^don't mind the "Brit Awards" In the back.

Today was the annual ball for the company. Liam stood in front of the mirror straightening out his suit. He was anxious since he was now representing the company in his fathers place. It was his first official speech in front of all the companies colleagues and guests.

He struggled to tie his tie out of nerves, because usually he could do it no problem. He sighed out as Zayn entered the room from the closet.

"What's wrong?" Zayn said as he tied his ascot around his neck.

"I can't get this tie right." He said huffing and unraveling the tie once more.

Zayn moved in front of him to grab the tie, looking up at his frustrated face. "Maybe you don't need a tie." Liam looked to him defeated.

"You wear one everyday. I think you could do without it." Zayn giggled. Liam looked so out of it and it made him laugh a bit.

"Maybe I should wear one of these." Liam lightened up as he flicked Zayns accessory.

"Sorry I only have mine." He said leaning up to peck Liam's lips.

The older boy sat on the bed and sighed out again. Zayn touching up his hair looked in the mirror to Liam. "What's wrong now?"

"No I'm just thinking. A last year my dad announced that I'd be taking over. Just can't believe it's been a year." Liam looked at his gaze in the reflection.

Zayn stopped. "Yeah it's crazy to think about how fast it all went by." He turned and stood in front of Liam reach for his hands.

"You ready?" Zayn asked

"Yeah. Let's go." Liam said kissing his hand as Zayn smiled and ruffled his hair. The model grabbed his phone then walked out the room as Liam followed.

When they arrived at the event all the cameras flashed in their face. Liam firmly grabbed Zayns hand as they headed to the carpet to take some press pictures. They posed and then walked inside the venue

The event just started so they had some mingling and networking to do. Since they'd be getting married in one weeks time, tons of people asked about it. They soon separated and made their own individual rounds.

Liam joined Louis who was chatting with Geoff, Yaser, and their friends. His father was always good at convincing you so Liam was glad Louis decided to take up real estate.

"I take my exam after all the wedding festivities next week." Louis said holding a champagne flute.

"I know you'll pass and I can't wait get you in with a brokerage. At least you'll have my properties lined up!" The man said patting his shoulder.

"Why thank you Mr. Payne I appreciate that, but If you don't mind I'd like to get my first listing myself." Louis respectfully stated as he saw Liam approach.

"Yeah let the man breath first!" Yaser joked.

"Of course, of course! Ahhh Liam my boy. Are you ready for your first speech?" He patted his shoulder as well.

"Yes I am. I tried to practice it word for word but I think I'm just going to wing it." Liam held his glass that was filled with a non alcoholic mix. Occasionally he'd have a drink but he also knew his limits. For the most part though, he was still trying sobriety.

"Don't worry. Over time it gets easier. I remember the first few years I would choke ever speech." He laughed as the other men standing joined. Liam joined them in a brief conversation.

Zayn was deep in conversation with all his moms old friends from when she was a model. Everyone was eager about the wedding so they kept asking Zayn all the questions about their future together.
