Taming the Darkness (Series 3)

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

"HOW long has it been, Feruseah of the Sins? It's been quite a while since the last time we've seen each other," Caleb said while wearing a playful grin.

Zenaia strike him with her black flames as an answer which he sloppily avoided. Bumakas sa itsura nito ang pagkabigla habang tinitignan ang nawasak na lamesa na siyang tinamaan ng itim na apoy ni Zenaia. Nang ibalik niya ang tingin sa dalaga ay muli siya niyong inatake.

"Damn!" He kept dodging her attacks which is gaining speed as the time passed. "She had completely lost control of herself." Pansin niya. Unti-unti na ring nawawasak ang mga kagamitan sa loob ng opisina ni Veseva. Napailing siya. "Siguradong malilintikan ako nito kay Envy."

Zenaia kept on coming after him. Her flames smashed the glass window and Caleb took that as a route to get out of the room. He flashed outside and waited for her to follow him.

"What the---? Caleb! Anong nangyayari?" Gulat na tanong ni Veseva na siyang patakbong nagtungo sa likuran ng bahay kasunod si Cedric nang marinig ang komosyon.

Caleb grinned and glanced at the mage as if he wasn't being attacked at all. "I just said 'hi' to the former host of the Sin of Wrath."

There was an explosion after he said that and then a ball of black flames suddenly came out of the broken window aimed at Caleb. The teenager immediately jumped out of the way and landed on a tree branch. Veseva and Cedric stared at the ground in alarm. Nag-iwan lang naman ng malaking uka sa lupa ang itim na apoy na iniwasan ni Caleb.

"Whew! She almost had me," anito at napapunas pa sa noo habang naka-squat sa ibabaw ng sanga at pinagmamasdan ang uka sa lupa.

Hindi nagtagal ay lumabas na rin mula sa bahay si Zenaia. Tumalon ito mula sa ikalawang palapag at walang hirap na nag-landing sa damuhan. They were all astounded at her features.

Zenaia's skin have gone very pale. They could see the purplish veins from the side of her face, neck and even on her arms. Her eyes have turned red against black eyeballs. And her hands are clenched into fists which are covered in black flames. She looked out of control and there is not a sign of recognition in her eyes.

"Caleb! Anong ginawa mo?" Galit na tanong ni Veseva habang pinagmamasdan ang papalapit na si Zenaia. Muli nitong itinaas ang mga kamay tanda na naghahanda ulit itong umatake.

"I just made her a little angry to show that side of her. I didn't know that it will actually work," sagot ni Caleb. Nakangisi pa rin ito at tila tuwang-tuwa sa ginawa.

"You foolish brat!" Inis na bulyaw ni Veseva.

Sabay-sabay silang umiwas nang paulanan sila ni Zenaia ng mga bolang apoy.

"Remind me to kill you after this!" Sigaw ni Veseva kay Caleb bago naghandang harapin si Zenaia gamit naman ang kaniyang berdeng apoy.

"Anong gagawin mo?" alalang tanong ni Cedric. "You'll end up hurting her."

Veseva hlared at him. "I couldn't fight her without hurting her, Cedric. But, I need to knock her out at least," sagot ni Veseva.

Nang akmang aatakihin na silang muli ni Zenaia ay bumulong ng enkantasyon si Veseva. Soon, big roots covered in green flames came out of the ground and wrapped around Zenaia's arms and legs, keeping her locked in place.

Zenaia hissed in anger and glared at the roots that keeps on coming and snaking around her legs and arms. Muli itong nagpakawala ng mga itim na apoy dahilan upang walang hirap na masunog ang mga ugat na nakapulupot sa katawan nito. Muling bumulong ng isa pang enkantasyon si Veseva dahilan upang mas madagdagan at kumapal ang mga ugat.
