Last night at Jaces celebration, Ophelia went home earlier than everyone else, she was able to orb due to her worry and anger, she hadn't learned to control her magic, so it spikes due to her emotions.
When Ophelia orbed out of the Institue, she was back at Anevils home, she went through his stuff, she went into their bedroom, looked in every drawer, looked under the bed, behind paintings, and in desks.
Ophelia went into Anevils office, she couldn't find anything that seems suspicious, but behind the book shelf, she saw a door that was covered with wall paper.
Ophelia tried to push the book shelf out the way, when the book shelf was moved, she was able to see the door completely.
She grabbed onto the door knob and tried to open the door, the door was locked, so Ophelia went around looking for a key that could potentially open the door.
Ophelia went all over the apartment, she went into the kitchen, she checked the drawers, one drawer she opened was stuck on something, she took the drawer out and set it on the counter.
When she looked to see what it was, she saw a small black box, Ophelia grabbed it and opened it, inside was a key.
Ophelia walked back into Anevils office to the locked door, she finally had access to what was behind the door.
When Ophelia opened the door, she saw pictures of her and Kellina on the wall, she walked towards this shelf, it had files on where and what Ophelia and Kellina had done.
Ophelia was shocked by the files, she thought she was sleeping with her stalker, but when she continued to search through the files she saw a notepad, when she read the notes he had written, she found out she was sleeping with the enemy.
Ophelia began to cry, she grabbed the files on her and Kellina then the notepad, she sat in the living room looking through the files again and rereading everything.
A few hours later, Anevil arrives home, he walks into the living room and asks Ophelia why she left early, he thought she was sick.
Ophelia stood up and faced Anevil, he saw that she was crying, he walked towards her to try and hug her.
"NO! Don't come near me" Ophelia said crying
"What happened, talk to me" Anevil said trying to calm Ophelia down
Ophelia grabs the files and show them to Anevil, Anevils face changed, he was shocked, "Where'd you get those" Anevil asked.
"In your fucking hidden room behind the shelf!" Ophelia yelled
"I can explain" Anevil said
"NO! YOU LIED TO ME!" Ophelia yelled angrily.
"I didn't lie to you" Anevil said
"Yes you did, you told me you loved me" Ophelia cried loudly
"I do love you" Anevil responded
"YOU TRIED TO KILL ME TODAY!" Ophelia screamed
"No that wasn't me, that was him" Anevil said.
"SHUT UP! YOU ARE HIM!" Ophelia yelled
"I would never hurt you, I had no choice!" Anevil yelled
"NO CHOICE?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO CHOICE!" Ophelia asked.
"Okay, listen, calm down" Anevil said as he began to explain, "My name is Anevil Turner, I was born as a half demon, my parents are Elizabeth and Benjamin Turner. My mother was a demon while my father was a mortal" Anevil said.
"I was chosen to be apart of The Brotherhood of The Thorn, I was hired by the Triad to kill you and Lilith" Anevil explained.
"Wait, you said the Triad hired you" Ophelia asked, "MY BLOODY FATHER HIRED YOU TO KILL ME!" Ophelia yelled angrily.
"I'm sorry Phelia" Anevil apologized
"No, you lost your right to call me that when I found out you're the demon that's been trying to kill me and my sister" Ophelia said
"I don't want to kill you, Belthazor has the mind of his own!" Anevil yelled.
"THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT YOU'RE STILL HIM" Ophelia yelled crying
"No, Ophelia I'm not him, I'm a mortal who was born in 1983. I am the human alter ego to Belthazor" Anevil said, "When ever he transforms, I have no control, Phelia I'm dying".
"What do you mean you're dying" Ophelia asked
"Belthazor is slowly taking over my body, my human side is dying, once I'm dead, Belthazor has full control over me" Anevil replies.
"You think that's supposed to make me care? That doesn't change the fact you've been on the hunt for me" Ophelia said
Anevil then got angry, he tried to get closer to Ophelia, but Ophelia's emotions orbed her behind him without her trying to.
"Ophelia, you have to believe me, I never tried to hurt you" Anevil said
"The reason how I knew you were him, was when he attacked me I tried to fry his brain, I put a protection spell on you today without you knowing, when I tried the spell on him, it was like he was immune to my magic" Ophelia replied.
"I did know you put the spell on me" Anevil said quietly
"Great, I used my magic to protect a demon" Ophelia said
"That day that Belthazor attacked here, you were in the corner passed out, how did you do that" Ophelia asked
"Illusion casting, he has the ability to make it seem like something's there when it's not" Anevil explained.
Anevil then walked towards Ophelia again, "Stay away from me" Ophelia said.
"Ophelia, I love you, please" Anevil said as he began to cry
"This cannot be forgiven Anevil, no matter how much I may love you, it doesn't change the fact that you're a demon" Ophelia said
"Kellina's a demon, she's evil, she literally ruled hell" Anevil said.
"She never tried to kill me" Ophelia replied.
Anevil stared at Ophelia, Ophelia looked down then orbed out of the apartment, when Ophelia left Anevil then started to rage.
He went into his office, he flipped his desk over, he went into the room that was locked, he took all the pictures off the wall, he threw all the files on the floor.
Ophelia orbed to the Salvatore house in her old room, no one knew she was there, but she slept there for the night till the next morning.
Ophelia didn't sleep, she laid in her bed crying all night, when it was morning she went out for a drive, she took one of Stefans cars.
Ophelia got a call from Kellina, she didn't answer, she then decided to drive over to the Institute to tell Kellina everything that happened the other night.
When Ophelia began to think about it, she started to cry, she finally arrived at the Institute, when she got there she walked up the stairs and down the hallway towards Kellina and Jaces room.
Ophelia knocked on the door, when Kellina was taking long to answer she started to bang on it, then Kellina opens it confused, Ophelia walks into the room and sits on the bed, Kellina ran to her and asked why she was crying.
Ophelia then told Kellina everything about the other night, Kellina started to cuss out Anevil and told Ophelia that they will kill him before he could kill them.
Ophelia didn't want to kill him, when Kellina asked why, Ophelia told Kellina she still loved him, a lot. Jace comes out from the shower and see Ophelia on the bed.
Kellina explained to Jace that Anevil was Belthazor the whole time, Jace told Kellina and Ophelia he was right when he said that he had a bad feeling about Anevil.
"Shortly after Anevil was born, Benjamin, his father, found out his wife was a demon and tried to take Anevil from her, but Elizabeth killed her husband with an energy ball and raised Anevil herself. Elizabeth taught Anevil to despise his human side for its weaknesses." Ophelia explained,
"He suppressed it so completely that he became one of the most powerful demons of all time, under the demon name Belthazor. The Source saw a good deal of promise in Anevil, so he had Elizabeth, Anevils mother, put him through law school so he could blend into human society as a prominent lawyer". Ophelia said.
"Many upper level demons seek to infiltrate the mortal world in order to further the cause of evil, and Anevil was particularly well suited for this since he is half human." Jace said crossing his arms, "Sometime around 1900 or 1901, the Source chose Anevil to become a member of the Brotherhood of the Thorn".
"What's the Brotherhood?" Ophelia asked
"It's an elite society in hell that is full of upper level demons" Kellina replied.
"Belthazor was particularly close with two of the Brotherhood's other younger members, Tarkin and Trigg, they were the closest things he had to friends" Jace said, "Over the next century, he made a reputation for himself as a cold, ruthless, and methodical assassin who could kill anyone, an athame being his weapon of choice."
"What's an athame?" Kellina asked
"A ceremonial knife, it is used to redirect energy and transfer the powers of whoever it kills to the wielder" Jace replied.
"So, if he stabbed us with his knife, he would take our powers" Kellina said as Jace nodded.
"This is my fault" Ophelia cried
"No, it's not, it's your father, he's so desperate that he hired a demon to assassinate his daughters" Kellina replied.
"But I'm the one that fell in love" Ophelia said
"So, it's not a bad thing to fall in love" Kellina said, "Think of it like this, he isn't the one for you, but at least you're one broken heart closer to finding the right one".
Ophelia looked up at Kellina, Kellina wiped Ophelia's tears and hugged her, Jace looked at Kellina and Ophelia, he then told the two girls to follow him.
Jace walked out the room as the girls followed, he led them to the library, in the library there are things Shadowhunters have collected through out the century from their kills.
Jace walked over to a huge case that had a book in it, the book was full of spells for potential demons and how to vanquish them, Jace said that witches that they've had to try and use these spells never worked.
Jace opened the case and grabbed the book out, Kellina read the spelling that was in Latin, "The book of Shadow" she said.
The book was a big tome with a green leather cover, two markers and the Triquetra symbol on the front, the book was used to inform the owner on demons and other magical beings, aiding them with spells and potions and other useful information about the craft.
The Book of Shadows, often just referred simply as the Book, is the magical tome of the Warren Line of Witches. It is the most powerful and coveted Book of Shadows in existence and is over 300 years old.
The Book has been passed down every generation ever since it was created by Melinda Warren in the 17th century.
"Through out the years of the Warren witches, they had been adding spells ever since" Jace said
"We can create our own spells?" Kellina asked
"Any witch is able to, it just takes a lot of skill" Jace said, "You two should be able to".
Kellina touched the book and began to go through the pages, she asked Jace what the book could do about Belthazor, then immediately the book began to go through all the pages of the book until it got to Belthazor.
The page read:
"Beware of this Demonic Soldier of Fortune. Both powerful and dangerous, he has destroyed countless
witches, innocents, and demons. As sinister as he
is intelligent, he is not to be trusted, Belthazor's known abilities include throwing energy balls and shimmering from place to place, but his powers are
probably not limited to these capabilities. Because there is no known way to defeat him, Belthazor should be avoided at all costs."
"So is the book telling us to stay away from him?" Ophelia asked
The book flipped another page, it landed on a spell that is used to vanquish Belthazor, "Spirits of air
forest and sea, set us of this demon free, beast of hoof and beasts of shell, drive this evil back to hell!" the spell said.
"We're going to kill Anevil?" Ophelia asked
"I don't think this'll kill him, but it would set him free of his demon side, he will finally be fully human Lia" Kellina replied.
Kellina then read the ingredients to the spell aloud, "
One part Mandrake Root, 1 pinch of Carrot Seeds, 1 dash of Cardamom, 1 dash of Toadflax, 1 pig's foot
1 cockle shell in its whole form, 1 pinch of Juniper Berries, a few crickets. All these ingredients have to be blended as one. When the pig's foot is added, it will ignite upon adding. In order for the potion to work, add the final and key ingredient, a piece of the demon's flesh or blood" Kellina read.
"How are we going to get a fresh piece of flesh or blood?" Ophelia asked
"Well it seems to me, that's up to you" Kellina replied
"Me?" Ophelia asked
"Well, I would help you of course, but you would have to do it since you're the only one he would want to see" Kellina said.
Kellina then shut the book and held it to her chest, Jace and Kellina walked back to the stairs out off the library, Ophelia was upset, she stared at a cup that was sitting on the table, as she stared at it, then it blew up.
Ophelia then ran out the library since she didn't know who's cup that was, Kellina went into her room and tried to memorize the useful spells in it.
She took pictures of them on her phone to make things easier, then the spell would be with her at all time.
While Kellina was sitting on her bed, there was a sound around the room, there was wind blowing in the room when the windows were closed, then a black portal opened up, in the portal was a demon in a black robe.
It tried to take The Book of Shadows, the book began to levitate in the air towards the portal, Kellina grabbed the book as it was about to get taken into the portal.
The demon threw a fire ball at Kellina, when the ball was thrown at Kellina, her body basically absorbed the magic that was in it, her skin had orange like flames under her skin.
Her eyes turned black as she stared back at the demon and smiled, in her palm she formed a fire ball and threw it back at the demon.
Once the fire ball hit the demon in the portal, the portal closed, Jace walked through the door, Kellina's skin went back to the way it was and so did her eyes.
Kellina didn't know how or why that happened to her, she thought that the darkness was taking over , Kellina then told Jace a demon tried to steal The Book of Shadows.
Jace then explained to Kellina that demons constantly try and take the book, but they haven't been able to since it was locked away and the Institute was hidden from all sight.
But when Kellina siphoned the magic they are open to the public eye, Kellina again apologized, she didn't tell Jace that when the demon tried to attack her, she used their own powers against them because she didn't know how Jace would react.
When Jace left the room again, Kellina looked down at her hand, her fingers had electricity forming by a single touch.
Kellina didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing that she had conquered a new power, she didn't know if there was a consequence.
