comes to me being a mom, I definitely keep it one hunned. My baby knows who her daddy is and knows who uncle Ray is, they take two different places in her life and I'm okay with it. She comes first no matter what
We finally reached Rays house. I took Valerie out of the car, and we both skipped up to his door step.
I rang the door bell 3 times no one answered. I didn't tell Ray I was coming because I wanted it to be a surprise that he's seeing Valerie.
"Open up!" Valerie screamed
We banged on the door together as a team. It wasn't like Ray to not open the door. And he was definitely home,All his cars were there.
"Yah-yah" he said finally opening the door "Loren" he nervously said "what you doing here baby"
"I wanted Valerie to come see you silly" I chuckled trying to get in the house. Ray put his arm out blocking my way
"Val.. Val!" He said enthusiastically the second time. He picked her up and gave her a kiss
"Hiii uncle Ray" she said
"Hey can we come in" I asked confused
"Umm yeah let me fix up for one sec-" he said shutting the door
I thought Ray was just being annoying not letting us in, but maybe he wanted Valerie to think he was neat. Because trust me Ray could be a slob.
He actually let us in after, we went to one of his family rooms and sat on the couch. Valerie went over to sit on his lap. The amount of love my child has for this man is speechless and I can't image ever trying to replace him.
"How was it staying at your grandmas house Val?"
"It was fun" she replied
"How was it going to school, you started kindergarten right?"
"Yeah, I made a bunch of new friends and a bunch of new things I learned and I took naps and I colored and-and a bunch of teachers think Im a cutie" she giggled
Valerie was so conceited, she definitely got that from my side of the family.
"But now that your back here, your gonna continue school here. And I'm gonna work and-" I started to say
"You gonna start working? Since when did you decide to do that ma. I told you I gotchu Loren" Ray implied
"Uh no Ray I'm not gonna rely on you for money. I'm a successful woman,everything me and my child have I worked for" I stated cholericly
Ray laughed "Calm down, im not trying to insult you babe I'm just saying if you need anything Ima always be here for you and Val"
