Chapter Thirty-Two

I am in the writing mood so hollaaaaaaaaaaa!

I just realized people have been commenting on my first couple of chapters, I KNOW THOSE CHAPTERS ARE SO SHORT LIKE IDEK WHY I MADE THEM THAT SHORT AHHH.

And I've had a few complaints that my chapters still aren't that long due to all the spaces I put, but I like my stories better when it's not all bunched up so sorry if you don't like that! And I've been trying to make them longer.

I embraced myself for the kiss.

*Riiiiiiiiiiiiiing*

Startled, I pulled back as did Niall.

The mirroring looks on our faces expressed the same thoughts.

Our lips didn't meet and things became awkward.

One of the bells from a nearby game had sent a piercing ring through my ears.

I was relieved... but then again I was disappointed. I was prepared for the kiss. Like I was mentally prepared and I was expecting it and it didn't happen. I guess a little part if me really wanted it to happen.

As silence grew upon us, I looked the opposite direction so things wouldn't become even more awkward. It's not like I can go anywhere, I was stuck in the seat with the guy I almost kissed.

"You're lucky, you got yourself out of this kiss. I guess you are the winner. But I will get that kiss." He winked breaking the awkward silence.

Thank god. I didn't want to let this ruin things between us but thankfully Niall always knows how to make things less awkward with his humor.

"That's what you get because cheaters never win." I winked. "But I thought I was stubborn?! Good luck getting that kiss!" I teased.

"Don't worry, I will get it." He winked back with determination in his voice.

Things quickly went back to the way they were. The usual banter, flirting, and teasing. That's what our ride home consisted of.

Oh, Kate.

I grabbed my purse and slipped my feet into my flip flops.

As she said, she had pulled up within 5 minutes of sending me the text.

"Long time no see!" Kate stated as I got in her car.

"Sorry. I've been busy." I winked.

"I know. So are you guys official?"

"No... not yet." I smiled.

"Did he ask you out?" She got excited.

"Well kinda... It was on my birthday... but I turned him down..."

"What?! Why?! Are you crazy?!"

"I-I don't really know..." I said not wanting to explain the whole 'Josh situation' to her. "Where are we going?" I changed the subject.

"To the mall." She seemed really excited to go there. "There's a new store opening up and I really wanna check it out!"

"Look! Those are so cute!" Kate exclaimed, pointing to the identical bathing suits in two different colors.
