Reality

it's now the day after the talk with leah about my emotions and i'm currently on my way to lunch with rachel

i haven't seen her in so long so i know the gossip is going to be good

we sat down and ordered our usual

"i made my debut for chelsea a few games ago" rachel exclaimed

"i know rach i watched the game, you were amazing" i said with a huge smile on my face

she looked so proud of us both because we both made our dreams come true

"i have something to tell you" she said with a pause

i nodded my head, indicating her to carry on

"so obviously the transfer window is closing soon" she said

i nodded my head again in anticipation

"i've had a few offers" she whispered

"oh my god who" i yelled in excitement

"well i haven't chosen yet but aston villa, manchester united and spurs" she said

the smile slowly faded from my face. although i was beyond happy for my best friend, i always thought we'd play professionally together

"i'm more leaning towards aston villa because they guaranteed me game time and i think i'll get some good experience there" she explained

i agreed with her

"so do you think villa is the right move?" she asked

"i think you should follow your heart. don't just move to a team for the sake of it" i replied

"i think i've decided on villa then" she said with a smile

i've always supported rachel's decisions, no matter how crazy they were

after the conversation of transfers were over, we moved onto speaking about leah

i caught her up on everything that has happened, including the situation with garcia at the united game

"what a bitch" she exclaimed

because i've known rachel since i was a child, she knows everything about me. she knows all about my dad and how much his passing destroyed me. she was always by my side at my worst, especially when my rage was at its peak

she always understood me although she'd never been in the same situations. she always knew how to deal with the situation, whatever it was

after moving from one conversation to another and eating our food in the process, rachel had even bigger news to tell me

"so..erm" she said hesitantly "i've kinda been seeing guro"

"seeing as in?" i gave her a wink

she nodded her head slightly

"mate i'm so happy for you. i always knew you had a thing for her" i exclaimed

"you can't tell anyone though, we're keeping it on the down-low for a while" she insisted

then it hit me

"oh my god" i screamed "double dates"

"that's if i ever get to actually meet leah" she said, rolling her eyes

"oh shut up, you know i've been busy" i replied "how about next week sometime?" i suggested

"perfect" she said

"oh and bring guro" i teased

"i'm sure she'd be happy to catch up with her ex teammate" she said

once we both ran out of things to talk about, we decided it was time to part ways

"see you next week" i said and pulled rachel into a warm hug

she wrapped her arms around me before getting into her car

i sat down in my car and put leah and i's address into google maps and placed my phone in the holder so i could focus on the road as well as going in the right direction

i stopped off at the shop on the way home and picked up leah's favourite red roses along with some chocolate to say thank you for being so patient with me the last few days

as i drove along, i prepared a little speech in my head that i was going to perform to leah, expressing to her how much she means to me

just because i got the girl, doesn't mean i stop putting in the effort. she's always worth it

i drew closer to home, singing along to leah's playlist that she insists on me listening to because according to her, she has the best music taste out there

i mean she's not wrong, but i won't tell her that for obvious reasons

my phone slipped out of the holder and into the footwell of my seat

i reached down to pick it up and tried my best to keep my focus on the road

i patted my hand across the footwell, unsuccessful in finding my phone

i glanced down for a second and spotted my phone trapped underneath my seat

before i could grab my phone, my entire body jerked sideways

my passenger door was caved in by another car and my bumper was wrapped around a post

glass shattered anywhere and everywhere

the airbags failed to deploy and i just knew there was no way of saving my car

blood was absolutely everywhere and my trouser leg was completely soaked

that's when it hit me, i couldn't feel any pain

my head felt so fuzzy and i could barely keep my eyes open

i must of hit my head at some point

the fact i couldn't feel any physical pain was somewhat comforting but most definitely terrifying

my right leg was completely numb and i wasn't able to move it

the only thing that crossed my mind was leah. not my leg, not the blood, leah.

i needed to get home to her and tell her how much i love her

my head thumped and throbbed and got worse by the second

i couldn't move it without it sending sharp pains all the way down my body

immediately i knew that the nightmare i've been having continuously was now real life

i really think this is the end, i'm sorry leah.
