19-Awake

*leahs pov*

I wake up to the sound of my alarm and lift my head up to turn it off. It's five in the morning and I usually get to work around six thirty. I look over at Jennifer and she's lying in the exact same position from last night. I check her pulse and she's still breathing.

I sigh and get up before gathering my stuff together. I go and knock on the door to Monty's room before peaking my head in. Monty lifts his head of his bed and looks at me. "I'm leaving, please check up on Jennifer while I'm gone." I tell him.

"I will, I promise." He says and I nod before shutting the door. I leave Jen's apartment and head home. Once I get home, I take a quick shower, do my makeup and put on my clothes.

I've been at work for an hour, and all I can think about is Jennifer. Luckily I haven't had any patients, because I'd probably be too distracted.

I've just been doing paperwork the whole time, and checking my phone. I don't know why since It's not like Jen is gonna text me, but I still check it.

I get through the day, very slowly, and it's finally time for me to go home. Well- I'm not going home, I'm going straight back to Jennifer's apartment. I'm not leaving her side until she wakes up.

Once I get to Jen's apartment, I walk in since it's unlocked, and I head upstairs. I open the door to Jennifer's room, and I see her still lying there. I walk in and set my stuff down in the corner of her room, then I look in the mirror to her vanity. When I do, I see Jennifer lift her head up slightly. My eyes widen as I'm looking through the mirror, then I quickly turn around and see her rubbing her head.

I basically run over to the bed and sit beside her. "Jennifer?" I say. She looks at me with her tired eyes and I feel this wave of emotions overcome me.

I knew Jennifer was going to be okay, but this was all just so scary. "Are you okay baby?" I ask. "I'm okay." She manages to say.

She try's to sit up and I help her. "How long was I asleep?" She asks. "Almost twenty four hours-." I say. "I was supposed to get breakfast with you...I'm so sorry." She says.

"It's okay! That was yesterday, it's in the past. I'm just glad you're okay." I say. She sighs and puts her face in her hands. "I'm so stupid." She says shakily.

"Don't say that. You're not." I assure her. "Yes I am. Why didn't I just say no to Vito??" She says, getting stressed out. "Because you were scared." I tilt my head.

"Look. You're awake now, and I'm here. It's gonna be okay." I tell her. She looks at me before putting her arms around my neck and hugging me. I put my arms around her waist and hold her tightly.

"Don't ever scare me like that again..." I say softly. "I'm sorry." She apologizes. We pull away and I give her multiple kisses. She laughs a little and I do too.

"Do you feel okay?" I ask her. "Just a small headache, but I'm okay." She assures me. "Are you hungry? You haven't-." She cuts me off. "Yes." She says and I giggle.

"I'll make you something." I say and stand up before heading to the kitchen.

I make her something quick and easy since I know she must be really hungry, then I head upstairs. "Here." I say and hand her the bowl.

"Thankyou baby." She says and takes it. Suddenly Monty walks in and you can see the relief in his face when he sees that Jennifer is up. "Jennifer!" He says and walks over.

"You okay??" He asks and squats down beside the bed. "I'm okay." She nods. "Jesus you had us both scared to death." He shakes his head.

"Thankyou for taking care of me, both of you." Jennifer says. "Yeah of course Jen. You stuck by me all those times when I was trippin balls. So imma stick by you." He says and Jennifer smiles.

"Where's Jules and Ant?" She asks. "Jules is still with Ethan, and Ant hasn't been home after the club." Monty explains and you can see the sort of hurt in Jennifer's face.

I mean it would kind of hurt my feelings too if I just went through what Jen went through, and my two closest friends didn't even know, and weren't here to help.

"Oh." She says. "Do you want me to call out of work for you tomorrow?" I ask. "No it's okay. I'll be fine to go." She says. "You sure?" I ask and she nods.

"I just wanna lay here today and rest, and I'll be good to go tomorrow." She says. "Yeah you probably shouldn't do anything today." I agree.

"I'm gonna go call Ant." Monty says and Jennifer nods before he walks away. I climb into bed and lay beside Jennifer.

I put my arm around her and lay my head on her shoulder. "You okay?" She asks. I look up at her, then I close my eyes.

"Don't ever do that to me again.." I say softly. "I'm serious Jennifer." I say. "I know." She sighs.
