You couldn't just leave the baby there unattended, so you took him with you. You don't know where you're going, but Sam thinks it's a good idea to call Dean and have his help. There are a number of monsters that are affected by silver, and the fact that you now have a baby they want in your hands, you're going to need Dean's help to figure all this out. You don't want to, yet you do. You're just a mess.

"Call him," Sam urges.

"You call him."

"I'm driving."

"Since when has that stopped you before?"

"Just call him!"

"Fine!" you yell and grab your phone.

You dial your ex-boyfriend and wait for him to pick up.

"Sam?"

"Guess again," you sigh.

"What do you want?"

"We need your help. Now. "

"What's wrong?" he asks.

The tone in his voice shifts when he hears how serious you're being.

"We're working this job, and we need you with us right now."

"I'm out, Y/N. I'm staying out."

"Mhmm, then why are you salting windows?"

"How could you possibly know that?"

"I know you, Dean, better than anyone. Look, please make an exception."

"For what?"

Sam's patience has run out, and he snatches the phone from your hand. You're about to protest when he places it on his ear and starts speaking.

"Look, we're thirty minutes away and I will drive to your door if you don't meet me."

Dean must have agreed because Sam told him exactly what we're dealing with, and who your stowaway is.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The baby was getting fussy just sitting there in the middle of nowhere while you and Sam wait for the older brother to show up. You had to do something or else he'll start screaming his head off. You got into the back seat and have been making baby noises and silly faces since then. The baby laughs, and you keep doing what you're doing. Happy baby means a happy life. Screaming baby means you wanting to blow your brains out.

It takes fifteen minutes for the eldest Winchester to meet you. You're teaching the kid about eskimo kisses, and so far, he's loving it. Damn, you really wish you hadn't given up your own baby. All you can think about is your forgotten daughter.

"Where is it?" Dean asks.

"Strapped down in the back seat."

Dean approaches the back seat to see your nose rubbing against the baby's. He laughs happily and reaches out for you. The love you have in your eyes is enough to make him look away.

"Alright, I'll help. First thing in the morning. Just don't go anywhere."

"Don't worry, we don't plan to."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following day, you and Sam were waiting for Dean to get done with Lisa so he could come meet you two. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about this baby and the monster Sam nicked. You know it freaked on silver, so that narrows the list fairly well. All you have to do is figure out what kind of monster you're dealing with, why they want babies, and what you're going to do with the one you have now.

He seems happiest when you're holding him or giving him some sort of attention. You don't know why, but he seems to connect most with you rather than Sam or Dean. Granted, Sam doesn't seem to connect with a lot of things, and Dean hasn't spent all of five minutes with the kid. So, it's up to you to keep him happy. You're going to do whatever it takes to do so.

"You're the cutest little baby I've ever seen," you gush as you gently toss the baby in the air.

He only goes about a few inches into the air before you catch him. It seems to entertain his tiny brain, so you stick with this method of keeping him happy. Dean pulls up in front of you just as you catch the kid. He sees how happy you look when you're with the baby, and it gets him thinking about the one you basically threw away. You're clearly the mother type, so why do it in the first place? He gets out of his car, goes to the trunk, and pulls out his hunting duffel bag. He's driving some rundown pickup truck you know he's not happy in. You don't know why he keeps his beloved covered up and locked away.

"Alright, so what do we know about this thing?" Dean asks.

"Well, uh, it was fast, and it freaked when I cut it with silver."

"Alright, so that narrows it down to–"

"A ghoul, zombie, shifter, and about a dozen other things," you answer as you place the child back in his car seat. He starts to make a fuss, but you kiss the top of his head. "I know, but we're going somewhere safe, okay?"

"I don't recall seeing baby-napping in the profiles," Dean scoffs.

"Yeah, exactly," Sam shrugs.

Everyone gets into the car, and Sam heads off in the direction of the motel you're staying at. It's best to keep a low profile, so taking the baby to a shitty motel is just the kind of thing you need. No one is going to ask questions about three adults–one female, two males–and a baby checking in. Usually, motels don't give two shits about what their tenants are up to so long as they get their money.

The baby boy is making bubbles with his spit, and every time you look at him, they pop. He laughs like it's the funniest thing in the entire world, and you get a huge grin on your face. Suddenly, his face scrunches up and he cries out before farting loudly. He looks like he's about to cry, and you know you have to get some supplies if you're going to take care of this baby properly.

"We need to get some supplies," you say from the back seat.

"I've got an arsenal in the trunk," Sam shrugs.

"Not that kind," Dean scoffs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's clear to you Sam knows nothing about taking care of a kid since he thought arsenal would be the best thing to take care of a baby with. Luckily for the baby, you and Dean know enough to get the right supplies. Sam doesn't know this, and you'll be damned if Dean does, but you've been doing all kinds of research on how to take care of a baby. Ever since you lost yours, you've wanted to be prepared for cases of emergencies. Now is one of those times.

You and the brothers walk in and out of the aisles trying to get stuff that the kid might need. You're pushing the shopping cart while Sam and Dean get the stuff.

"Alright, I'm pretty sure that there's some kind of paste or jelly you're supposed to put on their butt," Dean says as he scans the shelves.

"Like uh," Sam mutters and grabs the first thing he sees, "like that?"

"Yeah, grab that."

Sam drops two containers of the stuff into the cart, and Dean adds a big box of diapers to the ever-growing list.

"So, how do you know all this?"

"Lisa has a baby niece, so I've been on a few milk runs."

"Huh."

"Shut it."

"I just said, 'huh'."

"I just said, 'shut it'."

The baby starts making a fuss, and you look around you to make sure no one is looking. It would be very embarrassing if the baby kept crying and you three did nothing about it. To calm him down, you picked him up out of his car seat and started bouncing him in your arms. It only did so much good before he became fussing once more.

"Alright, we gotta get moving. We've got the waterworks in like, T-minus ten," Dean announced.

"Yeah, okay," Sam nods.

You break off into three groups–you go to the checkout counter to get the line started, Sam went off to get whatever Dean told him to, and Dean stayed in the aisle to gather the rest of the supplies. You all met back at the checkout counter in less than five minutes. However, by then, the baby was full on crying no matter how much you're trying to calm him down. Customers from all around the store watch in disappointment at the fact that you're not doing anything to calm your baby down.

"Y/N make it stop," Sam hisses.

"I'm trying, Sam," you sigh. You bounce the baby in your arms, but it does nothing. "Please stop crying."

"Everyone's staring at us like we're child abusers! Feed it!"

"We already did!"

"Then what?" Dean butts in.

"I don't know. You think I speak baby? Maybe he needs a diaper change."

"Oh God, I hope not," Sam winces in disgust.

You lift the baby higher so you can smell his diaper, and you get a whiff of something foul. He does need a diaper change, and he's not going to stop crying until you do so. You look at the brothers and give them two nods to let them know that you were right.

"Aw... what's the matter? What's his name?" an older woman asks after she approaches you three.

"Bobby."

"John," Sam says at the same exact time as you and Dean.

"Bobby John," you chuckle nervously.

"Hi, Bobby John. Aren't you handsome? May I?" she asks.

You're about to hand over the baby when you glimpse at the security cameras behind one of the registers. There, right on the screen and in front of your eyes, is the woman talking to you. However, her eyes are glowing in the same way a shifter does. You look back at her with a threatening glare.

"No, you may not. Get away from the baby before I stab you in your neck," you growl.

"Y/N!" Dean and Sam gasp.

All you can do is point behind you where they see the same exact thing you saw not moments ago. The shifter realizes she's been caught, so she does what she thinks might earn her the baby: she lunges for him. You're already backing away from her, and Dean shoves himself between you and the shifter. She realizes she's outnumbered, so she makes a break for it.

"I'll meet you in the car. Go!" you exclaim and practically throw your money at the cashier.

You grab the bags and hold Bobby John close to you as you dash out of the store. You look back to see Dean tackle the shifter and Sam on your tail.

"Go! Go!" he yells at you.

Bobby John is a lot safer in your arms than some car seat, so you don't worry about putting him in one as soon as you get inside the car. Sam jumps into the front seat and peels out of the parking space, racing by the entrance of the grocery store. Dean comes running out with a look of panic on his face, and he rips open the back door and shoves himself in. Sam peels out of the parking lot, and you look back to see the shifter watching you with narrowed eyes.

Bobby John is about to cry, so you lay him in the car seat as gently as you can with how fast Sam is driving. Dean reaches over and starts to strap in Bobby John, but he's having a hard time doing so.

"The hell does a shifter want with a baby, anyway?" you ask.

"You tell me," Sam sighs.

"How the hell did it find us?"

"Who designed this thing? NASA?" Dean grunts.

"Move, let me do it," you swat his hands away.

Bobby John stares at you with big blue eyes as you lock him into place. The poor baby looks as if he's going to cry at any minute, and you rack your brain to think of a distraction for him. You lift your left hand, and blue magic comes out in thin lines, swirling through the air. Bobby John goes from sad to happy in an instant, and he giggles at the streaks of sparkling magic. He tries to grab at it, but it's always just out of reach.

"Yeah, you like that?" you giggle.

"You know, it could have been following us this whole time. Since the baby's house," Sam theorizes.

"Alright, you know, we got to get off the road. Get Bobby John here someplace safe. Figure this thing out."

"You're so cute," you smile just as the kid lets out an infectious laugh.
