Chaeyoung woke up and looked at her watch. She realized that it was almost dinner time and she haven't taken a shower since they arrived so she decided to jump out of bed and take a bath. She went to the room next door and found her stuff neatly placed inside the closet. She also saw fresh clothes that was on the bed, a clean towel and a bathrobe.
She smiled knowing that Jennie prepared all this for her. She took a shower and dry her hair before she put on some clothes. She went down to the living room only to find out that Jennie is whipping up some dinner in the kitchen so she went there instead.
"That smells good" Chaeyoung said.
"Oh, you're awake. Just wait a little more, dinner's almost done" Jennie said.
Chaeyoung couldn't just sit still while Jennie prepares dinner so she took the initiative to set the table. Jennie looked at her and smiled. The cat-eyed girl served a delightful dinner that both of them enjoyed. After dinner they both settled on the couch in the living room and watch some TV.
"By the way, Jisoo dropped by" Jennie started.
"What? Why didn't you wake me up?" Chaeyoung said.
"You were sleeping like a baby and I didn't have the heart to wake you" Jennie found her own excuse cringy.
"Really? That's your excuse?" Chaeyoung looks like she wasn't buying it.
Jennie shrugged and focused on the TV.
"I should talk to her; do you have her number?" Chaeyoung asked.
"I don't" Jennie answered shortly.
"Maybe I'll just talk to her when I see her. Or better I'll just ask Lisa" Chaeyoung said to no one in particular.
"Rosie..." Jennie sighed.
Chaeyoung looked at her confused.
"Just... just don't get too close to Jisoo" Jennie said.
"why?" Chaeyoung asked.
"She's different" Jennie said.
"She seems nice"
"Yes, she looks nice but she is someone you don't want to deal with on a daily basis" Jennie explained.
"Jen, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. And besides, she offered to tour me around Reveland" Chaeyoung excitedly said.
"Why would you let her tour you if I'm here? I'm the one who brought you here so I should be the one touring you around" Jennie argued.
"I don't want to bother you. You have a lot of things to prepare for your proposal. I don't want you to waste your precious time on me" Chaeyoung explained.
"And your girlfriend might be upset if she knew about you taking care of a very sexy and gorgeous woman that isn't her" she added to end the discussion.
But Jennie wasn't that easy to give up. She is determined to at least convince Chaeyoung that she doesn't need Jisoo to tour her because she's there.
"Still, Nayeon will be away for we don't know how long. I'll get enough time to prepare everything and while waiting I'll take the responsibility to take care of you and that includes touring you around Reveland" Jennie said.
"Are you jealous of Jisoo?" Chaeyoung asked all of a sudden.
"What? No" Jennie denied.
Chaeyoung looked at her with those eyes that are hard to resist.
"Listen, you are still my fiancée until the day I propose to Nayeon, so it means that I'll still be in charge of you whether you like it or not" Jennie said.
"I'm not a kid anymore Jennie, we aren't kids anymore" Chaeyoung said.
"I'm giving you a once in a lifetime offer here Miss Park, we haven't truly acted as a couple who's in a relationship so let's do this for the sake of formality. I know that you are itching to ditch me so I'm assuring you that the moment Nayeon says yes you are free to do whatever you want" Jennie said.
Chaeyoung realized that it was really a good opportunity to experience what it really feels like to be in a relationship with Jennie but she knows that it will only add to her misery the moment Jennie officially calls off their engagement.
"Fine, if you insist" Chaeyoung gave up but deep inside she's only giving her heart false hope.
Chaeyoung shivered when a cold wind touched her skin. It didn't help that she just took a shower it was a chilly night and the cold weather made her sneezed.
"chhooo!" She sneezed and sniffed cutely.
"Why do you sneeze cutely?" Jennie asked smiling.
"What?" Chaeyoung is weirded by Jennie this time.
"Nothing. Do you feel cold?" Jennie asked.
"Hmmm" Chaeyoung nodded.
"Then you should wear a jacket. It can get colder as the night deepens" Jennie said.
"I'm too lazy to get my jacket, I'll be okay" Chaeyoung said and curled up into a ball and made herself one with the couch.
"chhoo!"
"Aish, you are really going to be the death of me" Jennie said.
"That's one of my charms, babe" Chaeyoung said smugly.
"Come here"
"Huh?"
Before Chaeyoung could even react, she already felt Jennie's arm around her shoulder and the other one over her waist. As if it isn't enough, Jennie tugged her closer to her causing Chaeyoung to burry her head on Jennie's chest. She snuggled closer like what she did on Jennie's blanket and savor sweet scent of her safe haven and Jennie pulled her closer even more.
For a moment Chaeyoung's heart is in her true paradise, one that she doesn't want to leave. After all these years her young and innocent heart didn't change. It's still beating for the same person.
It's still beating for Jennie.
"Can you change the channel?" Chaeyoung asked.
The news is on and the two of them aren't really interested in current events or any updates about the world crisis.
"What do you want?" Jennie asked her back.
"Mickey mouse" Chaeyoung answered.
"You like that rat?"
Then Chaeyoung hit Jennie on the chest.
"He's a mouse, stupid. And dude you like those capybaras and chinchillas. They're family!"
"Awwwiee!" Jennie whined.
"Serves you right" Chaeyoung said and stick her tongue out.
Jennie couldn't resist and pinch both of Chaeyoung's cheek.
"Why do you have to be so cute?" Jennie asked.
"As if you are not being cute yourself" Chaeyoung said.
Jennie made a face and changed the channel to Disney for Mickey Mouse.
"Mickeeyyy!" Chaeyoung shouted and Jennie just admired that childish moment.
When Chaeyoung settled her excitement, she sat between Jennie's legs and snuggled back to the older girl and was brave enough to encircle both of the cat-eyed girl's arms around her.
There you have it. The things that Chaeyoung would do to get a back hug.
And it feels like heaven.
"This feels nice. How come we do this just now?" Chaeyoung asked.
"It's your fault. You've been in and out of the country and sometimes off the radar. How can we do this if you are always away?" Jennie said.
"Hmmm" Chaeyoung didn't deny the statement.
"I never thought that staying in one place can be this peaceful, it feels nice" Chaeyoung added.
"Don't you have someone to snuggle with in those countries you've been to?" Jennie asked curiously.
"I only went there to race and to win and eat of course. I didn't give much attention if there is someone who want to take me to bed or something" Chaeyoung said honestly.
"That's a relief. I thought you were cheating on me whenever you go out of the country without me" Jennie said.
"Excuse me, I'm not like you" Chaeyoung said as a matter of fact.
"Well, you look like one" Jennie said.
"Yah!" Chaeyoung tried to free herself from Jennie but the cat-eyed girl didn't let her and trapped her even more in her arms.
"I was just joking! Don't leave me" Jennie said as she buried her face on the gap between Chaeyoung's neck and shoulders. Lucky for Chaeyoung, Jennie wouldn't witness her face because she's a blushing mess.
And both of them chuckled at how silly the two of them looked like.
"Of all the girls that you brought here, I can see why no one can resist you Jennie Kim" Chaeyoung said.
"I never brought any woman here" Jennie said seriously.
"Really? Even Natasha?" Chaeyoung asked.
"Yes, not even Nayeon" Jennie honestly said. She gave up, Chaeyoung will never get Nayeon's name right. Once was enough.
Meanwhile, Chaeyoung felt special that moment.
"I feel honored. So, I was your first?" Chaeyoung asked mischievously.
"Don't flatter yourself too much missy. Nayeon is just busy she doesn't have time to stay over" Jennie said.
"Still, I'm your first. Admit it" Chaeyoung insisted.
"That doesn't sound right" Jennie grimaced.
"Oh, it is in every aspect" Chaeyoung continues, looking seductively.
"I'm your first best friend, your first enemy, your first unofficial girlfriend and your first secret fiancée. I was even your first dance during the prom. I was literally your first in everything" Chaeyoung's long list made Jennie chuckled.
"You aren't my first kiss though" Jennie said.
That was what Jennie thought.
"Well, if you aren't busy gawking at other girls, I should've been your first kiss. And if only you accepted my offer then may I'm also your first-" Chaeyoung wasn't able to finish.
"YAH!" Jennie shouted.
"I was just kidding!" Chaeyoung laughed
The girl has a point though.
"Fine... you win" Jennie gave up.
Soon they were enveloped by a comfortable silence, Mickey and his friends are the only sounds you can hear and maybe some occasional giggles from Chaeyoung. It took a while before Jennie decided to break the silence which she regrets after since it only made things awkwardly awkward.
"Rosie..."
"Hmmm?"
"Do you want to come with me tomorrow?" Jennie asked.
"Where?" Chaeyoung asked back without tearing her eyes off of the screen.
"I'll drive Nayeon back to Seoul" Jennie answered.
It took a minute of silence before the blonde girl answered.
"You're all grown up. You can take care of yourself" Chaeyoung answered.
And besides the girl doesn't want to add more damage to her poor heart if ever she'll witness the two lovers and their moments.
"But you will be alone here" Jennie voiced out her concern.
"I'm all grown up. I can take care of myself. Besides I won't sit inside a car for another 6 hours then drive back? " Chaeyoung just rephrased her answer from a while ago.
"Okay..." Jennie said.
And Chaeyoung wasn't sure if it was sadness that she heard but oh well, the sound of her heart shattering into pieces is even louder than everything else.
