Not going to lie I'm sobbing on my bed for two reasons- it's almost over and my life is crumbling.

Not edited or else I'll cry even more.

When people on the Ark had the time and peace, they daydreamed about living back down on Earth again. They thought of living the way life used to be back then. Busy streets with hundreds of cars speeding down them, early morning showers that had no time limit, breakfasts fit for a king, getting a simple newspaper from the kid who pedaled away quickly, and to snuggle into a warm, fluffy bed.

To have back everything that was taken from them on that fateful day.

Unfortunately for them, they were daydreaming.

Daydreaming is anything but realistic, it's a fantasy world.

Electricity, technology, medicines, and animals they thought they could have back were just gone and they nobody could accept that.

As Kitten pushed for hours still in labor she was stuck with barely any medicine to help her. She didn't want to risk any of the herbs hurting her unborn child or her; even if Monty or Lagertha agreed that they were safe.

That annoying, sickening feeling that was stirring in her blood throughout the day was replaced with only pain, horror, and concentration. Laying down on the floor helplessly, her shaking hands tightened around thick wooden sticks from the pain.

For hours, Lagertha has been bent down and waiting for the damn baby to just pop out. Grumbling and muttering under her breath, she kept replacing cool cloths onto Kitten's forehead as she was sweating profoundly and saying the best encouraging things she could think of.

"Come on," Lagertha growled after at least five hours of seeing her writhe in pain.

"Shut up," Kitten hissed as she threw her head back in pain, "I can't just tell it to push itself out."

Before Lagertha could respond, a loud screech howled from Kitten's mouth that made Lagertha recoil a bit. Bending down again, she assisted as the baby was starting to crown.

With her mouth wide open, hands clenched around the wood, eyes glued shut for dear life, her whole body shook from the pain and the amount of pushing she was doing at the moment. They both stayed silent during it except for her crying in pain.

She felt herself relieving a lot of the pressure, so Kitten bit her lip in concentration. Throwing her head back, she pushed again and she felt like an empty jug afterwards. The newborn howled from the cold as Lagertha rushed to get the male wrapped in a blanket.

Kitten leaned her head back all the way, her muscles relaxing then tightening for a moment, dropping the wood as she smiled at the sound. It sounded so heavenly at the moment, her own baby was making that noise. With her tearing up eyes, she saw the pruny hands reach out in the air as Lagertha wrapped him in a brown blanket.

Even though she despised children, Lagertha couldn't help but smile. When she was in training one of the men slashed her open like an animal, and they doubted she could ever reproduce. The thought of having children was washed away from her mind like the waves drawing back the seashells. It was something she didn't like to discuss. But holding the healthy and breathing baby boy in her hands she couldn't help but wonder so many things.

"Lagertha," Kitten called out, a smile sketched on her face as she looked up at the grounder. Lagertha noted the bags under her eyes, the sweat still dripping down her skin, and the way her hair was matted to her forehead.
