In "Ensure That the Desert Does Not Grow", the ninth volume of "The Right People" series, Tom and his companions are drawn into a widening circle of intrigue that spans Europe and Africa. Their journey leads them through covert encounters, political maneuvering, and personal entanglements, as they navigate worlds where idealism and ambition collide. Along the way, they facilitate a clandestine meeting between a British intelligence operative and a man intent on becoming the world's most powerful hashish trafficker. Later, they accompany Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi on a journey to Mali, where he seeks to broker peace between the Malian government and the tribes of the country's north. In Timbuktu, they meet President Moussa Traoré and representatives of the Tuareg and Fulbe and witness fragile attempts at reconciliation. Returning to Tripolis, Tom and his friends encounter Oliver Tambo, the exiled leader of the African National Congress and a group of South African freedom fighters, further drawing them into the currents of liberation movements and geopolitical struggle. Amid these events, the long‑standing love triangle between Tom, Nikos, and Sophia finally finds resolution as Sophia discovers new love with a Nubian named Maher. As always, this novel is a work of fiction. Although grounded in extensive historical research, all characters - including historical figures - and all events depicted in the story are entirely fictional. New chapters are published every Saturday.

Love at first sight-perhaps it truly exists. That meeting was unplanned, yet maybe it had already been written by fate. Two souls who carefully guarded their hearts from uncertain feelings, feelings that would only disturb their inner peace. Two individuals who constantly protected themselves from placing their hearts in the wrong place, at the wrong time. By chance, the young man noticed a young woman helping her parents-a girl who tirelessly pursued her dreams while never forgetting her devotion to them. A girl who anchored her life entirely in Allah, the Most High. That was the moment he first encountered her. And yet, for reasons he could not explain, his heart beat faster than it ever had before. There was a calmness in hearing her gentle words, so soft and soothing to the soul. It was then he realized-he was falling in love. Even before he had the chance to greet her, her character had already captured his attention. She had a serene beauty about her, beautiful even without a trace of makeup upon her face. Her speech was composed and graceful, leaving anyone who heard it quietly mesmerized. A smile never left her lips, and warm greetings always followed her words. In his eyes, she was the embodiment of perfection. Though the woman could not see, it did nothing to diminish Haikal's admiration for her. Yet parental approval stood between them, especially the blessing of his mother. Haikal had always honored every decision she made, but he also longed to fight for the love he held. He stood at a crossroads. Would he surrender so easily to the feelings he had for Haura, or would he choose to fight for them-and find happiness in the end?

Passport? Check. A book of maps of every country in the world? Check. Backpack and small suitcase that contains everything I possess? Check. The world best, international traveling, treasure hunting dad and the most awesome stepmom who is more like my best friend? Check. And new, totally gorgeous English intern of my father's who's tagging along on our next adventure? Double check. Call me, Callie Landon, nerdy and I'd have to totally agree. I mean, how could I not be nerdy when I graduated high school at thirteen and double majored in college and got my bachelor's in both history and international studies by sixteen? Again, just call me nerdy. But I loved my life of travel. I got to see the world with my dad and stepmom, searching for treasure that was thought to be lost for hundreds of years...until we found it, of course. And now we were going on an expedition to find one of the most sought after treasures: the hidden treasure of the infamous pirate Blackbeard. With the three of us, plus Max Knight, my dad's new intern, we were sure we would be able to find it with the help of some clues along the way. But then there are always those other people who just happen to think that they can find it before you and are willing to do anything to stop you. Oh, that's always fun. But then again, it's always fun in the world of treasure hunting. (Book 1 in the My Life Series)
