Twenty-Three

Todays my last day here in Ireland with Pops and the guys. Today I plan on talking to Derek about what happened on my first night here and about testifying. I get out of the shower and dress in above the ankle length baggy jeans with a black long sleeve crop top and converse on my feet. I head downstairs walking into the kitchen where Derek and Pops are, Derek and I make eye contact and he stands up.

"I'm going out" He says, Pops looks confused
"Derek" I say, he walks past me
"I'll be back Pops" I say turning to go after him, I close the door as we are now outside
"Derek" I say, he continues walking
"Derek!" I yell, he stops and turns around, I see Joe and the guards watching so I do the hand gesture to tell them to move along, give us privacy and they do.

"What?" He asks
"Can we please talk? I hate not talking to you, you've been so distant since I told you what I told you" I say
"Well fuck I'm sorry I'm not okay with the fact you, the girl I have feelings for, may be pregnant with that guys child" He says
"Derek, I told you I love Jason, I'm in love with that man. He's who I see myself marrying one day, you need to let go. There are so many girls that swoon over you, many that would be great for you, theres one girl out there that is meant for you. Shes out there so you need to let go whatever it is you feel for me and find her" I say

"I wish that girl was you" He says, I shake my head
"I'm nothing compared to your girl, she's going to be one heck of a girl. I know it" I say, he sighs
"I'm sorry for being so distant" He says, I smile
"It's okay, todays my last day you can still make up for it" I say softly pushing his shoulder making him crack a smile

"God I really wish you were my girl" He says, I roll my eyes
"Shut up and take me somewhere" I say
"Alright alright, where should we go? Let me think" He says as he rubs the back of his neck
"Bowling?" He asks, I shrug nodding
"Okay, I'm down" I say

"Let me go get the car keys then" He says
"I have a car on standby, my guys can drive us" I say, he looks over at Joe and my guards
"Oh yeah, I forget you're the Princess" He says, I shrug
"Good" I say as I hook my arm through his and we walk over to Joe

"Miley" Joe says
"We want to go bowling" I say, he nods
"Okay, hop in" He says opening the door for us then shuts it after Derek gets in
"Thirsty princess?" The driver, Dave, asks
"Are you Derek?" I ask, he shakes his head
"No thanks Dave" I say smiling, he nods as Joe buckles up then we drive off

"So this is part of your life" Derek says looking at Dave and Joe then at the car behind us and in front
"Yeah pretty much, being watched every second of every day. If its not by my guards here it's by paparazzi which means the world" I say, he nods
"Must be tough. You know I always thought people like you had it easy" He says making me raise a brow
"Why?" I ask

"Because you were born wealthy, born with a good family and support left and right" He says
"What changed your mind?" I ask, he looks at me
"You. Seeing how you struggle behind the scenes made me realize, being born in wealth and all that crap doesn't mean life is easy" He says

"So, I've been meaning to ask you something" I say as Derek takes a bite out of his pizza, we've taken a break from the game to eat and I decided since we've been having fun that it's the right time to ask him what I have been wanting to since I arrived.

"What's up?" He asks with a mouthful of pizza
"I know this is stupid to ask because why would you want to do it but I'm asking anyways," I pause looking at him, "would you be willing to testify for Jason?" I ask, he stops chewing and looks at me. He swallows and sits up straighter licking his lips, he leans back not breaking eye contact as he wipes his mouth with the napkin then tosses it on the table.

"What?" He asks, I sigh
"I know you don't like him, I know this is a long shot I just, I need someone that doesn't like him to testify in his honor that way they'd see even a person who doesn't like him thinks he deserves a second chance. That he can change. I understand if you don't want to but just think about it? The court date is in a little over a week from now. Please just think about it" I say then continue eating pizza, he is silent and watching me but I ignore his stare and enjoy this pizza.

"Where have you two been?" Chris asks as we walk through the front door
"Bowling" Derek says
"Without me! Rude!" Chris yells making me giggle
"Well, what will we do to make up for it?" I ask, he shrugs
"I heard there was a carnival in town, we can go there" He says, I smile

"Hell yes! I love carnivals!!" I say
"Alright then lets tell everyone and we'll leave at seven" He says, I nod then my phone rings just as he heads upstairs leaving me alone. I look at the screen with furrowed brows at the unknown number but answer

"Hello" I say
"Baby" Jason's voice makes my heart skip a beat
"Jason" I say smiling walking into the living room
"How are you baby girl" He says, I sit down sighing
"I'm good, nervous as the day gets closer" I say
"Don't be nervous, everything will turn out okay. God listens and he will deliver" He says, I smile
"You never talk like this" I say

"I know, recently I've been attending a group. A Christian group just to listen in and it's helped me mentally and spiritually a lot" He says
"That's good, I'm so happy to hear that" I say
"So, how's it been in Ireland with Pops?" He asks
"It's been good, we've had lots of fun. We're going to a carnival tonight" I say

"That's good, have fun babe" He says
"Thanks Jason. I missed your voice" I say
"I've been missing yours too but I've been busy thinking and praying believe it or not" He says
"They have to shorten your sentence now for sure, you are changing for the better. I pray they see that" I say
"I love you" He says
"I love you more" I say

A/N: Happy Friday loves!

First off, I'm so so sorry for not updating in FOREVER!! I had midterms, then went to visit family in Mexico.. all in all it was a busy month for me (mentally, I rarely go out lol)

But I finally had the time and my brain finally relaxed enough for me to write. I promise I'm going to start updating like I used to!
