Ep 2: Play it hard to get

Jake walked towards the kitchen and opened the fridge the moment he reached his own house.
'What was that?'
He thought to himself.
"Something's bothering you?"
He almost choke as Sunghoon suddenly appeared with his bag of gummy bears all of a sudden.
"What the hell are you doing here Park Sunghoon?"
Park Sunghoon, His bestfriend and one of the major investor of both the Nexus Group and the Shim Group. He's also Hae-rin's acquaintance.
Sunghoon just arched his eyebrow, putting more gummy bears on his mouth and spoke.
"So what is it?"
He ignored Jake's question and asked him again. Jake shrugged his shoulder.
"None of your business. Just a small problem."
He said, putting the water bottle on the trash can that he just emptied and taking another one from the fridge.
"And what is it?"
Jake looked away, trying to think of some excuse that would satisfy Sunghoon's nosy side.
"Remember Jung Suhee?"
"The obsessed woman who kept following you? The one that started your fandom and ended up being a bunch of stalkers that mobbed you on the airport? The one who made you feel scared and uncomfortable? She hurt you just to take pictures and just touch you. That's really bad. She's so scary. What's with her?"
Jake nodded his head.
"She kept calling me yesterday. It's so annoying."
He said. Sunghoon rubbed his chin to think of how to get rid of her.
Suddenly, Jake's phone rang.
He looked at the screen trying to figure out who is the caller but then Sunghoon took it from his hands
"If it's not the ugly bitch? YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU SHOULD REALLY FUCK OFF WHILE I CAN STILL CONTROL MY-"
Sunghoon stopped talking as he heard the voice from the other side of the phone.
"...... Uncle?"
Jake facepalmed the moment he realized Sunghoon was talking to his father. Sunghoon froze on his position like a stone.
"Ahh- No- it's not you-... I was mistaken. I'm very very sorry. I'll give the phone to jake now."
He threw the phone to Jake's direction and shoved gummy bears unto his mouth just to shut himself up.
"Yes dad?"
Jake answered.
"What's wrong with Sunghoon?"
"Ahh nothing. Don't mind him."
Jake glared at Sunghoon's direction.
"Why did you call?"
He asked his father.
"You already know why."
Jake's expression hardened. Sunghoon noticed it and moved closer to hear what they are talking about.
"Is this about that girl?"
"Yeah. Why did you do that?"
"I did nothing."
"Exactly. You did nothing."
".... What am i supposed to do?"
"Oh god son. Are you playing dumb or you're just too clueless?"
"Neither of the two. I did nothing wrong."
He said, leaning on the kitchen counter. Sunghoon frowned his forehead, trying to decipher what are they talking about.
"You just dumped her!! You think it's not wrong?"
"Well, it's for her sake. What's wrong with it?"
CEO Shim Jaehwan sighed on the other side of the phone.
"Look, Son. You should at least know her first. I know she's on the tough side but i promise you. She's worth the time. Ask her out. I'm sure you'll like-"
"Oh there's the pizza delivery. I'll hung up now dad."
Jake glared at Sunghoon who swallowed all of the gummy bears on his mouth.
"Pizza Delivery!!-*cough cough! "
Sunghoon shouted trying to change his voice but failed because of the gummy bears stucked on his throat.
"I know that's Sunghoon, son. Please give her a chance-"
"Talk to you later dad. Bye."
He hung up the call after he bid his goodbye.
"What was that?!! You dumped someone?!!!"
Sunghoon looked at Jake as if he's proud of him.
"I didn't. There's no love interest on the first place."
Jake looked at his direction with an arched eyebrow.
"Ohhhh really? Not at all?"
Jake glanced at his direction. Sunghoon shrugged his shoulder.
"So who is she? From a famous family too? What's her business lineage? Is she cute? Hot? I wanna know!!"
Jake rolled his eyes and think of the best description for her.
"You remember our university dean?"
Sunghoon nodded his head. Thinking about the old lady on her glasses and gray hair, always have her eyebrows arched and nagging at every student she'll see.
"You mean that single lady on her menopausal stage that's why she's so salty with everyone?"
Jake nodded his head. Sunghoon laughed.
"Like her."
"That's awful! HAHAHAHAHA!"
He laughed. Jake hissed, finding his laugh very annoying.
"Mr. Park, what the hell are you doing here inside my house anyways?"
He asked the latter. Sunghoon's eyes widen up as if he just remembered something.
"Ow shoot. I forgot to tell you."
Jake walked towards the sofa as Sunghoon spoke.
"I fvcked up."
Jake turned around, Meeting Sunghoon's widened eyes.
"Don't tell me you got someone pregnant."
He hopped on the sofa and chuckled. Sunghoon followed him.
"No way, I always use protection."
Jake glared at him. Sunghoon chuckled at him finding him ridiculous.
"You know i'm kidding right?"
Jake's eyes even grew bigger.
"You are not using protection now?"
"Asshole."
Sunghoon rolled his eyes. Jake chuckled at him.
"So what is it?"
"I just spilled tea on Eunji's homework and she's mad at me now."
He said pouting.
"And...? Why are you here?"
"I want you to help her out making it again."
"You can do it yourself."
Sunghoon shook his head.
"Aniyooo she isn't even talking to me right nooow. I know she' ll like it more if you were the one to help her."
"And why is that?"
Sunghoon smiled mischievously.
"Nothing~"
"I'm calling the security."
Jake stood up and walked towards the telephone. Sunghoon followed him.
"Yah Jake-ah you're really calling the security to dump your bestfriend?"
Sunghoon yelled at him. Jake turned around, looking at him blankly.
"Yeah."
Sunghoon facepalmed and pulled him away from the telephone.
"Please just this once. Help me with this one."
Sunghoon pleaded. Jake sighed,
"Fine."
He sighed, he doesn't have any choice. Sunghoon is a tough rock. He doesn't know when to give up. Jake turned around and walked towards his room to change his clothes.

"We need to think of something to make him agree to the proposal. We need to close the deal..."
She whispered to herself, looking at Jake's profile scattered on her table.
"Dig deeper on him Jay. Make sure to take smaller details this time."
She said to Jay without even looking.
"Don't you think you are already going overboard?"
Jay asked her. She tilted her head.
"He's playing hard to get. I'll make sure to catch him no matter what."
She said, portraying no emotion on her face despite throwing a strong phrase.
'Jake Shim... I'll make sure to capture you no matter what.'
