As the days flew by, Lady Charlotte and the Duke began preparing for the upcoming dance party. They went to the market to buy decorations, food, and drinks, and Lady Charlotte couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of being proposed to by the man she loved.
"Darling, I think this will be the perfect centerpiece," the Duke said, holding up a bouquet of flowers for Lady Charlotte to inspect."Oh, it's lovely!" she exclaimed, taking the bouquet from him. "I can't believe we're actually doing this.""I know," the Duke said with a smile. "It feels surreal, doesn't it? But I can't wait to make you mine forever."Lady Charlotte blushed and leaned in to kiss him. "And I can't wait to be yours," she whispered. In addition to preparing the party, the Duke also went to choose the engagement ring. He wanted it to be perfect, a symbol of his love and commitment to Lady Charlotte. He chose a stunning diamond ring with a simple, elegant band that he knew she would love.On the day of the party, Lady Charlotte spent hours getting ready. She wore a beautiful dress that the Duke had given her as a gift, and she carefully placed the engagement ring on her finger. When the guests began arriving, Lady Charlotte felt nervous but excited. She greeted them warmly, chatting and dancing with them. But she couldn't help but keep an eye out for the Duke, who had yet to arrive. Finally, he appeared, looking handsome as ever. Lady Charlotte's heart skipped a beat as he made his way towards her."May I have this dance, my love?" he asked, holding out his hand. She nodded, taking his hand and feeling his strong arms wrap around her. As they swayed to the music, he leaned in close to her ear."I love you so much, my dear Charlotte," he whispered. "And I have a question to ask you."Lady Charlotte felt her heart race as he took a step back and got down on one knee."Will you marry me?" he asked, holding out the ring.Tears filled Lady Charlotte's eyes as she nodded. "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!"The guests erupted into applause as the Duke slipped the ring onto her finger, and Lady Charlotte threw her arms around him in a joyous embrace."What took you so long?" she asked, laughing and crying at the same time. The Duke grinned. "I had to make sure everything was perfect. And now it is, because you said yes."

The couple embraced, and the Duke lifted her off her feet and spun her around. The Montagues came rushing out to congratulate them, and the Duke's parents soon joined in the celebration.

The Duke's mother, Mrs. Worthington, hugged Lady Charlotte tightly and said, "We are delighted to have you as our daughter-in-law. You are a perfect match for our son."

Mr. Worthington shook the Duke's hand and said, "Well done, my boy. You have made us proud, and we can't wait to have you both come home to meet the rest of the family."

The Montagues and the Worthingtons spent the rest of the day discussing wedding plans and preparations. They agreed that the wedding would be held in the Montagues' garden, with the reception at the Worthingtons' estate.

The Duke and Lady Charlotte spent the day basking in the glow of their love and planning their future together. They were both excited about their upcoming wedding and couldn't wait to start their new life as husband and wife.

As the sun set on the day of the proposal, the couple sat in the garden, holding hands and enjoying the quiet moment. Lady Charlotte looked up at the Duke and said, "I never thought I would find someone who loves me as much as you do. I am truly blessed to have you in my life."

The Duke smiled and replied, "And I am the one who is blessed, my dear. You have brought light and love into my life, and I cannot imagine a single day without you. I love you more than words can express."

The couple shared a tender kiss as the stars twinkled above them, and the promise of their future together shone bright.
