I quietly walk towards my English class. I’m beyond irritated with Maddox today. No, he didn’t do something idiotic this time, instead, he hasn’t even shown up at all! And the worst part in all of this was when I had to wait for him! I even skipped my first period! He made me wait, but he didn’t even dare message me about not coming.
“Fuck!” I say, trying to pick up my bag. “When I get my hands on your neck Maddox,” I snare, “you won’t be able to see the light the following morning.”
“What’s that sweet cheeks?” I mischievous voice calls.
I turn around, glaring internally at the boy. “Maddox Fucking Peredon!” I charge at him, not caring about my wobbly feet. I notice his attire up closely, “Why are you wearing a tux Maddox? It’s not Halloween for you to wear a costume!”
Maddox signals me to stop, “Stay there sweet cheeks,”
“No,” I demand, “I will not stay here. You’re bringing attention! Go change before this gets to our school website!”
“Nope, close you—“
I huff, “I will not close my eyes.”
“Fine then, the sooner you do, the sooner this will be over.” Maddox smiles, cheekily. “I have to show you something.”
I close my eyes, feeling a blindfold cascade my eyes. “What are you doing?” I question him.
Maddox takes my hand and drags me with him. I feel the hot rays of the sun connecting against my skin, “What are we doing outside?” I ask.
I hear a soft beat of music playing, “Shut up and dance with me,”
The blindfold is taken off, I see a lots and lots of balloons crowd together like a big fluff. My eyes widen in amazement.
Maddox is standing in the front of the field, “Oh don’t you dare look back. Just keep your eyes on me.” And that was it, he was singing, ‘Shut up and Dance’ with the other guys. And not only was singing, he was dancing in a tux with shirtless boys that have my name painted on their bodies.
“What the hell is happening?” I quietly question.
“This woman is my destiny,
She said, “Ohh, Shut up and dance with me””
Maddox sings out. I wanted to laugh, he was being so silly. He puts a chair at the back of me, making me sit down. He hands me a bouquet of white and red roses, sending me a wink.
“I said, “You’re holding back”
She said, “Shut up and Dance with me””
After that song, a new song plays and I’m awestruck. He knows my favorite song, and I didn’t even tell him.
“Today is a winding road that's taking me to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa (whoa, whoa, whoa)
Today in the blink of an eye I'm holding on to something and I do not know why
I tried”
I stared at him in amazement, not only a few moments ago I wanted to strangle him. I haven’t experienced such thing and its making my insides turn into mush. Wow, he was right. He would do anything just to make our relationship work.
“Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another

Once the music stops, they all stop dancing, “Sweet cheeks look at me.” Maddox says. I do as he says, lifting up my head and directly look at him. “I know that I’ve been the biggest dickhead in your life, and you’re probably irritated with me because I didn’t walk you to class. I planned my move ages ago, but I was a wimp, so why not try it out now?”
“Anyways, I’m glad that I have you as a mate. I admit that were always fighting about the littlest things, but I do it only because you’re like a tiny little ant trying to fight someone who’s thrice your size. And yes, I do it on purpose because I love to tease you…it gets me all worked up and confident. I don’t expect much in our future relationship, together. I just want to see you happy with me loving you the way you’re supposed to be loved. And like I’ve said before, I’m afraid of losing you. I’m afraid that one day, when the sun rises up and you’re next to me cuddled against my chest, I’ll forget about you. I’m afraid that if I ever forget about you, you’ll stop loving me the way I loved you. Until now, I’m afraid that you’ll see someone better than dickhead like me, but hey, who wouldn’t love me?” He cockily states, “Okay I’m just kidding.”
“I actually thought about what I was going to say in front of you first before this all happened, because honestly, whenever I see your face I always forget what’s happening around me.” Everyone says ‘aw’ at the field. “Sweet cheeks will you like to go on a date with me?”
“No!” I scream, “I WOULD LOVE TO GO ON A DATE WITH YOU, OGRE!”
Maddox jumps in joy, yelling “YES!” multiple times. He runs up to me, giving me a big bear hug, making us fall down backwards.
I gasp in pain, “Maddox you’re hurting me!” I say, breathlessly.
“Aw, shit” He stands up, fixing the chair making sure he doesn’t hurt my leg. When I’m okay, he continues to jump around, “I’M GOING ON A DATE BITCHES!” He takes out his top and runs around the field screaming, while rotating his top. “WOHHHHO I’M GOING ON A DATE YOU MOTHAFUCKING ASSES!”
I felt myself smiling.
