Esta es mi experiencia; hijo de un afrodescendiente, de paso emigrante Colombiano en tierras venezolanas. Mi madre mestiza, mezcla de varias razas. Me observo en el espejo y lo que veo es a un joven "negro", por mi cabello, por mi nariz chata, por mi color de piel, por mis rasgos faciales, porque la gente me dice eso. Ya ni recuerdo que me convenció de dicha realidad. Si soy honesto por un tiempo me afectó las burlas, no entendía porque la hacían pero las hacían. Me ponían en contra de mi mismo, les estaba dando poder sobre mi, me dejaba influenciar por el cine de "blancos" dónde los negros siempre eran protagonistas secundarios o los malos de la historia. Hoy amo cada imperfección en mi tanto como mis virtudes y si no llegara a amarme como estoy diciendo; me perdonaría por ello.
