5 Years Later

Loren's P.O.V

I'm Loren I'm 26, 5'5 and living life like the Queen I am. I live with my bundle of joy Valerie. One thing ima let you know now is that I don't take shit from no muthafucker. If a bitch wants to swing, trust and believe I'll be more than ready. But that was the old me. Since it's just been me and Valerie I've been taking it easy. I just wanna focus on raising my daughter into everything I wish I was when I was a kid.
Growing up I didn't have no father figure there with me, and neither did Valerie. It makes me sad, but it isn't my fault. Valerie's dad King was a drug lord who was shot the night before she was born. She still sees that side of the family though so that's good.

Today since it was a beautiful day in Palm Springs California and I wasn't working. Valerie and I were going out for lunch at her favorite restaurant
McDonalds.

I wore some ripped jeans and a jean long sleeved blouse . Valerie wore her blue skirt and blue and white stripped top.
I know! A little to over dressed for McD. I'll never take my daughter anywhere looking dusty. And Valerie loved that place and I just want to make my daughter happy.

"Mommy" Valerie yelled from upstairs
"Yes baby?"
"When are we going?" She asked
"Now babe, Come downstairs " I replied

She came downstairs and put on her jacket
"I can't wait to play in the playground and eat some chicken nuggets" she said rapidly zippering her jacket.
"Okay baby" I chuckled.
I got my purse and keys and we were out the door.

When we got to McDonald's we had to wait in line.
I got a call from my Bestfriend Jennifer so I let Valerie stay in line.
Phone convo:
Me: Jenn?
J: Loren where are you
Me: at McDonald's with Val, why?
J: I was abouts to bring Chelsea over
Me: y'all could still come we just ordering our food then we'll leave

I looked over at the line and I didn't see Valerie anymore.
Me: Jenn I'll call you when we leaving
I ended the call at that point and went over to the line.

"Mommy" Valerie tucked on my shirt standing in the back of the line
"Valerie what are you doing, you were all the way up there" I said to her
"They cut me" she pointed at this woman
I went over to her "excuse me"
"Excuse me!" I semi-yelled
Like this woman was tone deaf or something
"Excuse me!!"
"What?" The lady replied with an attitude
"My daughter was standing here, you cut her" I said politely
"Well to bad she stepped out of line" she said
I raised an eyebrow "she's 5, and you like 55, don't be childish" I stated even though she looked like she was 46
She turned and looked at me "excuse me lady. I'm not trying to argue about this"
"Then move, and there won't be a problem" I crossed my arms
She continue to stand there like she didn't hear what I said
"We in public, ima be calm, ima be calm" I said to myself going to the back

**************

It was finally our turn
"What can I get you ma'am" the man asked me
"I'm can I get a kids meal for my daughter-"
"Mommy!" She interrupted me crossing her hands frowning. It was obviously because I ordered a kids meal for her. When Valerie came to McDonald's she turns into one of the big kids

"Okay forget that, can I get 10 piece chicken nuggets, with small fries and a small cup" I said
"Okay will that be all?" The man asked
"Yes" I handed him my credit card

When we got our food we went to sit down.
Valerie finally finished munching down on the chicken nuggets and went to play in the play ground with the other kids.

I stayed on my phone talking to Jennifer when I was interrupted by the sound of a bunch of girls.
I looked over my shoulder to see this man walking in with 5 girls following him
"Order anything you want, it's on me" he said
The girls cheered

"Yo Jennifer, I gotta go its noisy up in here" I said hanging up the phone

The crowd of girls and the man came and sat in the area I was sitting in. Because I'm queen of Nosey town I had to sit there and listen to what was going on.

After listening for 10 minutes
Valerie came to me.
"Mommy I wanna go" she wined
"Okay baby, sit down" I said not paying any attention to her
I continue watching the group of girls. It was just interesting to see a bunch of stupid girls go gaga for some boy.
"Mommy!!!" Valerie screamed
"Val stop!" I replied annoyed
I took my purse and got up.

"Don't be screaming like that Valerie" I said angrily dumping into someone
"I'm sorry" the person said
"It's okay" I replied not paying attention
I took Valerie's hand and we existed McDonald's

When we got home Jennifer and her daughter Chelsea were waiting at our door step.
"Wtf you doing here?" I laughed
"I told you I was coming, didn't I?" She replied
"Girl.... Hii Chelsea" I waved at her
I took out my keys and opened the door.

"Go to your room Valerie take Chelsea with you!" I yelled

"What's wrong with Val?" Jenn asked
"She was acting up at McDonald's.. I was like legit spying on these group of girls and their pip daddy I guess " I chuckled
"You didn't take a picture!" Jennifer laughed
"I didn't want them to see me dummy"

It was bed time and I put Valerie to sleep. I took my nightly shower and put on my nightgown. My phone rang from my bedside table.

Phone convo:
???:HELLO
Me:Who is this?
???:LOREN YOU AINT GOT CALLER ID
My voice lowered in disappointment
Me: oooh Mia its you
Mia: yes it's me, Loren where my grand baby at? Why dont you bring her over anymore
Me: oh.....well- I stopped working so she just be staying home with me since schools out
Mia: bring my grandbaby Loren!
Me: alright Mia, Goodnight

End of Phone Convo:

Mia was Valerie's dads mom. Since he died they be still trying to see her and shit. Like I'm not trying to take her away from them or anything but, when there son King died they wanted nothing to do with me.
It's like since there son is gone, they taking Valerie to replace him sometimes and leaving me out.
Ion really care though as long as Valerie is happy I'm happy.
