Jewel

©1985, Olan L. Smith

The jewel of the universe

sparkles

with all glory

and brilliance:

radiant--

powerful--

beyond comprehension.

The universe treats it like

the birth of a new star,

or the majesty of a supernova.

Beside it stands no equal

for in all the cosmos,

no object exists

more glorious,

than the splendor

of a single thought.
