WHEN MAY HEARD OF A TRIP THAT SOME OF THE ARKADIAN'S WERE GONNA TAKE TO AN ISLAND, she knew she had to go. she more so wanted to, especially that murphy, abby, and raven were going. she knew it were going to be a long trip as well, which is why she made sure to pack a couple of her belongings and change of clothes into a duffel bag that she carried over her shoulder.

and because she were going to be there awhile with the team, may knew she had to bring nini. the young girl didn't mind tagging along, her only mindset being wherever may was, she wanted to be there too. nini was dressed in more comfortable clothes, and no longer layering her body to stay warm with itchy knitted fabric. she had her hair braided long down her back, wearing a purple long sleeve and leggings, her body clean of any dirt or muck she was always used to.

hand in hand, may fernsby and nini approached the island with the rest of the group, all of them amazed at the islands beauty, but making sure to stay cautious as they had no idea what dangers it could bring.

all of them stopped simultaneously when emori did, her expression seeming nervous as she stared at a dystopian pole in front of her.

may furrowed her brows in concern, being the first to speak up and ask the question everyone else was wondering, "what's wrong?"

"alie's rules—no frikdreina past this line." she let out a breath, glancing to the others anxiously, "i've never crossed it."

"frikdreina?" jackson questioned emori in confusion, unsure of what the word meant.

"mutants."

murphy shrugged nonchalantly, "i've never met a line i wouldn't cross." he then proceeded to walk past the pole, giving the others the reassurance they didn't think they needed.

"we won't be welcome here, maymay." nini spoke to the eighteen year old, gripping onto her hand tighter.

may smiled at her reassuringly, before guiding both her and nini past the dystopian pole. "see?" the eighteen smiled again, "easy. it's okay."

as everyone hiked their way up a small hill, they were greeted with the sight of a forest that seemed to go a long way, thankfully they had a map, and knew where they were going.

may and murphy were giggling at a memory he had brought up, but their laughter was cut short when a soft sound of buzzing was heard.
