“Do you think we should wake her up now?” I hear someone whispering not-so-discreetly might I say. I then heard someone’s head being hit, accompanied with a hiss.
“Don’t speak too loud, you’re going to ruin the whole thing.” A female voice whispered, even louder than the previous voice. Maybe I am just hearing voices. I snuggled deeper into my pillows, but then I felt someone taking away my pillow from under my head. I instantly jolted up, thinking it maybe the monster from under my bed. Call me childish, but I love Mike and James from Monsters. Inc.
Anyways, what had happened next was unexpected. Confetti was being thrown on me. Instantly, all my friends, James, Landon, Cameron, Maria, Brian, Andrew, and Mom, Dad, and Nick had shouted in unison, “Happy Birthday Sienna!!” More confetti was being thrown on me, emptying the whole can.
I was shocked to say the least. I knew it was my birthday. I had just not expected that they all would go to this extent for a single day. My jaw dropped to see that my room was decorated so beautifully, that I had happy tears in my eyes.
“Baby, why are you crying? Don’t you like the decorations?” My father asked me, when I composed myself.
“Yes, YES I LOVE IT!”
One by one, my friends wished me a happy birthday with other sweet words, but Cameron’s had surprised me the most.
“Happy Birthday Thompson! I want you to open my gift the last.” He said, after hugging me. I remembered that I would probably be having morning breath, so I ran to my bathroom to brush my teeth. Shiz, I feel so bad, but I guess they all had to bear it cause it was my BIRTHDAY.
I don’t know how the many days passed by so quickly. It just felt like yesterday, when I met the greatest people in my life. I still remember how I met Maria. Our friendship was the most interesting story, it had started when we were very little. She was the bully and I was the nerdy little kid, but she grew out of her bullying, and offered me a hand everytime I fell. Literally. I love her for that.
The rest were looking at me like I was crazy, because I had this Cheshire cat smile on my face, that must've been way creepy.
“So….. Do you like it?” They all looked at me expectantly, and I scoffed, causing them all to be shocked.
“I don’t like it.” They all frowned, but laughed when I continued, “I love it! So much!”
“I knew you would. Basically I did the whole thing.” Cameron said, cockily, to which I muttered under my breath, “Conceited.”
“Hey I heard that----“ He was cut off, when Nick and Sam came running into the room.
“Sorry for being late Sienn. I was in the toilet. Happy Birthday sis!” He was running to me, an adorable pout on his face when he couldn’t reach my height. He tried to jump, but then I carried him so I could hug him.
I spun him around, to which he giggled. “Thank you sweetheart.” I said mockingly, as he thinks I treat him like he’s a ‘child’. He frowned.
“Sienna, maybe you should take a bath.” He said, causing the rest of them to laugh.
Sam interrupted, “I want a hug.” She spoke, beaming when I nodded at her. She ran to my arms, and cuddled me as she closed her eyes tightly, devouring the moment. “Happy Birthday Thompson!” She winked at me, causing me to gasp at the similarity of brother and sister.
Cameron chuckled, then carried his sister in bridal style downstairs, so that I could take a bath. The rest soon left, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
Would it be too cliché to say that this was the best day ever? Well so far at least.
I shook my head while chuckling to myself. I then did a happy dance and I knew I was probably looking like a weirdo, but I didn’t care, ‘cause no one could see me. Well, that’s what I thought.
“Nice dance moves you got there Thompson.” Cameron remarked, and that’s when I realized he had returned and was staring at me through the door the whole time.
I called out to him, “Stalker,” before closing the door on his face. I laughed when I heard him whine.

After a long shower with me humming and dancing, I headed downstairs with a sundress on, knowing that there might be plans.
The house was cleaned up a bit, and I had then realized that nobody was inside. I then smelled barbeque all the way from the living room, and I headed out to the backyard. I gasped when I saw so many of my other schoolmates present too. Amanda was surprisingly here, and she looked stunning as usual. She waved at me when she saw me.
“Where are your friends?” I asked her, when I realized that they weren’t here.
“Oh they’re on a short trip out of town. But Stefanie stayed though.” She pointed at the beautiful girl who was standing and talking to Landon at the other side of the backyard.
I was going to ask Amanda what happened and why she hadn’t gone to the trip, but I was interrupted when I heard dad speaking, “Guys, can I have your attention please?” Everyone went silent. “I just wanted to thank you all for coming at such a short notice, and I wanted to thank Sienna for being the greatest daughter a father could ask for. Hands down, one of the sweetest girls I know. After your mom Sienn.” He winked at me. I chuckled gratefully.
After he finished, he came and hugged me, almost cutting off my blood circulation, but I didn’t cared. I love him so much, that I wouldn’t comment. Next my mom said something privately to me, to which I was so happy.
The day went by amazingly, with tons of things to do. We did this faster eater race too. I had been tricked to win, since I was the birthday girl. All the other eaters were slowing themselves down.
The barbeque was overall amazing, and although it was a small celebration, I couldn’t help but think how my life shaped out, with all my new friends. Sometimes, I think that there’s a reason why I have these people in my life. I am the happiest today.
I couldn’t help my conscience saying not for long. Why, in the best moments, was there a feeling that something would go wrong? I shuddered at the thought and shrugged it off.
I greeted everyone and chatted happily. Then there was music blasting from the speakers. Sam and Nick came and started dancing to Shake it off, since they knew how much I loved 1989- Taylor Swift’s new album.
I beamed at the choice of the song and at the occasion, then as the song got over, they had told me that was my birthday present. “Did you like it?” Sam asked, to which I nodded and thanked them.
I couldn’t help but look for Cameron, as I hadn’t seen him for a while now, and I was getting restless to see him, talk to him, hold him, and stay with him.
Finally, the cake cutting time, to which everyone was present. I had seen Cameron coming back to the backyard. He looked nervous for something. I was just glad that he was present at the moment.
The chocolate cake looked so tempting, so I cut it quickly and fed my family members and close friends.
When I remembered the time Cameron smothered cream all over my face, I was determined that he shouldn’t do it this time. But when I tried finding him, he had disappeared again. I was upset to say the least.
After I opened Maria’s gift, I was so joyous. It was a friendship pendant, a half heart that wrote ‘best’ was for me, and the other half ‘friend’ was hers.
Landon had given me a cute watch that was of white colour. He knew how long I have wanted one for long, but I wanted it with my own money. When I told him, he said, “It’s your birthday. You are bound to get gifts, my friend.” I rolled my eyes, but was thankful nonetheless.
Andrew, Brian, and James had put together a photo collage of the times when we took selfies in school or a hang out. I laughed at the picture of Brian’s red face after Andrew had kissed him on the cheek in school, saving the memory in his phone afterwards.
Mom and Dad’s gift to me was a pet puppy, who was just brought to the house. It was a beagle, and I was so happy to get a puppy. I couldn’t control my excitement.
“Oh my gosh! Now I’m coming to your place everyday!” Maria exclaimed after she petted my puppy.
“What do we name it?” I asked.
Nick replied, “Tommy. I love the name.” He said.
“How do we know if it’s a boy or a girl?” Sam asked him, causing Nick to frown, with a thoughtful look on his face.
Cameron, who finally returned, said, “Your parents know the gender. He’s a boy.”
Both of the young kids grinned in excitement, playing with the beagle, tickling it.
“I have to show you something Thompson.” Cameron entwined his hand in mine.
“Alrighty.” I said.
He brought me to my room, closing my eyes when we reached, “Promise you won't get angry at how bad it is?” He asked.
“Why would I? I am sure it’s amazing.” I convinced him.
He opened my eyes, handing me a jar with a beautiful writing at the front, “52 reasons why I like Sienna Thompson.” It was the most heartfelt gift throughout the whole day.
“Cam. It's amaz---” I didn’t get to finish my sentence, as he cut me off with his lips touching mine, causing me to consciously put the jar on a nearby table, as he slid his arms around my waist, and I wrapped mine around his neck. His lips on mine were making me week on my knees.
He then asked for entrance, to which I mockingly refused. He bit my lip and I gasped, causing his tongue to play with mine, as we tilted our heads with our lips growing sore by the second. But we couldn’t stop, he pushed me further, causing me to sit on the bed. He pulled away for a while, leaving me breathless and wanting more. My lips were sore, and my face was probably as red as a tomato.
"It's." He inhaled deeply, "It's 52 reasons for 52 weeks in a year so you can pick one each week to brighten your day." He looked hopefully at me.
"You are the greatest, do you know that?" One look at his eyes, and what I wanted to say next was the most daring thing I would ever do.
"I." We both said at the same time.
"You go first." I told him.
He did, and what he said had caused me to look at him wide-eyed, "I love you."
I also wanted to say that, but I'm glad that he did first, because then I would be assured he loved me back.
He sat on the floor, waiting for me to respond.
"I love you too." I said, with real passion in my words.
"And I love you three, four, five." He patted my nose, and then asked me, "Can we cuddle?"
Since everybody must have gone home or something, I said, "Yes."
"As I laid my head on his chest, I wondered what I had ever done to receive such a wonderful boyfriend aka lover whom I love with all my heart and every part of me. So cheesy. With that I closed my eyes, and with the help of the soft sighs leaving Cameron's mouth. My concience was still telling me that something would go wrong. But I have learned to live in the moment. With that, I fell into a deep but slightly disturbed sleep.
