Sayuki, Hide and Kaneki all sat together on the long red leather sofa in the living room, watching one of Sayukis all time favourite movies.

Hide didnt mind the movie so much but it was a pain watching it over and over again. He didnt get how his mum could watch it so many times with out it getting boring or annoying.
Kaneki on the other hand had never watched a movie before. Well, never a full movie. He used to sit by peoples windows and watch through it before they would shoo him away. So far Kaneki was enjoying the movie, mainly becuase of the talking cat and the other dad. He loved the sound of pianos, it relaxes him.
"Ooo this is where it gets good!" Sayuki cheered.
"Mum you're gonna spoil it" Hide said shooting her a look.
"Oo sorry hard" She said sarcastically.
Hide just sighed and looked at Kaneki who was sitting between them in a frog like position.
"You enjoying it?" He asked.
Kaneki kept his eyes on the TV, his mouth slightly open and nodded.
"Its the cat isn't it" Hide drew his eyes back to the TV.
Kaneki nodded again, still keeping his eyes on the TV.
"I think the best character is Mr.Bobinski, I always love watching the part with the mice circus" Sayuki said passionately.
Hide smiled at his mother, he loved how she could be so passionate over the smallest things.
"I like this" Kaneki said suddenly.
Both Hide and Sayuki turned their heads to face the boy in the middle, a small smile sitting on his face. Although it was just a small smile, it was a genuine one, one that shone brightly.
But another thing that shone brightly where the cat ears and tail sticking out of Kaneki and the look on Sayukis face.
"I- You- This- WHAT?!" Sayuki stood up and pointed at Kaneki.
Hides eyes widened with shock. 'Shit shit shit SHIT, now??? Just when things are going well??' Hide cursed under his breath.
Kaneki was oblivious to the situation at hand, he hadn't realised that his ears and tail where exposed until Hide flicked his tail to let him know. Kanekis eyes grew big and his face went pale, paler than it already was. His heart was pounding as he slowly stood up backing away from Hides mother.
Hide shot up. He wanted to do something but he couldnt. His body wouldn't move, all he could do was stare back at his mum.
"W-w-what the hell??!!" Sayuki said, pointing at Kaneki with her shaking finger.
"M-mum calm down I-" Hide was cut off...
"H-How!? How am I supposed to calm down?!" Hides mum waved her arms about.
Kaneki stared at his feet as Hide stood in front of him, back facing the Neko. Kaneki wasn't listening. Everything sounded like he was listening through a plastic bottle. With the lid on. Kaneki turned around to face the stairs and slowly made his way up. He was heading to Hides room, he felt safe in there. Kaneki hadn't heard Sayuki and Hide call his name, wondering where he's going. Kanekis tail hung low and his ears drooped down.
"Mum..please be easy on him...I had a similar reaction and..." Hide sighed and looked to the floor. His heart ached knowing what he was about to say "...I kinda shut him out a bit...I shouldn't have...and I dont want him to experience it again. Although when I did shut him out a bit, it didnt seem to hurt him but it probably did. Deep down..." he took one last breath "...He's a neko...he can witch from cat to human, this is also the reason he has no where to stay..." He looked back up at his mother who had a worried look on her face.
"Oh god I must of terrified him..." She said, holding her hands to her chest. "He probably thinks I'm going to kick him out!" She said her worry growing bigger.
"Don't worry, I'll go talk to him..." Hide gave his mum a sympathetic smile as he made his way up the stairs.
Sayuki sighed and plopped on the sofa. "Stupid Sayuki, Stupid Sayuki..." She mummbled to herself, hitting her forehead with the palm of her hand.
Hide stood outside his door and took a deep breath befor knocking.
Knock knock knock.
"Can I come in?" Hide asked. He didn't know why he asked or knocked, it was his room, but he felt a strong need to do so.
There was no reply from inside the room. So, Hide turned the doorknob and entered his room.
"Kaneki?" Hide said, looking around the room not seeing the smaller boy. But he heard sniffles. Small quiet sniffles, that came from his walk in closet. Hide slid open the door and layed his eyes on the boy he was looking for. His knees held tight to his chest and his head buried deep in his arms.
"Hey..." Hide said softly sitting down next to Kaneki. "She didn't mean to scare you...or make you upset...she was just shocked. Thas all..."
Silence.
Hide leaned against Kanekis shoulder and sighed. "Shes really sorry...and I'm not just saying that to make you feel bet-" Hide was, once again, cut off.
"I-I wanna be n-normal..." Kaneki whimpered. "...e-everyone looks at me l-like that..." Kanekis breath hitched. His voice growing quiet as he said "...even you did..."
Hide sat up off of Kanekis shoulder, wide and glazed eyes. Hide crawled in front of Kaneki before pushing the Nekos arms away, flattened out his legs and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm sorry..." Hide said.
Kanekis head was buried in Hides chest once again, this time crying silently. He didnt want Hide to hear him cry again for the second time in a day. He just wanted to smile. Only smile when hes around Hide.
"I shouldn't of done what I did...I shouldn't of freaked out...pushed you away...and not smile..." Hide knew the last part was important to Kaneki as he remembers him telling him that the neko had only really seen him smile once before. "Mum shouldnt of acted that way either...but...do me a favour will you?" Hide stroked the back of Kanekis head. "Don't be normal... Don't be like everyone else... Be Kaneki... just kaneki...That'll make me happy y'know" Hide smiled.
Kaneki nodded into his chest. He broke away from the hug and grinned at Hide, tears still falling from his eyes but not so much.
"Just Kaneki..." He repeated.
"Yeah...just kaneki" Hide smiled.
They sat there in silence for a few minutes just before a loud cry was heard through out the house.
"IM SORRY KANEKI!!" Sayuki burst through the door with tears streaming down her face before she flung herself at the wide eyed Neko.
"I SHOULDN'T OF ACTED ALL SHOCKED AND MEAANN!!" She cried loudly
Hide gave Kaneki a sympathetic look before trying to pull his mum away, but she just latched on like a leach.
"PLEASE FORGIVE MEEE!!" Sayuki whined grabbing Kaneki by the shoulders shaking him back and forth.
Kaneki giggled as he was being shook around.
"Mum please stop..." Hide said embarrassed.
Sayuki looked up at Kaneki with her red puffy eyes, realised he was laughing.
"I-is that a y-yeah?" She said quietly looking at Kaneki like she was pleading innocence.
Kaneki nodded still giggling slightly.
"A-and I won't ever take back what I said! Stay here for as long as you like...or even live with us" She smiled.
"Thank you..." Kaneki said quietly but happily.
Sayukis face bursted with excitement as a giant smile stretched across her face, going from ear to ear.
"You're so cuuuute!!" She said hugging Kaneki once again. "Even cuter with those cat ears" She pulled back and winked.
Kanekis face flushed a bright red as he cupped his ears.
"D-do you want me t-to...umm...p-put them away...?" Kaneki said quietly, fiddling with his thumbs.
"No! No! You can keep them out, as long as you're comfortable" Hides mum grinned.
Kaneki grinned back happily.
Hide smiled at the two before standing up and plopping on his bed letting out a yawn.
"Geez I'm tired..." Hide rubbed his eyes.
Kaneki stood up and belly flopped onto Hides bed making Hides body lift a bit before he started giggling again.
"Shush I'm tired..." Hide groaned, not in a mean way though. Almost playfully.
"You too get some sleep then, it's nearly twelve, Kaneki have you got any pyjamas?" Sayuki said swinging on the door frame.
"He can borrow one of my shirts or something again, we'll have to buy him pyjamas soon though" Hide said standing up to open his drawer.
"Shopping?" Kaneki said sitting up.
"Yup" Hide said pulling out a plane grey jumper.
"YAY!" Kaneki shouted excitedly.
"Yes!! Let's go tomorrow!!" Sayuki suggested, obviously being excited too.
"Yeah I guess we can" Hide said handing Kaneki the peice of clothing.
"HAHA!" Sayuki high fived herself. "Right then, get some sleep now and I'll wake you guys up in the morning k?" She said leaving the room but poking her head by the door.
"K mum" Hide smiled at her.
"G'night boys! Luv ya!" She said winking at them before slowly closing the door.
"Love you too mum" Hide waved at her. "Right then...I need to change" Hide said walking into his closet.
Kaneki looked down at the jumper that was handed to him before beaming with happiness. He loved wearing Hides clothes because they where so big on him, almost like a short dress. He liked to flap his arms up and down as well as spinning in circles.
Kaneki hopped of the bed and stripped of his clothes, leaving on his pants of course. He pulled the jumper over his head and down it flopped over his body. Kaneki grinned as he spun around a little before Hide came emerging out of his closet.
"What are you doing?" Hide questioned.
Kaneki stopped in his tracks. He stared at Hide and continued to spin.
"I'm spinning!" Kaneki spun around waving his arms about.
"I see that" Hide chuckled quietly. "Hey, pass me your clothes then?" Hide said holding his own.
Kaneki stopped spinning and grabbed the shirt and trousers that layed on the floor before handing them to Hide.
"Go to sleep now kaneki, I'll be back. Lemme just put these in the washing basket" Hide said opening the bedroom door.
Kaneki nodded and jumped onto Hides bed. He rolled over to the left side of the bed, closest to the window and wiggled underneath the duvet.
Hide was wondering around the landing, peaking through all the rooms trying to find where his mum had hidden the washing basket this time. But the whole time Hide had Kaneki on his mind. 'I should try being more open towards him...I should just be myself...no more shutting him out Hide...No more' He thought Hide had finally found the washing basket hiding in the bathroom that no one seems to use.
"Why is it in here" Hide mummbled to himself. He dropped the clothes inside it before picking it up and dragging it onto the landing where you can actually see it.
"There..." He said proudly.
Hide made his way back into his bedroom, already seeing the Neko cuddled up like a baby on the left side of his bed.
"You still awake?" Hide asked, closing the bedroom door behind him.
Kaneki nodded into the pillow.
The taller boy smiled as he turned off the light, and climbed into the bed. Both the boys back to back.
Just as Hide was about to let the sleep take over his body he felt a soft tap on his shoulder. He turned his head and saw Kaneki facing him, looking at him with worry all over his face.
Hide flipped over to face him.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked softly.
"I...umm...I need to tell you something..." Kaneki said, almost whispering.
"Go on" Hide knew something wasn't right.
"Ghouls...ghouls eat human meat right?..." Kaneki lowered his eyes from Hides.
Hide nodded.
"But...I can eat some human food...right?" Kanekis voice was getting quieter.
"Uh huh..." Hide was getting anxious.
"At one point...I...i have to...eat...flesh..." Kanekis lip quivered.
Hide was speechless.
"I-I can go weeks without...it...b-becuase of human food. But...if I...dont eat it...i-i will starve..." Kaneki pulled the blanket up to his face.
"Alright..." Hide replied rather calmly.
Kanekis eyes met Hides once again.
"T-thats ok?..." Kaneki questioned. He never expected this.
"As...as long as it means you're healthy...I guess it is" A tiny smile was placed on Hides face.
Kaneki smiled and shuffled over to Hide.
"Thank you..." Kaneki whispered.
Hide could feel his face go red as he saw the smaller boy shuffle closer. Kanekis head once again buried in his chest. But, Hide smiled. He liked this. He felt like he could protect Kaneki and all his problems would finally go away. Hide rested his chin on kanekis head.
"No problem..."
One of Hides arms rested underneath the pillow and the other wrapped around Kaneki. Kaneki was cuddled up against Hide like a koala, his hands holding Hides shirt.
The two felt safe. Safe with eachother. Like nothing could go wrong. Almost like the world had stopped spinning just for the two of them.
And they both drifted to sleep.
Sayuki had just finished coraline as she stood up and made her way up the stairs to her bedroom.
"OW SHIT WHAT!?" Sayuki shouted as she had kicked the washing basket that Hide had placed in the middle on the landing. She quickly covered her mouth as she realised that the boys where probably sleeping.
She stood next to Hides door to see if she could hear anything before slowly opening it to check on them.
The tall woman's eyes widened with excitement as she saw the two boys cuddled up with eachother, she quickly but quietly closed the door and fangirled rather hard on the landing, doing a little dance into her bedroom.
When Hide had come out to Sayuki she really didn't mind, she even tried to throw a party but Hide insisted that she didn't. She was really happy that Hide had trusted her to know and that he wanted her to know. She would rather him tell her than her find out, as that would have been harder on him then it already was. Ever since then Sayuki would always point out if she saw a cute boy or someone that Hide may like, but Hide had always shut them down. Sayuki had seen the amount of people that had asked Hide out once he was open about being gay in school but he would still, shut them down. She had never seen him so caring towards another person other than Touka and herself. Though he wasnt as goofy around Kaneki, he definitely cared for him. He seemed more protective over him than anything. Sayuki smiled to herself, she really hoped that Hide would finally meet someone. She recons that he might of now. The right person. Although they may not of realised how they feel towards eachother, she hopes that they do get along and then become best friends...and then maybe something more.
Take good care of eachother ok? She thought to herself.
Don't let eachother down...
