King Viserys Targaryen sat on his throne, his eyes fixed upon Lady Daenera Stark. She was a woman of great beauty and strength, and Viserys knew that she would make a fine match for either Aemond or Maegor but the time had come for her to choose, and Viserys was eager to hear her decision.

"Lady Daenera," he said, his voice carrying through the hall. "I have asked much of you, and for that, I apologize. But the time has come for you to make a decision. Will you marry my son, Prince Aemond, or my nephew, Prince Maegor?"

Daenera stood before the king, her eyes steady and resolute. "Your Grace," she began, her voice firm. "I have given this decision much thought, and I have come to a conclusion.......... I choose Prince Aemond."

Viserys nodded slowly, a small smile crossing his lips. "An excellent choice, my lady. Aemond is a strong and capable warrior, and I have no doubt that he will make a fine husband and protector for you."

Daenera smiled back, relieved that the decision was finally made. "Thank you, Your Grace. I am honored to have the opportunity to marry him."

Viserys turned to his son, who stood nearby, watching the exchange with interest. "Aemond, my son," Viserys said. "You have won the heart of Lady Daenera Stark. I hope you will cherish her and protect her for all your days."

Aemond bowed deeply. "I will, Father. I swear it."

Viserys nodded once more, his expression proud. "Then it is settled. The two of you shall be wed as soon as the arrangements can be made."

Daenera and Aemond exchanged a look, both of them feeling a sense of relief and joy. They knew that there would be challenges ahead, but for now, they were content in the knowledge that they had each other and the support of their families.

_______________

Maegor sat alone in his chambers, staring blankly at the wall in front of him. He had just received the news that Daenera, the woman he loved more than anything in the world, had chosen to marry Aemond instead of him. It was a blow that had left him feeling utterly devastated.

As he sat there, lost in thought, his mind began to wander back to the time he had first met Daenera. He remembered how she had captured his heart from the moment he laid eyes on her. Her beauty, her intelligence, her strength of character, and all of these things had drawn him to her like a moth to a flame.

But now, it seemed, all of those feelings had been for naught. Daenerys had chosen someone else someone who was not him. And that thought cut Maegor to the core.

He tried to push the pain aside, to tell himself that it didn't matter, that he could move on and find someone else to love. But deep down, he knew that wasn't true. He knew that his love for Daenera was too strong, too deep-rooted, to simply be cast aside.

Tears welled up in his eyes as he thought about the life he had imagined for himself and Daenera a life filled with love, passion, and happiness. Now, all of those dreams seemed to be slipping away, and Maegor couldn't bear the thought of living without her.

He knew that he couldn't force her to love him, no matter how much he wanted to. And so, he resolved to try and move on, to try and find some measure of happiness in a world that seemed intent on denying him the one thing he truly wanted.

But as he rose from his chair and made his way towards the door, he knew that the pain of losing Daenera the pain of losing the one person who had ever truly mattered to him would never truly go away.

_____________

Maegor sat atop his dragon, his heart heavy with sorrow and regret. He had made the decision to leave King's Landing to leave behind the woman he loved.

As he looked out over the city, he couldn't help but feel a sense of bitterness and disappointment. Daenera chose Aemond over him, and he couldn't quite wrap his head around why. He had loved her with all his heart, and yet she had turned away from him, leaving him with nothing but a broken heart.

He knew he couldn't stay in King's Landing any longer. The city held too many painful memories, too many reminders of the life he had once dreamed of having with her. And so, he had made the decision to leave and return to Dragonstone.

He had thought about telling Daenera about explaining to her why he had to leave. But in the end, he knew it wouldn't make a difference. She had made her choice, and he had to respect that, even if it hurt him to his core.

And so, he had simply mounted his dragon and taken to the skies, leaving King's Landing behind without a word to anyone. He knew that his departure would cause some confusion and concern, but he couldn't bring himself to face Daenera, not when the pain of her rejection was still so fresh and raw.

As he soared through the clouds, he felt a sense of freedom and release wash over him.

Still, a part of him couldn't help but wonder what might have been if she had chosen him instead of Aemond. But he knew that dwelling on the past would only bring him more pain, and so he resolved to focus on the future, no matter how uncertain it might be.
