Chapter 21

*Joe's POV*
I haven't seen Autumn in a few days; since I went to her house. I wanted to spend another day with her again, but how could i get in touch with her?
Caspar could give me her number?
I knocked on Caspar's bedroom door and he told me to enter.

'Hey Cas, could i have Autumn's number please?' I asked, embarrassed.

'Why would you want her number?' He asked, furrowing his eyebrows together.

'Oh i just wanted to see if she wanted to do anything today because i'm bored' i lied; i just wanted to see her.

'Oh, erm- yeah, pass me your phone then' he said, 'could i tag along with whatever you guys decide to do?'

'Sure' i replied, but deep down i was upset; i wanted it to be just me and Autumn.

After he punched in her number i added her to my contact list.

(A-Autumn, J-Joe)

J- hey Autumn, it's Joe, Caspar gave me your number, i hope you don't mind. I was just wondering if you wanted to do something with me today? Caspar said he'll come too.

A- hey Joe, yeah that's fine. And sure, what would you like to do?

J- come around mine & Caspar's in a bit and we can decide then

Within half an hour, she got to our apartment and she looked beautiful.
Her hair was curled effortlessly, and her eyes sparkled a shade of sky blue.
I let her in and we walked over to the living room, where Caspar was standing, ready to go.

'So where we off to?' Autumn asked.

'Well where do you like to go for fun around here?' I replied.

'I love Thorpe Park!!!' She squealed excitedly.

Great. I am absolutely terrified of heights, so roller coasters don't really help. But Autumn seemed so happy about the idea, i couldn't say no.

'Well that's where we're off to then' i smiled and she grinned in reply.

'But Joe y-' Caspar stared, but i cut him off with an 'evil' glance.

He was going to tell Autumn about my fear of heights, but i didn't want him to ruin her day.

'-You better get your car keys' he corrected himself, so i mouthed 'thank you' to him, so Autumn wouldn't hear.

When we arrived at the theme park, i began to feel sick to the stomach. i was facing my fear, which I've had ever since i can remember.
But just as i began to doubt myself, Autumn squealed out of excitement, linked me and squeezed my arm; making a smiling, cute face.

From this instant i knew me and Autumn were friends, that one little thing had bonded us.

'This one Joe!' Caspar said, pointing at the highest rollercoaster in the park, with uncountable loops.

As he said it he smirked at me. At first he was joking; teasing me. But when Autumn looked at the ride, her face lit up. Oh no.

'Come on Joe!' She said dragging me slightly.

'I'm coming' i laughed nervously, gulping down the ball of fear that had formed in my throat.

When we got on the ride, everything seemed to come to reality. I was going on the highest roller coaster in Thorpe Park, and i was facing my fear. But right now, i was actually on the ride.
My fear made my whole body shiver.

'Are you okay Joe?' Autumn asked, holding onto her over neck seat belt, seeming genuinely concerned.

'Urm- is this a bad time to say i'm afraid of heights?' I asked her, whilst the man was fastening my seat belt.

'What? Joe you should have said!' She questioned.

'I know, i just didn't want you to think i was a 'big wimp' ' i replied with my head held low.

'You're not a big wimp Joe, everybody is afraid of something. Like i have a fear of loneliness.. It doesn't make me a 'big wimp'. Here, if you ever get scared, hold onto my hand.' She smiled, holding out her hand ready for me to take; therefore i gripped it into my own and smiled; the ride started.

Every time there was a loop i'd try to hold in my scream, but i just couldn't. Every time i'd grip onto Autumn's hand tighter for comfort.

When the ride had finished i stared at the floor in shock; i'd over come my fear! Well maybe not completely, but i still did it.

'That was great!' I exclaimed to Autumn, proud of myself.

'I knew you would enjoy it eventually' she smiled, 'but bloody hell Joe, you've got a tight grip.' She laughed.

'I'm so sorry!!' I gasped whilst getting off the ride, obviously i didn't realize how hard i'd gripped.

'No no, it's fine' she said, and our smiles reached both our eyes.

We searched around for Caspar and eventually found him in a restaurant eating pizza; classic Caspar.

'Joe braved it?' He asked, seeming surprised.

'Yup' i grinned.

'..c'mon then, lets go get ice cream' Caspar cheered.

The perfect ending to the perfect day.
