My eyelids flutter open to see a white ceiling. I feel at peace; at ease to begin with, then it hits me. I sit up quickly; I'm in a clean white room; in a hospital gown; all by myself. Myself? Who...am I? It's all blank. What's my name? Where do I live? What happened to me?

Faint whispers in my head echo: Hold on Avy

I look down and i realize my hands and feet are handcuffed to the bed. Why am I-

My thoughts are interrupted by someone bursting into the room. A boy with dirty blond hair. He looks at me, sadness and relief appears on his face. He rushes towards me.

Don't let him do it again

I try to shrink away from him, but my bound limbs restrict me.

He grabs me and hugs me tight. He is crying too.

"Oh Avy, you're alive! They said you were dead but you're okay! You're okay." He's now sobbing into my shoulder. I am still afraid, but I can't help but feel sorry for this boy, he obviously misses me dearly and I have no idea who he is.

I think he is about to say something when two people burst in to the room; A tall, slim boy with brown hair and a bruise on his face. And a man wearing a doctor's coat.

The Man grabs the boy hugging me and punches him in the face. The boy is knocked off his feet on to the bed, but gets up quickly. He is infuriated and swings a punch at the man, who ducks out of the way.

A full on fist fit has broken out leaving me frightened and confused. Who are these people and why are they fighting in my room?

The brown haired boy with a bruise on his face suddenly comes over to my bed and releases my bound limbs. Then he grabs my hand and rushes out the room taking me with him, leaving the man and the blond haired boy fighting in my room.

I try and slow down but the boy keeps running.

"Oi let go of me! Who are you? Where are you taking me?"

"Just keep moving. We need to get out of here now." He says urgently.

"Now Just a minute! I am not going anywhere with you, I don't know you." I grind my heels into the ground which slows him down.

He stops abruptly and sighs impatiently. "Avy, we really have not got time for this. I know you don't remember me, but I am not explaining everything now. So stop being a diva and come with me!" He goes to pull me along again but I pull back.

"Right, that's it!" He yanks me toward him, lifting me over his shoulder in a fireman's lift, he immediately continues running.

"Hey! Put me down!"

He presses on, ignoring my protests. I hear a shout from the hall way behind us.

"Kaius!"

The boy carrying me stops and turns. It's the man in the doctor's coat

"Get to the elevator, quickly! Ahren won't be long in catching up to us."

The boy called Kaius nods and follows the Man to the elevator.

I wriggle as they enter and press a button to close the doors.

He finally puts me down.

"Excuse me! Why are you kidnapping me? Who are you people?"

The Man shares a solemn look with the boy Kaius.

"You forgot everything again?" He asks.

"Well I think that's pretty obvious. And what do you mean 'again'?"

The boy Kaius interjects, "Anthony, what are we gonna do? Where can we take her that he won't find her?"

"I don't know. But for the moment we need to get out of this building and get her memories back."

I listen to their voices as they talk. They do seem familiar.

"Do I know you both?"

They stop talking.

"Yes. We are trying to save you from that boy you just saw back in that room. So you will just have to trust us."

I am unsure, but it seems to be the only option.

"So where are we going?" Kaius asks.

"Up is our best bet. The exit is on the third floor, but Ahren will have people posted at it. I don't think they will expect us to head for the roof, so that's where we should go." He pushes the button labelled 'R'.

I stare at the man known as Anthony. He isn't that familiar to me.

I realize just then that Kaius is staring at me.

"I can't believe I had just got you back, and now you are gone again."

"Sorry. Were we close?"

"Darn right we were close, I'm your boyfriend."

My eyes widen. I feel myself blush. Which makes him smile.

The elevator grinds to a halt and makes a ping noise just before it's doors open.

Anthony runs out first. Then Kaius, taking my hand hesitantly and gently, follows his lead.

I notice that the elevator immediately closes and I see the numbers decreasing on the dial above- its going back down.

Anthony peers over the wall to his left, then jogs over to the one straight ahead.

Kaius asks the question that's on my mind.

"What are you looking for?" He practically shouts over the wind.

"A ladder. There should be one attached to the building somewhere."

"Are you sure it's safe?" I ask.

"It's safer than trying to get out any other way."

The familiar 'ping' sound emanates from behind.

I see a look of dread wash over Kaius' face as he squeezes my hand tighter.

The elevator doors slide open. And there, panting with fury, stands the blond haired boy- Ahren.
