I try not to look too suspicious as i walk through the halls to Ahren's room. I know it's not far from my room, so I just need to be careful and not get caught.

I see his door. The sign on it reassures me that it is indeed his room.

I knock lightly. Then wait. Maybe he's not there.

I turn to walk away, but the door slides open.

But what I saw took me by surprise. Oh my. The man is shirtless.

"Av-Thalia hey what's up? I need to talk to you actually." He says quietly, and ushers me in.

I am still slightly stunned at his...em...what I saw. But there are more pressing matters at hand.

"What happened to you yesterday? How come you were in detention?" He asks.

I tear my eyes away from his perfectly sculpted body.

"Well, I don't exactly know why. But what do you mean 'what happened to me'?"

"We agreed to meet in the garden. Remember?"

I knew it.

"So Anthony was lying to me." I said quietly.

"About what?"

"He told me it was a dream; that I didn't go to the garden," I think about what else happened that day, "after I saw you, I blacked out in a corridor. Then when I woke up, It was yesterday morning and The rash on my hand was gone. Anthony said it never happened."

I see the anger flare up in Ahren's eyes, he runs his hand through his hair, "Do you see what I mean now? They can't be trusted."

I nod slowly, "I don't know why...I trust you." I say carefully.

Ahren leans against the wall and smiles, "I'm glad you do."

I hear him say something else, but I suddenly found myself staring at him. Lost in thought. I realize how frustrating it is not knowing him. Like when you recognize a scent and memories come rushing back. Except i don't recognize the scent and its like something is blocking these memories from returning. I can feel them waiting to surface. Like a faint whisper, they taunt me.

"Enjoying the view are we?" Ahren stands smirking, I hadn't realized he noticed me staring.

I snap myself out of it, I clear my throat and quickly shift my gaze to a spot on the ceiling.

He moves and I tense up a little. Oh he's just putting a shirt on. What a shame.

"You did always have your flirtatious side." He chuckles.

"Did I?"

"Yeah. It's almost like your personality traits are slowly coming back."

I smile to myself. Maybe soon I'll be the old me. But what if that's not good, what if the old me is...bad. I would like to know one thing though.

"You don't seem to like calling me Thalia. Is that really my name?"

He looks hesitant as if he's not sure whether to share something with me, "No, it isn't."

"What is it really? Why did you never tell me?"

"It's Avyanna. But I can't overwhelm you with information, it might not be good for you."

Something in my head clicks. Avyanna. That sounds right. It feels good to hear it.

I am suddenly brought to tears.

Ahren rushes over and takes my hand in his.

"What's wrong?"

"That's my name," I sniff, "that's my name; my real name. I just feel...so at home hearing it. I haven't felt that in a while." I smile at him.

He wipes my tears away.

"You know, you're so brave. You won't understand why, but I missed you. So, so much." He almost looks like he could cry.

A sudden question comes into my head, "Ahren. What...were we?"

A look of sadness falls over him at the word 'were'.

He steps closer to me, "You mean 'what are we'."

I stare into those brown eyes, oh how a girl could get lost in them.

"We are so much more than you think." He is very close now. Close enough I can feel his hot breath on my skin.

just as I thought he was about to tell me something, the door flies open.

Two guards stand at the door, anger quickly takes over one of them, "what are YOU doing in here?"

He reaches in and grabs me by the arm, yanking me out of the room. Ahren quickly reacts- probably not in the best way.

He right hooks the guard square in the jaw. Causing the other guard to rush over and grab Ahren and restrain him.

I stand there stunned to even move. The other guard soon gets up, rubbing his jaw, and takes hold of my arm again.

"We'll see what the doctor's want done with you then. You brat!" He spits at Ahren.

The other finally speaks, I notice he has a Scottish accent, "These kids have no respect for what the doctor's are doing for them." He sneers.

The first guard grins maliciously, "Take him to the Doctor. I'm sure he'll love hearing that you're up to no good again."

Ahren's eyes ooze with anger and...madness?

The guard suddenly starts dragging me away, nearly knocking me off my feet.

The other guard takes Ahren the other way.

I hear Ahren shout, "It'll be okay! We'll see each other soon I promise!"

I really hope we will.
