Tide and his younger sister, Rain, grew up on the streets after their mother died in labor shortly after having Rain; after stealing to survive almost got him executed, he began looking for less risky jobs. He started playing violin on the street, and for a while that was enough. But when Rain got really sick a few years ago he started "visiting" with some of the people who appreciated his music, and he went from playing music on the street to picking up customers on the corner. The name "Riptide Siren" became a secret he hid from his sister; a thing he prayed his mother couldn't see wherever she was. This went on for a while, earning barely enough to keep them alive. Doctors aren't cheap though, and neither are headstones. At 24 he buried Rain, completely penniless, and left home for the first time. He craved a distraction, one that alcohol couldn't give him. One that was louder than his music, and more satisfactory than a stranger's bed. He took to the road, determined to heal the broken pieces that remained of him, and he's doing his best to hide the ocean of emotion within him.
