Early the following morning, Stonepaw took his eldest son Rocky out into the forest with him.
As the badgers boars walked through the brush, they encountered a porcupine.
And the porcupine was climbing up a tree.
The two badgers watched the interesting sight as the prickly animal went up into the tree.
Then both of them went on their way over to the river.
They stopped to have a drink and walked on to search for something to hunt.
They caught a few mice and marmots,, and before they headed back home, they heard a loud snarl.
The badgers trotted in the direction of the sound, and there it was. The porcupine had come down from the tree when another badger got her paw stuck on it's quills.
The female badger then pulled her paw off the porcupine and started snarling in pain. Apparently this is what happened when Stonepaw and Rocky were at the river drinking from it.
The sow then walked away, pulling the three quills out of her left front paw.
There was some blood on the ground because of the quills, which had barbs on them. Stonepaw and Rocky then left with their catches in their mouths.
