THE UNKNOWN.

APHRODITE JONHSON

PHASE 1

Falling....falling....falling. That was basically it. I felt like I'd been falling down this eternal light for hours on end, with no sign of stopping and no guide whatsoever. I had yelled and screamed; begged and cried, but no one had answered any of my desperate calls. All I could remember at the moment was Larson. I remembered engaging in some kind of arguement with him before I was roughly detached from my body and sent into this blinding abyss.

However, the sensation was familiar to me, which was why I had stopped screaming a while ago. It felt almost exactly like the time I first visted the spirit world and met Macedon. The feeling of being removed from my body still scared me but atleast I had a clue of where I would be going...and I was seriously hoping I was right about that. I mind seemed a little fuzzy, but I could still remember the details that led to this strange attack. Fortunately for me, I looked down just in time to see something like a portal open just below me and I was both frightened and relieved. It was a sign that I was moving forward but what ever awaited me in there could cause more harm than good. I took a deep breath then shut my eyes as I fell right through the portal..........

PHASE 2

Seconds later, I landed softly on a lush field. I took a minute or two to stabilize my feet and take some deep breaths before gradually rising. I looked around and all I saw around me was a beautiful jungle with the bluest waterfalls I had ever seen, tall trees and colorful flowers. I was still pretty captivated by my breath-taking surroundings but I had to remember I was here for some reason I had yet to know.

"Is anyone here?" I called out loud. Only the sound of birds chirping could be heard. I tried again, and again....and again. Still no response. I sighed and began to walk around aimlessly. I reached a nearby rock, sat, tucked my hair behind my ears, then shouted again. And there was no reply. So I called for him.

"Macedon! Are you here?" I called out. No damn response. I clentched my fists and let out a frustrated sigh. "There's gotta be some legit reason I was brought here!" I said to myself. "Unless...I'm just tripping." I thought, then chuckled to myself. Nah, I wasn't on LSD or any drug.....right? Larson wouldn't have drugged me, right? Oh damn, that piece of shit had personality issues...I may have been giving him too much trouble and he could have drugged me. Argh! I wasn't thinking straight. I hadn't even bothered to check my if my powers were at their full potential. So then, I opened both my palms, with the intension of creating two balls of quintessence, but I got more than I asked for when what looked like a beam of quintessence shot at me from between two trees. I narrowly dodged the energy with a backflip, silently thanking our combat practice. I landed roughly but I rolled away just in time to avoid another beam.

I turned and ran for cover behind two large rocks then turned to look at the damage caused by the beams; the two holes were still heavily smoking and looked like they went all the way to the earth's core..I swear. Suddenly, it was quiet. A little too quiet. I looked around, slowly scanning my surrounding and decided to quietly creep out of my hiding spot. I wasn't utilizing my skills properly...we were taught, by Larson, the ability to sense movements/attacks before they happened. I took quick deep breaths and shut my eyes, but not before putting a shield of energy around myself. I felt my ears twitch a little as I took another deep breath. I picked up movement all around me, mostly behind those tall trees. It felt like my mind was giving me a full sweep of the area and I was glad I could tap into that ability. Soon enough, I felt more movement from the trees to my left. I spun around and shot two bolts of quintessence at the area and just as I did, large beams of energy shot out from the other three directions. I dodged them as swiftly as I could, my feet sweeping across the grass with speed and power. My dodging seemed like perfection till a bolt of energy grazed my right side; I hissed and quickly applied pressure to the wound, then immediately switched to using one hand to attack and in the process, doubled the power to make up for my occupied my hand. I did a quick split to avoid the beam that would have turned my hair to ashes, swiftly recovering from it, another beam threatened to disable my movement, I jumped over it but ended up tripping and falling...
