Soft, melodic purring wakes me up from my sleep and I lazily open my eyes to look around. I was currently locked in Husk's arms, he was hugging me from behind, his wing wrapped protectively around me. Memories from yesterday flooding into my mind accompanied by my face heating up immediately. Oh fuck, we...

Normally in this situation I'd run away, leave before the person I was with woke up, but because he was holding me down it was a little hard to do. And I didn't want to leave, I wanted to find out if this was only because we were both drunk, or if he actually liked me. And I would definitely prefer the latter, for obvious reasons.

I never expected to get so close to somebody who pissed me off so much in the beginning, but one could say life is a mystery. I admit, I like this man more than I am comfortable, but... for once, I'm willing to give this whole thing a try. He makes me feel things that I never before and spending an eternity with him doesn't seem so bad. If he wants the same...

I heard his voice grumble in my ear and he shuffled a little on the bed. "Morning." He planted a soft kiss on the back of my head and his wing was lifted off of me, almost stretching in the air before falling back on me. "You sleep well?" He put his head on the crook of my neck and he hugged me tighter.

"Yeah, I did." I smiled, feeling like a high school girl in love.

I turned around to face him, and with a smile I kissed him on the lips passionately, something that seemed to take him aback but he quickly reciprocated. I put my hand up and pet his head, and after we pulled away from each other we just looked into each others eyes for a second, sharing a moment.

"Be honest, was I loud?" He raised his eyebrow and I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks.

I giggled at his genuine interest. "I couldn't tell you right now if I tried, I need a second for all my memories to come back."

"Hm... Or, I could just remind you." He booped my nose with his finger and I quickly hid my face under the covers, a little embarrassed.

"Pervert." My voice came out muffled due to the sheets and I heard him chuckle as he got off the bed, trying to find his clothes around my room.

I sneakily looked above the covers, trying to get a look at him while he walked around my room. But quickly I hid again, hearing him laugh as he looked back at me. After I heard him getting dressed I got up too, walking to my closet to try and find an outfit for the day. Finally choosing to wear something comfortable.

"So, Husk, does this mean..." I began, my words trailing off momentarily as a sudden, irrational fear crept over me.

"That we're dating? I would hope so. Do you want me to make it more official?" Husk responded, his voice carrying a hint of mischief. I turned to face him, and he cleared his throat before confidently striding toward me. Dramatically, he dropped to one knee.

"Will you, [Y.N]..." He paused, a sly grin spreading across his face as he took my hand in his. "Make me the happiest man in Hell and become my lady?"

A burst of laughter came out of me, a mixture of surprise and amusement. As he mimicked the act of sliding an imaginary ring onto my finger, I couldn't help but play along, admiring the invisible ring for a brief moment. "I do!" I exclaimed, the lightheartedness of the moment filling the air as we shared a joyous laugh together.

He grinned, gently taking hold of my hand and placing a delicate kiss on the back of it, causing a warm blush to spread across my cheeks. Rising from his knee with a small grunt, he casually adjusted his hat atop his head, giving me a soft kiss on the cheek. We agreed we should both go downstairs, together this time, since we weren't trying to hide anything from the other residents. Besides, if what Husk asked me a couple minutes ago was true then... I'm sure someone already knows about us.

As I reached for the door to exit my room, Husk pulled me in by my waist, surprising me with a deep, lingering kiss. Though caught off guard initially, I kissed him back, and as we broke apart, he continued to embrace me. Returning the hug, I couldn't help but smile.

"You don't even know the way you make me feel. I'm just so... happy, that you feel the same way, [Y.N]." He confessed, the sincerity in his words resonating between us.

Running my fingers through his hair, I planted a gentle kiss on Husk's cheek "Of course I do, Husk, you're the sweetest person I've ever met and I think we could really be happy together. You make me feel stuff I have never felt before and... I want to make you as happy as you make me." His smile in response was heartwarming.

After we made our way downstairs together holding hands, Charlie was looking at us with stars in her eyes. We sat on the couch by the lobby where everybody else was and a sudden silence fell in the room. Suddenly I felt awkward, Charlie and Angel Dust were just staring us down with different expressions on their faces.

"You two know my room is right above yours?" Angel asked with a sour look on his face, his eye twitching slightly.

"Oh my God, are you guys actually dating!? I am so incredibly happy for you two!" Charlie stood up and ran over to us, grabbing both my hands. "How did it start? Who made the first move?" She asked quickly until Vaggie put her hand on Charlie's shoulder, pulling her away from us to try and give us a bit of space.

A self-conscious chuckle escaped me, and I felt the reassuring weight of Husk's arm settling on my shoulder. My smile widened as Charlie stood in the middle of the lobby, beginning to explain the day's lesson plan.

In this moment, I felt nothing but content and happiness. It felt as if the universe brought Husk and me together, two lost puzzle pieces that seemed to fit perfectly with each other. Thoughts of our shared future sent waves of excitement through me as I looked at the man beside me. The fact that neither of us had been in a proper relationship before didn't scare me, instead, it made me happy that we're sharing this kind of experience together.

As I held Husk's hand in mine, the warmth of his touch gave me a comforting reassurance. His presence, his quirks, his every imperfection, I felt like I could love every part of him without a struggle. I watched him smirk, and I couldn't help but smile myself.

The minutes ticked away as Charlie explained the plans for the day, but my focus remained firmly on Husk. I leaned against him, feeling the gentle touch of his wing enveloping me. He turned his head to face me, his eyes meeting mine, and an awkward feeling crawled onto me as I realized I have just been staring at him. He leaned in closer, his lips now close to my ear, as a warm whisper left his lips. "I love you."

"I love you too, Husk."
