we made our way into the changing rooms before pulling leah behind
"good luck my love, i'll be sat up with laura so look out for me" i smiled
"i love you" she whispered and wrapped her arms around me, pulling me closer
"i love you more le" i whispered back
i put my hand on her chin and lifted her head up to look into her eyes
i placed my lips against hers, a gentle, tender kiss that burst with electricity
she pulled away and grinned ear to ear before joining the girls in the changing rooms
i waited for laura to come out of the changing rooms before heading up to the box with her
laura wienroither and i always got along although we didn't speak much. we had a lot in common so it was always easy to have a conversation with her
i've always looked up to her since i joined arsenal. i've never seen her play due to her rupturing her acl but she's always been very optimistic about her recovery. she's closer than ever to returning and i couldn't be prouder of her
as we took our seats in the box at the emirates, the amazing atmosphere immediately hit me. people filled up the seats, chants and cheers surrounded the area
the seats wrapped in red and white shirts with scarfs being violently waved in the air
laura and i chatted for a while whilst the girls warmed up
before we knew it, the girls were walking out of the tunnel before making their way into their positions
leah always looked good in her arsenal kit but there was something different about her today. the way she was carrying herself melted me to my core
her silly blonde hair tied perfectly into a ponytail with her cute baby hairs slightly sticking out
if only she knew the things that ponytail does to me
the lineup:
arsenal: sab, lotte, katie, leah, steph, kim, lia, vic, beth, viv and cloe
spurs: votikova, nildén, bartrip, turner, grant, graham, clinton, summanen, ildusøy, thomas and england
as the game kicked off, both laura and i analysed the game, speaking about our strengths and weaknesses within the play
we dominated possession easily with leah making a few sweeps when necessary
watching her play from a distance made me realise why fans adore her
in the 15th minute, clinton pinged the ball to thomas who made herself through lotte, leaving a 1v1 against sab
thomas striked the ball hard towards the top left corner causing sab to dive to reach for the corner
she jumped a second too early, sending the ball soaring into the back of the net
1-0 spurs
at the end of the first half, the score remained the same with spurs having a few more opportunities
during half time, the crowd kept their spirits up in hope that 'second halfsenal' would make an appearance
after a while, the girls returned onto the pitch ready for kick off once again
as the second half progressed, spurs were shutting us down during every opportunity
that was until steph played the ball down the line to beth who crossed it to viv in the box
viv took it on the half volley, hitting the ball past the keeper and into the goal
screams filled the stadium with red and white scarfs being thrown around in the air
