Calder Voss spent his career deciding which dungeons were valuable-and which deserved to be condemned.
Then he discovered something inside Greymarrow Dungeon that the Adventurers' Guild never intended him to see.
They murdered him for it.
Calder awakens inside the same dying dungeon as a [Lesser Wooden Mimic - Level 1]. Mimics have officially been extinct for more than a century, and the Guild will return in thirty days to demolish Greymarrow and harvest its heart.
His only advantage is [Claim Property].
By completely consuming an object or crystallized monster core, Calder can permanently learn one of its properties: a sword's sharpness, a shield's reinforcement, a potion's regeneration, or a key's ward passage.
But every choice has a cost. The original item is destroyed. Calder has only three active property slots, and incompatible patterns can deform his body-or drive him temporarily feral.
He cannot overpower the Guild. He must outthink them.
Using the appraisal knowledge that once made him valuable, Calder must rebuild Greymarrow, protect the abandoned monsters hiding inside, and turn discarded salvage into earned evolution.
The deeper he repairs the dungeon, the clearer the truth becomes: his murder, the extermination of mimics, and the Guild's condemned dungeons are all connected.
Greymarrow's dying core has only one request:
Do not let them take my heart.
