- 1 year after the Tenrou incident -

"Hey, Boss." Kamui called as he entered Vyera's room at the HQ but found nobody in sight, "Where is she?"

"Are you looking for Boss? She just went out with Rena and Clave for a mission." Luna who appeared behind him informed.

"Waah! Luna... Don't scare the hell out of me." Kamui complained, "Um? Mission?"

"It's only a short escort. They will be back before dinner I suppose. Anything you need?" Luna asked and entered Vyera's room. She was going to put some documents on her desk.

Kamui followed her into the room and looked out from the window, "Ah, I see them." He said, spotted the trio heading out of the gate, "... I'm glad Boss is smiling more now..."

"Yeah..." Luna agreed, "I was shocked when I went to get her that day... all wet and soulless. It was as if she was ready to die herself too."

"Everyone was shocked, not only you... She just cried and cried without saying anything and without sleeping. It went on for a few days before she collapsed. I don't even dare to imagine what she would be if you did not teleport to get her that day..." Kamui said, "It was worrisome. Luckily we managed to get hold of Polyshuko-san quickly."

"I am glad she found a new hope to keep on living. I... kind of understand her feelings... Losing her whole family just like that..." Luna said while recalling her own past. Kamui gently patted her head.

"... She is still crying." Suddenly a voice joined in their conversation. It was Zach.

"... Boss is?" Kamui confirmed with Zach.

He replied with a nod and said, '"It has happened a few times. Staying in the room beside hers, I can hear her crying in the middle of the night. She still cannot forget them... Especially Gray-san... I think she cried herself to sleep most of the nights..."

"It can't be helped... Especially till now they still cannot find any remains or even the dragon..." Luna said, "We can only do our best to support her."

Everyone agreed and let the conversation ended. They then joined Sarah in the meeting room.

It had been a year since the incident in Tenrou Island. After Vyera came back, the Council was not happy that she broke the agreement and left without permission. But after seeing her condition when she came back, they gave up punishing her. It was heartbreaking to anyone who saw her cried like that.

She finally came into terms and decided that she should move on, especially since there were people who needed her now. The guild still lived on with those members that did not go to the island. They were very glad when they found out that Vyera was still alive. Yet, she decided to continue on working for Council, in hope to find some clues to Acnologia... and maybe to Tenrou Island. Even so, she occasionally visited them whenever she had free time or when she had mission nearby. Now that most of famous members were gone, the number of job requests decreased a lot. Vye sometimes sent some Jewels to them too. Although it was painful, they had to move to a smaller guild space outskirts of the town due to low budget.

The Investigation Department's missions officially started 8 months after the incident. There were few things happening during the year but we will leave it till later to talk about. Their first mission ended safely and perfectly without any single complains from client or Council. Want it or not, the Council had to rely on them for most of their business, especially those in underworld. They had no way to let Vyera go now that she was the one making this entire Investigation Department thing worked.

Luna was the one liaising with clients and Council. She arranged the missions and scheduled the available, suitable members for them. Meaning, she was the base. Everyone communicated to her if there was any problem. Vyera was the one who approved the missions’ arrangement. Sometimes their magic were just not suitable for the area or mission. But when pressed for time, it could be a good experience for them. Vyera herself also handled a few missions that were more high ranked and sometimes to guide those rascals in their mission. Much to her dislike, she was the one who need to handle the signatures for paperwork prepared by Luna in addition to all that. At least, she was spared from writing report now.

"... So this is how we will schedule the mission for this week." Luna concluded after the meeting with Sarah, Zach and Kamui in the meeting room. At the same time, the door opened. It was the trio that went to the mission earlier.

"Hey, that's way too early... Did you guys screw up the mission?" Kamui asked since they were back before it was even dinner time.

"Is that how little your faith in us?" Clave complained.

"No, no, we have gone that place before. So we simply cover up their eyes and teleported them there." Rena explained with a smile. She was the angel of the group now. She hardly got angry with anyone.

"Thanks to Luna who taught us like demon for the past months." Vyera said and sat down on the empty seat, "Well... What is our next mission?"

Those who were discussing before Vye arrived looked at each other and sighed, "Boss... You should pay more attention to yourself. You have been doing missions without rest." Sarah said.

"We put no mission in your schedule for this week." Luna said and before Vyera could complain, "It is almost time for another Council inspection and also it's time for 'that'." She added, "I will not let you out of my sight for this week."

"Okay, okay." Vyera said defeated. She was even scarier than Vyera nowadays. But suddenly Vyera felt something. She knew what it was. It was what Luna feared.

"Boss?" Rena asked.

"Uhh... I think it’s time." She said. Everybody need a second to register.

"EEEEEEH?!"
