Twenty-Two

Its a free-for-all game and even Pops is playing! I am currently hiding up high on the second floor so I can have a view of almost the whole place but its dark so not much to see but the neon lights that fill the place give me a little light. I walk across a bridge still crouched over as I hear a ding go off signaling someone is out of the game. I lean against a wall looking around then spot Jamie coming up the stairs, I aim and shoot his vest the laser hitting right where it needs to making the ding go off and he curses looking around but I hide again as he goes back down.

I look over then go to the stairs slowly walking down as two dings go off leaving four here, I walk around and as I turn a corner I see Thomas, I quickly shoot his back and he curses loudly making me hold back a giggle as I take cover so he wont see me
"I know it was you Miles" He calls out, I peak over to see him walking towards the exit

"Two more to go" I whisper walking the opposite way, I stop in my tracks as a ding goes off
"One more to go now" I say to myself, I see stairs and I decide to go up so I can have some advantage. I quickly but quietly make my way over and up, I hold the gun up ready to shoot when necessary then I'm pulled and pushed against the wall making me groan as the gun falls from my hands, I open my eyes to see Derek smirking

"I knew we'd be the last ones" He whispers, I can feel my heart beating faster than it already was from how close we are to each other
"Shoot me already" I say, he shakes his head
"The longer we take, the more time I have to be alone with you" He says, Jasons text comes to mind
"I can't be alone with you, I have Jason" I say

"Why can't you be alone with me though huh? Because you feel something, that's why, stop denying it" He says, as he holds me by the wrists bringing my arms up and interlocking our fingers together, I gulp
"Derek, yes I feel something but just love as a friend. I love Jason, you have to let whatever you feel towards me go" I say, he shakes his head

"I cant" He whispers as his nose touched mine and my breathe hitches
"You need to, it's not healthy, it's not going to happen either" I whisper
"Why not? You can easily just forget him, I can help you forget him and have you fall for me" He says, I shake my head forcing his hands out of mines and pushing him an arms length away
"Derek, that's not possible! Please understand that, please" I say
"Why not though? Tell me and I'll try, give me a good fucking reason" He says

"I might be pregnant with his child" I say quickly, his eyes widen slightly as they go down to my stomach then back up to my eyes. I see his adams apple move up then down as he gulps
"What?" He asks, I run my hand through my hair then over my face
"The only other person that knows is Danielle, I'm not sure yet but I'll find out soon. You cant tell anyone" I say, he licks his lips

"Please, not until I'm sure" I say, he nods silently making me let out a sigh of relief then he lifts his laser gun and shoots himself, the ding sounding and the lights turning on
"I really wish this was a real gun right now" He says before turning around and going downstairs to the exit where the rest should be. I sigh shutting my eyes then looking up at the ceiling

"Jack, I really wish you were here to help me deal with this" I whisper then I go the way Derek went. Once I am out Pops and everyone cheer
"You won! Why the long face?" Chris asks, I smile but it doesnt reach my eyes
"I'm just hungry, all that ass whooping has me starving" I say making them laugh, all but Derek

"Alright, we'll go to a restaurant near by" Pops says, I nod as we give back the equipment then head out but my phone rings before I get in the van
"I'll be a minute" I tell them as I see its my Grandma
"Hey Grandma, whats up?" I ask walking a few feet away from everyone, I spot Joe in a car not too far away making me roll my eyes seeing he didn't listen to me

"Oh nothing honey, I just miss you so much! How are you?" She asks, I smile
"I'm great, you? Hows Kate and my nephew?" I ask
"I'm doing fine, they're good as well. Your Uncles have been working nonstop, they miss you as well you know" She says, I sigh
"I miss all of you as well, I'll drop by soon, after the upcoming court day of Jasons case" I say
"Good, you have been gone far too long" She says making me giggle
"I know, well I have to go grandma. I'll call you soon, love you" I say
"Okay Miley, love you too" She says then I hang up walking back to the car and I sit shot gun this time

"Who was it?" Pops asks as he starts driving
"My grandma" I say
"The queen, god I forget you're royalty" Josh says making me laugh a little
"Good, around you guys I don't want to be treated like royalty but like a normal girl" I say, I see Pops smile
"You're much more than a normal girl, you're family" He says making me smile widely

A/N: First of all sorry for not updating last week, I was unmotivated and my minds still wrapping itself around the fact that I'm in college now (community college but same thing as a uni/csu/uc)
