A Single Tear
© Olan L. Smith, 09-05-06
I walk alone
Remembering a tome
Of love and courage
Of hate and fear
My passion flows forth like a river;
My home, flooded by a single tear.
The collective weeping
Is a howl in my ear
Reminding me
I travel not alone
But with a great host
Of injured souls.
