Sorry it's just a shortie! Enjoy!

Rory woke up in the ambulance and immediately started to panic. The paramedics tried to calm her but not only was Rory confused but she was terrified as well. Her meltdown didn't last for long after one EMT gave her a sedative shot in the thigh. When she arrived they immediately began to test for various issues all while keeping an eye for another outburst.

She awoke, calmly, half was through the CT scan. "Please, get me out of here."

"Ms. Harvelle, remain still."

"Get me out!" She snapped while moving furiously in order to purposely ruin the scan.

Slowly the pulled her out but she refused to get back on the gurney. "Ma'am don't you want to find out why you lost consciousness?"

"No, I didn't eat lunch that's all. What other tests did you do?"

"EKG and blood work. That's it."

"Alright. Whatever. I just want to go home."

"We can't discharge you." The nurse came back at her adamantly. "We need to be sure you're stable."

"You think this is the first time I'm refusing treatment? I'll sign the AMA paperwork, just get me out of here."

The nurse relented and brought her back to an ER exam room while to wait. Happy was already there, chewing his thumb nail, when Rory was rolled in sitting reluctantly in a wheelchair.

"Hey," she forced a smile. "We gotta stop these meetings."

"What the hell happened? Did he hurt you?"

"No, he didn't." Rory got up and carefully sat in his lap. "I didn't eat this morning and I didn't have lunch. It was me. I was being stupid." Usually Rory would be completely honest with Happy but she couldn't just then. "Benny was actually boring."

He looked over her face and although he didn't believe her, Happy nodded and kissed her. "You got some cuts." He kissed down the side of her face along the few scrapes from the gravel. "You wanna get something to eat?"

"Yeah. Screw these people. I'm not waiting for them. Take me outta here?"

They went, after calling Tig and Bobby who had Emma, to grab burgers and milkshakes. Rory outlined her conversation with Benny which was pointless but Happy had more than enough from Reggie to take Benny down.

"Shit, so what's going to happen?" She shoved a French fry into her mouth.

"Clay's on his way, we have to take it to the table but I'll get my chance with him, don't worry."

"You'll kick his ass for hurting your old lady?" She grinned a little as he nodded slowly. "I'm sorry I scared you today."

"You gotta take care of yourself, little girl." He reached over and pushed her shirt off her shoulder to reveal a large palm sized bruise. "That from the fall?"

"Yeah, it is." It wasn't and she knew it wasn't. "When can we go home?"

"Let me pay and we can go."

"No, Hap, back to Charming. I don't give a shit about Benny. I just want to go home with you and Emma."

Happy eyed her suspiciously. "Soon. You can start packing whenever you want. Are you sure you're okay?"

Rory nodded and stood. "I need some air. I'll be out front." Hurrying outside she leaned against the side of the building and felt sweat begin to bead on her forehead and her heart rate quicken. "Fuck," she said taking deep breaths. In an effort to calm herself Rory closed her eyes and and focused on her breathing.

"Hey."

She gasped, startled by Happy's presence. "Shit, you scared me."

"Sorry. Come on, let's go."

Extending his hand, Happy felt Rory's clammy palm as she took his and they walked toward his bike. "You okay?"

"I'm great." She forced a laugh. "It's just the dry Tucson air. Take me home, Hap."
