Chapter 18 - The Reason

"Sam, hindi mo pa rin sinasagot tanong ko. Bakit mo ginawa 'to?" tanong ni Karylle kay Sam.

Imbes na sagutin niya ang tanong nito ay tumayo ito sa kinauupuan at naglakad papunta sa may living room at nagpatugtog ng kanta sa ipod nito. Hindi niya masyado nilakasan ang volume ng speakers dahil baka magising si Nico. Pinatugtog niya ang So Close by McLaughlin (song sa multimedia section :D) Pagkatapos niya i-adjust ang volume ay bumalik ito sa may dining table. He stood there, in front of Karylle and he extended his hand.

"Can I have this dance?" he asked her.

Hindi niya ito sinagot. Napatingin lang siya sa kamay nito pataas sa mukha nito at nagdadalawang isip.

"Please?" he begged.

She placed her hand on his and she stood up. Napangiti si Sam dahil dito dahil hindi niya ineexpect na papayag ito. Lumayo sila ng konti sa dining table para hindi ito matamaan at para may space. When he finally found the perfect spot, he wrapped her hands around his neck and he placed his hands on her waist. He looked at her. She couldn't look at him in the eye. She felt uncomfortable. Napansin naman ito ni Sam kaya pinasandal niya na lang si Karylle sa dibdib niya and they started to slow dance. She could hear his heartbeart. It was beating faster and faster.

"I really like you, Karylle" medyo kinakabahan na sabi nito. She pretended she didn't hear anything and remained silent. She heard his heart beat faster.

"Please let me take care of you.." he said softly. She knew what he meant. She still didn't say anything. She closed her eyes instead.

Tuloy pa rin ang pagtugtog ng kanta kaya tuloy pa rin ang pag slow dance nila.

"Please give me a chance to make you feel loved. Open up your heart and let me in." napamulat si Karylle at inalis ang pagkakasandal kay Sam para tignan 'to. Bago pa man niya tignan si Sam ay nakatingin na ito sakanya. Bumilis ang pagtibok ng puso niya dahil sa sobrang lapit ng mukha nila sa isa't isa. Bumilis din ang paghinga nito.

"Karylle, I'm still inlove with you" he confessed. Her arms were still wrapped around his neck. He moved his face closer to hers. She immediately stepped back.

"Anong ginagawa mo?" gulat na tanong nito.

"K.. I'm--" hindi na niya natapos ang sasabihin dahil nag walk out na si Karylle. Napabuntong hininga si Sam at napayuko.

Pumunta si Karylle sa kwarto niya at humiga na sa kama. She faced on the left side of her bed. Napakunot ulo nito, inaalala ang mga nangyari kanina sa labas. "What was he thinking?" She asked herself.

Pero napalitan ng inis ang kanyang mukha ng maalala niya nung sinayaw siya ni Sam. Unti unti nawala ang pagkakunot ng noo niya at napangiti ito.

She used to dream of becoming a princess when she was young. She used to believe in castles, magic, fairytales and happy endings. She used to believe that Prince Charmings were real too. She stopped believing in those and realized they were not real.
