our morning was the same as always. i had a shower and got changed into the training kit as leah had a few more minutes in bed
once i was ready, i woke up leah, she got up and got ready
i went downstairs to make us both breakfast, a bagel with salmon and crème cheese and a coffee
i placed both plates and mugs on the table and called leah down
we sat down at the table and got into conversation
"are you nervous for today?" she asked
"a little bit but i just can't wait to get back on the pitch" i sighed
"not long now my love" she assured me
"i know but it's been so long" i said
"you'll be in full fitness for next season though darling" she said
"i know but i want to be back for the last few games of the season" i replied
"that's not going to be physically possible baby, you know that" she said softly
i took a deep breath before sipping on my coffee
we quickly ate our food before getting up from the table and placing a kiss to the top of her head
i placed our dirty plates and mugs in the sink and headed back upstairs
i packed a bag for us both as leah doesn't like to take her own
"you ready babe?" i shouted from upstairs
"yeah let me just get the car keys" she yelled from the bottom of the stairs
i grabbed the bag and met leah at the door
"you're driving today?" i asked in shock
"erm no, why would i when i have a personal chauffeur?" she joked
"haha very funny" i said sarcastically, grabbing the keys from her open hand
leah connected to the bluetooth in the car, like she always does
we arrived at the training centre a little early so we sat in the car talking for a while
"ill drop you here tomorrow so you can get the coach with the girls. i'm gonna go pick laura up and we're going to go for lunch before the game. then laura and i will meet your family before going in, is that okay?" i asked
"yeah sounds good" she said softly
"i was thinking about going on a double date with viv and beth next week? would you want to do that?" i asked
her eyes lit up
"yes yes yes. absolutely" she said eagerly
"i cant tell if you're more excited about going on a date with beth and viv or me" i giggled
"you obviously. but we've been meaning to do this for a while" she said
