I lie on my bed waiting to be taken for medicine. And something is swirling around my head. Something Ahren said to me. It's...oddly familiar:

"Gorgeous rose among thorns." I repeat to myself.

Why is that so familiar? My head hurts.

I remember something fuzzy; someone protecting me, telling me everything's alright. Who? Why?

I don't have much time to ponder it when my guard comes in and escorts me to the testing room.

"I heard about your little adventure this afternoon." Dr Anthony says, as he draws the light blue liquid into the strange device.

"I only went to explore for a bit." I say innocently.

He tuts, "well usually, we plan on doing some tests; giving you time to recover, and making sure you are...stable enough."

"But its okay, Nothing happened. I just met a few of the other patients."

He shakes his head, "I'd rather you didn't."

Before I have a chance to ask him why, he changes the subject.

"Now this device is our new way to administer your medicine. Like a modern syringe, but with just a tiny needle on the end." He is right, it does look like a modern syringe. It is a long, thin cylinder with a tiny looking pin on the end. "You will be getting this daily now. And I'll take some of your blood today. You will be getting that done once a week after today."

I take a deep breath. The idea of that is somewhat unsettling.

He comes closer and presses the strange syringe to my neck. An odd place to inject i think.

Just a rather sharp sensation emits from the area. but it is over quickly.

I can see he is wary about taking my blood again. "Now Thalia, I don't want you being difficult this time, okay?"

I nod. So he does it. I resist but I don't fight.

"Good, see? It's okay." He talks to me like I'm a puppy.

A puppy...I think I... "I think I had a puppy." I say, suddenly recalling old memories that I didn't know existed.

"What makes you say that?" He says nonchalantly.

"I don't know I just...feel like I had one. Like a faint memory of one is there in my head."

He nods slowly in acknowledgment.

I thought he'd be excited that I'd remembered something. Maybe he doesn't want me to remember in case I return to my old psychopath ways.

"You can go in the garden tomorrow if you like. You need to get some fresh air."

That sounds promising, I like outside. Well I think I do anyway.

"Just don't talk to that boy."

I know who he is talking about. But I pretend not to, "Who?"

"The patient; Ahren. He's not stable at all, we don't want him rubbing off on you."

He seemed stable enough to me. These people are so sensitive. But maybe that's not the right way to think about people who are trying to help me.

"Dr Anthony, I have a question."

"Go ahead. And its just Anthony, please." He smiles.

"Are you sure I'm crazy? Because I don't seem crazy, I don't feel crazy. In fact, I feel perfectly in tact."

Anthony chuckles, "Well if you were before, you wouldn't know, because you have amnesia. And people don't always seem crazy, it's just when you see that side of them, and then you realize; wow, they have been insane all along." I feel like he's trying to hint something to me, but I can't catch on to what he's talking about.

"Get a good night sleep tonight. If you're outside tomorrow you might need more energy."

"Yes, I will. Thank you." I smile at him.

He sighs, "So polite," He pets my head, "You don't deserve any of this." His face saddens.

I don't quite understand what he means, but I seem to be on his good side so that is where I want to stay.

He walks me back to my room and I get ready for bed. I have no memories, yet there is so much for me to be thinking about. I wish I knew everything; that everything made sense. But nothing does really.

I take a look out of my window. It seems like we are in the middle of no where. Which I suppose is a good thing in case somebody was to escape.

I turn round to get into bed, but what I see standing in front of me makes me freeze on the spot.

A man; With a doctors coat on, and crazy hair that reminds me of a mad scientist's. Though he wears a doctor's uniform, something in his eyes is just not right.

He stares at me, eyes wide. A creepy grin appears crawls on his face.

I never heard anyone come in, how is he here?

I'm still frozen on the spot with fear. And his grin soon turns into and evil smile.

Without warning, both his hands are suddenly around my throat.

I grasp at his hands but he is squeezing so tight.

I can't breathe. I can't breathe, what do I do? What do I do?

I go into a state of panic. My eyes start blurring. But my vision is clear enough to see him seething through his teeth; so furious for no reason.

Then he says one thing, one thing only: "you're mad too."

Then suddenly, he's gone. Just as he had appeared, he vanishes as though he were never there.

I drop to the ground and am gasping for breath, coughing and spluttering. As soon as I can, i get up and stumble over to the bathroom mirror. I touch at my neck where he had grabbed me. Nothing. No bruise. No trace of anything even touching my pale skin.

What just happened?
