"Screw your cereal! I plan on taking a long time, and if you don't go in the shower-" She stopped in astonishment as I practically inhaled my food.

"No problem." I shrugged and walked past her, smirking. I placed my now empty bowl in the sink and headed upstairs to my bathroom.

I did as she demanded for the second day in a row, and showered.

As I stood in the hot water, excitement washed over me. I was pumped. I've been looking forward to this party all week. I just couldn't wait to have a good time.

I hurried into my room, just as I did yesterday, with my towel wrapped around me. I rummaged through my closet in search for my red dress.

I quickly pulled it off it's hanger and shimmied into it after putting on undergarments.

"Kate! Get your butt in here!" I yelled loud enough, making sure she heard me from downstairs.

It was around 3 or something.

I have to be ready by 7.

Handing her my blow dryer, it was like Deja vu. She did my hair the same as the day before, placing the brush underneath a section of hair, drying my hair within minutes.

Next was the styling part.

"Gimme your curler." She stated as I handed her the hot tool.

Wrapping perfectly sized sections around the steaming barrel, my hair was complete within an hour.

I tried peeking into my mirror, impatient to see how my hair looked.

I rarely ever curl my hair. I only do it maybe 5 times a year, so my curiosity was killing me.

"Nope. Not yet. Make up first." Kate pulled the chair I was sitting on further away from the reflective object.

She began to apply foundation, eyeshadow, mascara. You name it, and it was on my face.

"Ta da! You're done!" She had a smile of satisfaction spread across her features, as she waited for me to look at my reflection.

I was worried I looked like a clown. It felt like she put so much make up on me.

Without hesitating, I stared at myself in the mirror.

Oh.

My.

God.

I stood in front of my full length mirror, admiring my reflection. The way the dress fit snug in all the right places. I didn't remember it looking this good on me.

My makeup was perfection. It looked like a professional had done it, it was amazing.

It brought out my blue eyes and made them pop.

I looked a lot more mature.

I turned to Kate, who had the same look on her face.

"Thank you, Kate!" I hugged her tightly.

"Anytime, girl. It was my pleasure! And by the way, you look absolutely beautiful!" She smiled and I returned one. "I'll leave you alone to finish getting ready."

With that, she closed my door and I was by myself.

I found the box of heels that was hidden under my bed. I slid the cardboard cover off and tossed it aside. Pulling out the silver pumps and sliding them on, I returned to my position in front of my mirror.
