In 1978 Three years into Performing Arts High School in NYC, It is been few years since I did a singing performance at the club where my mom work there now she is music teacher at the same school. Now I'm  There is bunch of kids about to audition for Talent Show and I'm one of the girls are audition for the role who sings and dance while others do magic. That is what I wanna do after I got reject from Christmas play when I was little because I wasn't black enough and white enough. Hope the music industry or theatre will accept me. They will see. 

"Oh It's song that I want you to sing and its call "Somewhere In My Lifetime.

I realize is its Phyllis Hyman's song. 

"Oh! I love her. I've been a fan of her since I was little girl."

"You should go for it."

"I gonna warm up my voice and rehearses. I can do this. I know the words. I can do this."


Few Minutes Later POV

I'm finally went on stage start to rehearse and sing Phyllis Hyman's song "Somewhere In My Lifetime."

"Somewhere in my lifetime

You've been here with me

Oh so close to me

Somewhere in my lifetime

I have kiss your lips

Lips so tenderly.

They've been kissing me


3 mins Later POV

YESSS! I did it as they judge clap my performance, but the rest of them roar in cheers including my friend Sadie.

"Girl, you sounded fantastic."

They hug each other excitement.

"Thanks, Sadie. I did it."

"Congratulations, Yvonne."

"Thanks Jerrel, but I'm not sure how I will if I made the cut."

"Don't worry, girlfriend. You will get it. I gonna go on stage. We got one more year before we graduate from high school."

"Alright! Good luck at your audition."

"Thanks, I got to get ready."

I can't wait until I tell my family wonderful news.
