Hawkins is a small midwestern town located in Roane County in the US state of Indiana, positioned about 80 miles outside of Indianapolis. It has an estimated population of 10,000 to 15,000. Hawkins is a largely quiet and uneventful town with the last major incident being a triple homicide in 1959. The greatest point of interest was the secretive Hawkins National Laboratory, one of several national laboratories which grew out of the scientific endeavors of the Second World War. Unbeknownst to the residents of the town, the lab hosted experiments for the controversial government program known as "MKUltra". These experiments yielded the births of a number of children with inherited psychokinetic abilities, who were in turn abducted and experimented on. These child test subjects were strictly confined to the lab's premises, their existence kept top secret by the authorities. This is the first draft that I wrote of The Man, The Dude, The Guy. This is a project that I started in spring 2025 and the premise of this was a crossover between a young Mick Foley during the Dude Love era, and Nicole from Class of '09, although I mixed some of my own personal experiences in there as well. Nicole doesn't play as much of a role as I initially thought she would and she's more like spectating the world and occasionally give her peanut gallery comments. The Man, The Dude, The Guy, and Kingdom Saints Wrestling are where I realized I'm not the type who can spend months on a project and instead I'm better at bursts and completing writing projects within a few weeks or so.

It borrows the world and characters from the anime "Overlord," but the plot is entirely original. This is not a light and pleasant story about a great, glorious, and righteous hero challenging an evil Overlord. On the contrary, it depicts a female character with significant flaws, fighting the toughest and most brutal battles against the Overlord in a dark world, and growing through these conflicts. There are two main characters: One, a quirky yet powerful girl. The other, a mature and steady male adventurer, albeit weak. They embark on a journey to battle the most powerful evil Overlord, Ainz Ooal Gown. So can they succeed? Note: There is almost no romance plot.

When Lena meets him she finds herself absolutely taken at the sight of his longbow and massive stag and falls in love with the prospect of becoming a ranger.
