As the sun began to set, the Montague mansion was alive with activity. Lady Charlotte had retired to her room to prepare for the small party her father had arranged, while Duke Alexander was taken to the guest room to freshen up before joining the family.

When the time came, the Duke made his way to the grand dining room, where he found the Montague family waiting for him. Lady Charlotte looked radiant in a dress that sparkled in the candlelight, her jewelry catching the light and making her glow like a star.

As they sat down to dine, the table was filled with an array of sumptuous dishes, each one more delicious than the last. The Duke was in high spirits, and he found himself engaging in lively conversation with the family, his eyes constantly drawn to Lady Charlotte.

Finally, the dessert arrived - a beautiful cake with a rich chestnut filling. The Duke was quick to take a slice and offer it to Lady Charlotte, but she declined politely.

As the Duke ate his cake, he couldn't help but notice the strange look on Lady Charlotte's face. "Is everything alright?" he asked, concerned.

"I'm not feeling well," Lady Charlotte replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I think I might be allergic to something in the cake."

The Montague family sprang into action, calling for a doctor to examine Lady Charlotte. As they waited anxiously for the doctor's arrival, the Duke couldn't help but feel guilty. If he hadn't offered the cake to Lady Charlotte, she wouldn't be in this state.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the kitchen. It turned out that the cake was made by a new servant, Emily who was unfamiliar with the Lady's allergy to sesame. The servant had unknowingly used sesame oil in the cake, causing Lady Charlotte's reaction.

Duke Alexander felt a wave of relief wash over him as the doctor declared Lady Charlotte would be alright. He couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to her. He vowed to himself that he would never let anything harm her again.

As the party came to an end, the Duke walked Lady Charlotte back to her room. "I'm so sorry about the cake," he said, his eyes filled with concern. "I had no idea you were allergic to sesame."

Lady Charlotte smiled weakly. "It's alright," she said. "I'm just glad everything turned out okay. And besides, it's not your fault. You couldn't have known."

The Duke couldn't help but feel grateful for Lady Charlotte's forgiving nature. He knew that he would do anything to keep her safe and happy, no matter what it took.
