Well, hope you like the chapter and hope you and your families have a very safe and happy Christmas, love y'all :)

-Sasha-

I was wrong earlier when Justin told me that Daniel was here. I told him that ‘it’s not like we’ll bump into him.’ But surely enough there was Daniel, pushing max on one of his ski’s down the kiddie slope.

“We could just go somewhere else...” I mumbled.

Justin shook his head. “It’s far too dangerous on the other slopes.

“Please Justin?” I pouted my lip.

“No, what if-” I cut him off.

“Don’t say what if, let’s just go. Please? It will make me happier and that’s what you’ve been trying to do...”

I eventually bribed Justin into letting me go to another slope. Sure it was dangerous but Justin normally liked to take risks. We took a risk keeping this baby, so one more risk couldn’t hurt.

Justin placed a garbage bag a little up the hill and like the other day I sat between his legs and he pushed us off. This hill was a little steeper but we weren’t as high as the kiddie slope so it was okay. It took my mind of things, I felt happy again.

Justin was worried at first but soon enough he was enjoying it as much as me. Justin leant down and kissed my stomach causing me to giggle. I felt the baby kick and my eyes widened, had it felt Justin’s kiss?

“They baby kicked.”

“Because baby loves daddy too.” he smirked playfully.

Justin walked away once we were back at the top and explained that he wanted me to go down myself so that he could film me and the baby. I pushed myself off this time once he yelled out that he had clicked record. The icy air hit my face once again as I happily slid down the hill. Justin chuckled and stopped recording, sliding the phone into his pocket as I started to get up.

It was beginning to become a difficult task to get up now that my stomach has gotten a lot bigger. I heard a faint noise and Justin’s eyes widened, looking at something up the hill. It must have been closer then I realised as I heard a yell by a stranger.

“Look out!”

But I couldn’t move in time and I felt the stranger hit me, toppling us both over. He cursed under his breath and stood up, letting out a sigh of relief that he wasn’t hurt. He extended his arm for me and helped me to my feet. His eyes wandered to my stomach and they widened, realising he had just hit a pregnant teen.

I stretched out my arms and legs, checking for any sign of pain. I was okay, nothing was hurt on either of us.

“Are you okay? I’m terribly sorry.”

“I’m fine.”

“What on earth are you both doing mucking around on the slopes?” he frowned, slipping off his snow gloves and pointing to the hill behind him.

I didn’t answer; instead I stayed lost in my thoughts. I felt terrible, Justin had been right and he was going to be angry with me. It was dangerous here and I got hurt, just like he had said.

“Try and stay out of the snow, you need to make sure you don’t lose your baby.” he warned, walking away with his snowboard tucked under his arm.

My hands dropped to my stomach and I looked down. That hadn’t reached my mind yet, what if the accident hurt the baby? All I wanted to do was go to the ultra sound right now and check, but I had to wait a few more days.

Justin had his hands on my stomach as well; he was just as concerned as I was. He didn’t go ‘I told you so,’ or anything to make me feel bad. If anything, he made me feel better. He promised me that the baby will survive. I was hoping that he was right.

-Justin-

We had just gotten back and we were now sitting on the couch next to Lara and Sasha’s Auntie Laura. Laura had told me to address her as Laura but I decided to be like the rest of the family and call her by her respected name, Auntie Laura.

“I’m sure the little one will be fine,” Auntie Laura said, touching Sasha’s stomach with a hopeful smile.

“Now let’s get your mind of something,” Lara started. “How about the whole family plays charades?”

I nodded agreeing, “That sound’s fun.”

Sasha looked unsure about it, knowing that Daniel would be joining. I gave her a reassuring smile and whispered that it would be okay. She half smiled and I squeezed her hand.

Within the half hour the whole family except for Sasha’s other Auntie and Uncle who were out shopping. I was sitting with Sasha on my lap and Lara had decided to go first.

Lara was doing some odd walking with her arms pulled to her chest, her hands moving randomly. She was making weird growling noised which caused us all to laugh.

“A dog standing on its legs!” Sasha’s dad guessed.

“A zombie?”

“A caterpillar doing it’s mating call?”

This caused the whole room to erupt in laughter at Auntie Laura’s strange guess, but sure enough we could all understand her guess quite well.

Lara shook her head, nobody had yet guessed correctly.

“A mummy!”

“Daniel when he wakes up?”

“A dinosaur?” Sasha guessed.

Lara tapped her nose jumping. “Yes!”

Sasha giggled and fist pumped the air, “Yeah! The king of charades!”

Sasha got out of my hold and took Lara’s spot on the carpet. I was happy to see that she had forgotten about the baby and Daniel’s judging for this moment to just have fun. I liked this side of her; I especially loved to see her smile.

I want her to come over and join my family sometimes too; I know they would love her to be another addition to my family’s traditions.

I couldn’t help but throw my head back in laughter as I watched Sasha. She was doing weird 80’s dances and I couldn’t think what this was related to. Nobody could guess it, which caused Sasha to hold her sides in stitched laughing.

“We give up!” Lara said, throwing her hands in the air and letting them fall to her lap with a loud slapping noise.

Sasha looked satisfied with her win and turned to Auntie Laura. “I was Auntie Laura doing her drunk dance when I was ten.”

Everyone laughed knowing what she was talking about but I let out a quiet chuckle, deciding to speak, “Well, I’d like to see that.”

“You will tonight, they’re bringing home wine!”

This was the happiest I’ve seen the family together, everyone had seemed to forgotten all the issues and we were all just enjoying the game of charades.

I just hated knowing that after the game, things would go back to the same. Sasha would still be upset, Daniel would still be made and everyone would still be judging.

Nothing’s ever seems to stay perfect forever...
