Monday came around making Blake disappointed. She really hated Monday's like every other person in the entire world.
"Alright class! Today I am your substitute teacher, your teacher had made a... leave of absence for the rest of the year so I will be here until they find a new teacher" Ms. Melon smiled.
Blake slouched in her seat and drew random things on the old desk as the substitute took attendance.
"Blake?"
Blake raised her hand and the teacher nodded at her before she put it back down. She blew a bubble and it popped loudly.
When class was over, she couldn't handle the rest of her classes. So she planned on ditching school.
Jace stood panting outside her classroom first period and she rolled her eyes at the jock.
"You know you don't have to keep doing this" she said as she intertwined their fingers.
"I'm aware, I want to though."
She rolled her eyes once more and they stopped outside his next class.
"You don't have to the rest of the day, I'm skipping."
"You'll get a detention."
"So? I'm not going to college" she shrugged.
He narrowed his eyes at her and she played with his hoodie's zipper.
"I'm not feelin it today, I'll see you after school."
"Let me ditch with you then" he said as he flashed her a smile.
"No, you want a scholarship. You haven't had a detention yet so I'm not allowing you to get one."
He groaned and the first bell rang.
"I'll just see you after you get off work" Blake said and scratched her temple.
"Okay, bye baby."
Blake sent him a tiny smile before giving him a kiss goodbye.
"Wait one more" he pouted.
She gave him a tiny snort before pecking his lips one last time.

Jace showered after he finished work and looked at the unread texts from Blake.
He groaned and rubbed his tired eyes. Today was a busy day at his work and his uncle kept him moving the past four hours.
"Jace?!"
"Yeah?!"
He stood silent for a moment and groaned when his mom didn't answer back.
"What mom?!"
Still no response so he walked downstairs.
"I said what!"
"Do not raise your voice at me" she scolded.
He groaned and sat on one of the island stools.
"What?"
"I need you to pick Avery up, she's at cheerleading tryouts."
"Why can't you do it?" he asked.
"Because I am making dinner."
Jace grumbled and grabbed his keys before going to pick his sister up.
He walked in his old middle school and walked straight to the gym where people who were trying out were packing up their stuff.
"Ugh you came to pick me up?" Avery asked.
"Yeah, moms making dinner."
She groaned and Jace grabbed her bag for her before she yanked it out of his hands.
"Stop! I'll carry it."
"I always carry your bags. What crawled up your ass and died?" he asked her as he grabbed her backpack again and put it over one of his shoulders.
"I'll tell you in the car, Collin! Let's go!"
Jace looked at Collin who was looking bored on the bleachers.
"Why is he here?" Jace asked her.
"He missed the bus and didn't feel like walking."
Jace laughed and the two kids followed after him and to the car.
"Sorry about earlier, all the girls think you're hot" she said and gave a little gag at the end.
Jace laughed and started up his car.
"Why not me? Some of them who are in my grade are a catch."
"They don't do anything because Tiffany has a crush on you and they are all scared of her."
"Tiffany?! As in the girl who acts out in like every class?"
Avery nodded and Collin whined.
"She scares me!"
Jace laughed as the two of them began talking about the girls at the middle school. Jace didn't bother listening though, only one girl is on his mind.
When he got home he parked his car but didn't get out.
"Tell mom I'm stopping by Blake's house and I'll be back before dinner."
"Ooohhhh!" Avery and Collin teased.
Jace rolled his eyes and Collin began making kissing noises making Jace hit him.
"Get out of my car bitchass."
He laughed loudly and they both rushed inside as he drove off.
Jace knocked on the door, seeing as Blake wasn't answering her phone and Susie answered the door.
"Is Blake home?" Jace asked.
"No, and even if she was I grounded her from seeing you."
Jace sighed and sent Susie a smile.
"Nice seeing you again Susie, take care."
He walked back to his car and got in. Her car was in the driveway so she must have taken her skateboard somewhere.
He drove around for a while, calling and texting her as worry began filling within him when the sun slowly started to set.
He stopped when he reached this house that was half built, there was still machines around the place with different tools and other necessities to finish the building process.
He saw feet dangling from the top floor and he saw a little bit of his girl's purple hair before walking up the steps carefully.
"You know, being up here is dangerous."
Blake looked over at Jace and shrugged slightly.
"Oh well."
"I kept calling and texting you. Why didn't you answer?"
"I turned my phone off."
"I was worried."
"I can handle myself."
"I know."
Jace sat next to her and grabbed her cold hand.
"Let's go back okay?"
She shook her head and looked at the trees that were across the street.
"Are you okay baby?"
"I just wanted to get away from everyone for a while, ya know?"
Jace nodded and gave her cold cheek a soft kiss.
"You're cold, lets go sit my car okay?"
She shook her head again and played with her rings.
"You don't think my dad is disappointed in me, right?"
Jace looked at Blake and it was the first time he's ever seen her look so vulnerable. I mean yeah he saw her cry one time but this look was different. She looked like a little kid who looked lost and confused.
"Of course not, why would you think that?"
She drifted her eyes down to her feet that were dangling and shrugged.
"I had a dream last night."
Jace pulled her to him and placed a soft, gentle kiss on the top of her clean hair.
"He would be so incredibly proud of you. You're so strong and independent and I bet that he is looking down at you smiling. He's definitely so blessed to have such a beautiful, strong daughter."
Blake smiled and leaned more into Jace.
"Thank you."
They sat there in silence, Blake enjoying the view of the night sky as Jace held her.
"Let's get you home, okay?"
"I don't like being there."
"Have you ever thought about getting a dog?" Jace asked her.
She shook her head and glanced up at him.
"My dad was allergic so we never had dogs in the house."
"You should think about getting a dog."
She shrugged and stood up.
"Are you able to spend the night?" she asked him.
"I can't tonight."
She nodded and grabbed her board before walking down the stairs and out of the half built house.
"I could if I would."
She nodded again and their ride to her house was silent. When he parked out front she grabbed her board from the back.
"We can fall asleep on facetime tonight if you want" he suggested.
She nodded once more and he leaned over giving her a kiss.
"See you tomorrow baby."
She smiled and gave him one more kiss.
"Later skater."
