Ascension

Ascension is our aim, not
Spiritual enlightenment, which
Comes over us like a wash, a beacon's glow in a deluge;
Even the shadows can witness light, although; darkness
Never will soar upon it.
Seeing is not perception and
Innocence sublimely given is neither insightful nor
Overcomes, rather; it is erroneous and does
Not mount the steed, while understanding is dominance of life's woe.
