Daenera walked around the castle, not being able to find sleep. She walked the hallways with wolf when Shira ran into a room with the door that was slightly opened.

"No, Shira." She whispered and ran in after her.

"Hello again." Maegor said, petting the wolf's head.

"I'm sorry Shira just does her own thing sometimes."

"No need to apologize." Maegor said, standing up.

Daenera stared at his chest and then looked away quickly. "I should go."

"Or you can stay." He said as he leaned against the window staring up at the moon. "I've been meaning to ask you something." He said, turning to her.

"Of course, my prince."

"You don't have to do that. I'm a bastard." He said to her.

"You have the Targaryen name and Targaryen blood. In my eyes, you are not."

Maegor tensed up from her words. All his life, he knew what he was, and everyone knew. It's all they could see, but she made it seem like maybe it didn't matter.

He quickly cleared his throat. "Back to my question."

"Right, yes."

"Is it the same with your wolf? Like the bond we have with dragons."  He asked.

Daenera smiled. Shira was big enough for her to ride, but she never had to. "Shira is her own wolf, but she chooses  to be loyal to me. She chooses to let me see through her eyes."

"What does that mean?" He asked.

"Can you keep a secret?" She asked with a small smile.

"My lips are sealed." He told her.

Daenera hesitated, but she took a deep breath and turned her back to him. Her eyes turned completely white, and so did Shira's.

"Do something." She told him.

"Um, alright." He said and began waving his hand.

"You're waving your hand." She said softly.

He shook his head in confusion and took a step towards her quietly.

"Now you're - "

Maegor turned her around and lifted her chin upwards. Her eyes became normal once more as she looked up at him. He leaned in like he was going to kiss her but then pulled away.

"You should get some sleep." He mumbled, then turned back to the window.

"Good night, my prince." She said and left with Shira.

"Don't look at me like that." She said to her wolf.

Just as she was about to enter, Shira placed her body in front of Daenera, stopping her from danger and growling at the door. She slowly pushed her door open to see her room completely trashed.

"You thinking what I'm thinking? " She asked Shira.

THE NEXT DAY

Daenera made her way outside the castle and found Prince Aemond next to his dragon Vhagar.

"My lady." He said, bowing.

"My prince." She answered sweetly.

"Care to join me?"

"I'm not sure I should." She answered.

"Come." Aemond said, reaching his hand out.

She took his hand, and Aemond placed it on Vhagars snout.

"I've never seen one up close." She said, amazed.

Aemond watched her smooth her hands over Vhagar's scales.

"Climb on." He told her.

"I can't. I don't know how to ride a dragon."

"No one does until they do."

Daenera chuckled and smiled. "What if I fall?"

"Let's hope that doesn't happen." He said and helped her climb Vhagar.

Aemond climbed up and sat in front of her. "Wrap your arms around me." He told her.

She took a deep breath and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Hold on tight." He said to her as Vhagar began to fly.

Daenera squeezed her eyes shut and wrapped her arms around Aemond as tight as she could.

"Not that tight."

"Sorry." She whispered, then opened one eye. "Oh my god."

Aemond looked back at her and gave her a closed lip smile. "You like?"

"I do." She whispered.

Aemond nodded and pulled the reins, making Vhagar fly upward into the clouds.

Daenera took a deep breath and reached her hand up to the clouds. Aemond flew her over the entire city before going back to the castle.

"Holy shit that was amazing!" She said, grinning. Daenera was raised to be a proper lady, but the excitement she felt was too real.

"We should do it again sometime." Aemond said to her.

Daenera laughed and was about to hug him when she stopped herself. "Apologies for my behavior, my prince."

"Never apologize." He whispered to her and got closer.

Just as he was about to kiss her, his sister called his name.

"I need to talk to you now!" Saera shouted.

"You've got to be kidding me." He groaned.

Saera approached the two of them and turned to Daenera.

"Alone." She said coldly.

Daenera gave Aemond a small smile and walked away from the siblings.

"What do you think you're doing?" Saera asked him angrily.

"What's happening is that you just interrupted me." He said to her.

"You took her on a dragon ride."

"And?"

"That's our thing." She said.

"I've never let you ride Vhagar." He argued.

"Exactly!" She yelled.

"Okay seriously why the fuck are you even mad at me!"

"Because I don't see what you see in her!"

"Why do you care?"

"I don't." She growled.

"Feels like you do." Aemond said, rolling his eye.

"What does she have that I don't ?" Saera asked.

"What?" Aemond asked, confused.

"You heard me."

Aemond groaned loudly. "She's mature. Beautiful and kind, what's not to like?"

"She's a witch."

"Oh gods, Saera, please stop."

"I'm serious, Aemond."

"And how do you know that?" He asked.

"I just do. She must have put a spell on you or something."

"Then do me a favor and mind your business." He told her.

"I'm looking out for you."

"Saera. Stop." He said firmly. "I don't know why you're acting like this, but you need to stop." He said to her, then walked away.

Saera was in love with Aemond. She always had been, but she felt like he was slowly slipping away from her. It's true he never looked at her in that way, but she wished he did.
