Chapter Eighteen : The first years visit

Layla's POV

Once we went back to school we were the highest upperclassmen which means we have to set an example, not to mention we have the Royal one, we may have got it over farther wanting me in his class but we all already fit the requirements with around fifteen members of our class leaving and only eight of us remaining. I never joined a battler or created one, I wasn't too into doing competitions like that so I try and avoid them when I can. We heard that the new first years are coming to see all the upperclassmen so they can get an idea of what they should try and beat. The lesson we were in when they came to visit my class was spells. Luckly this is my favourite class and farther teaches us this as our registration tutor.

Once the first years arrived we were all on a field with farther speaking "alright class I want you to go through each of these books, casting all of them since their is eight of you, im going to pair you up, and you will nominate one of you to come get a book from each pile" "alright so the pairs are as follows, Elizabeth Taylor with Alan Haslam, Delaney Smith with Carter Wright, kalego Naberius with shichiro balam, and finally Layla(L/n)with Kristen Wiltiam. Now get into you pairs" some people look confused at who my partner is for this project but because I'm observant I know who that is so I walk over to her"I'll get to book you just sit over their" I said pointing to a part of the grass as she fades into nothingness.

I then walk over to the piles of revision guides so I take one from each pile and walk over to where I told her to wait. But before I could get there I was stopped by kalego walking to me "who is the person that you were assighned to work with" he said as I point to a patch of grass as he turns he head to see a female facing away from us before he looks at shichiro starting to speek "oi bird man were working with these two" he said in a rough voice as shichiro looks over at us and walks over "she doesn't like talking to people much it's sort of a clan thing" I said informing them to be cautious as we start walking to her "hey I'm back" I said as the light purple haired female turns around revealing her fringe and starts fading away but before she does I said "you don't have to talk to them if you don't want to but kalego just wanted to work with me" I said as she slowly reverts herself back to normal while standing up while we stand in a circle with the books in the center "let's start with the medium level book then move onto the harder level book and if we finish with some time remaining we'll go through the lover level book to recap quickly " I said suggesting my plan with everyone agreeing so I go get the book from the center reading out the first spell "memories - this spell allows you to see someone's memories" after a pause "yeah, okay let's not do this one, it could end badly altering someone's mind, I thought this was forbidden whys it in the texts" I said looking up at the other two as they confirm my accusations. I then stood up saying "I'll go ask farther about it"." Farther! Whys this spell in the book isn't it forbidden?" I said yelling to farther whilst walking over to him gathering everyones attention with farther walking up to me picking up the book "hmm, that's strange looks like someone's tampered with the books with a correcting spell, only the thirteen crowns can do that along with me" he said thinking if what it could be as I get a posibility in my head "you don't think, after Baal escaped prison he's now back to shenanigans, do you?" I said questioning him "it could be a posibility, if students see this and start using it everywhere thinking it's learning then this school could be in trouble thinking that were teaching forbidden magic" he responded as he then makes an announcement "alright class there is a problem with these books, it looks like someone tampered with the books putting forbidden spells in them I want you to all hand in the books so I can send them to get looked at" once the first years heard this they all gained shocked faces afraid of what might happen. When our class heard this we didn't panic as everyone closed the books and putting them back in three piles on the table farther brought outside. We knew that if we panicked then the first years would panic too but in reality we all know the seriousness of the situation and we were all panicking on the inside but when they noticed that we weren't panicking they calmed down thinking they were over-reacting but unbetold to them that's exactly how we were reacting inside knowing that a former thirteen crowns member was trying to get this place shut down. "regarding the cercomstances I'll have to ask you to wait here, all work together going through the spells you remember from when you were first years and if anyone doesn't remember, remind them how to do it" farther said walking into the main building. Once farther left all the first years left aswell as kalego instructed everyone "everyone gather around the table and we'll start off with the first spell we learnt" with everyone following along with kalego making sure me and shichiro sit next to him and no-one else. Once we were all in a circle Elizabeth said "what was the first spell we were taught I know all of the ones from first to second year but I don't remember which one we learnt first" with Delaney chiming in "I think we should just go through the spells we learnt through the year at a time instead of in order" " wait Layla wasn't in for the first two years do you want us to catch you up?" Carter said with kalego responding "that won't be Nessasery me, shichiro and opera, from the year that just left has been tutoring her during lunch times"." So that's why you don't come to the building for lunch? Will you be coming there from now on then?" Alan said wanting to know if we'll join them "im not sure but I would be glad to" I said with shichiro replying "yeah and we can get a better bond with our classmates" with kalego looked at us with full seriousness "your all fools! We only have seven months until our final exams start, these months need to be used wisely" with me looking at him and looking back to the class "I agree we've been working so hard until now and if we just let that go to waste, then what was the point in studying for all those years, we may not know what it's like to go through these final exams because this is the proper things now but we've got to try our hardest harder than we ever have and we can't be slacking of not even for a second" I said before thinking to myself "oh do I know, I didn't revise at all except a few days before the first exam in the GCSEs and once I got my results it showed because if I revised I probably would have passed everything with 4's but since I didn't I got 3's, I regretted not revising the most, I even started regretting it whilst sitting in the exam hall,so im the only one here with the experience of the proper things and I can't fail this now" as I then get out of my thoughts I see that everyone looking at me with determined faces with kalego putting his arm around my shoulder changing my hair colour to purple matching farther thinking the words "cherushil" as he starts asking the rest of the class "does everyone remember this one and how to do it?"."why the fuck did you use me as an example!"I yelled at him changing my hair back to normal before slapping his face "oi that was not necessary!" Kalego whined "aww come on Layla you looked adorable with my hair colour" farther said behind me "oh farther your back" I said with him kneeling on the floor at the one of the table now matching our height "so everyone knew that one correct?" All of us nodding our heads or replying with a 'yeah' we than had that lesson for three more hours with every half an hour switching onto a different year. Once we got to the last half an hour farther was going over the names of the spells that are forbidden and mentioning how only border patrol can use memorie spell as it's to confirm if they did the crimes, but the people that do it are heavly trained in that certain field of magic but it's very restricted to work and work only, if they use it outside of work they get put in prison with their rank removed.
