Next day. At the Firehouse.
Louis' father had shown up last night at Gabby's front door.
he wants his son back.
Gabby "Maybe he just wants to shake us down"
Stella "Well, then he's messing with the wrong girl"
I nodded "and with the wrong family"
Gabby "no kidding."
Stella "Look, Gabby, it's gonna be okay. I mean, DCFS will read this guy the riot act"
the alarm went off "Squad 3, Truck 81, Person trapped, 2617 West 17th Street"
I gave Gabby a quick hug "everything's gonna be okay.

A guy walked to us "hurry. This dumbass, his arm is stuck and the whole thing's coming down"
Casey "one of your workers?"
The guy "some bros tried to rob the place"
Kelly, Casey, the guy and i walked inside.
Kelly "these guys tried to rob the place?"
The guy "nah, they snuck in and tried to make off with a few kegs of IPA."
A boy walked to us "over here! hurry up ! hurry up!"
My jaw dropped.
The guy had his arm stuck between the keg and the pallet. bad is that the that the kegs were piled up at least a couple units up. If that thing comes crushing down we could all get crushed underneath the kegs.
The guy froze "i can't feel my arm!"
I sighed and looked at he people surrounding the guy "Everybody, back up! Give us some room!"
Truck 81 walked in with the ladder.
Casey "Otis, Kidd, attack the webbing to the ladder"
One of the guys "hey, hold on, Pants"
Casey "hey, you need to stay back until we get the pallets stabilized."
Then he looked at the victim "what's your name, buddy?"
The guy whimpered.
The other guy "that's Pants"
Casey raised an eyebrow "Pants?"
The guy "that's what everybody calls him - Pants"
Casey "Pants, take a deep breath, relax. We're gonna get you out of there in just a minute. Mouch, use that column as the anchor"
Hermann "hey, so what exactly happened here?"
The guy "well, we couldn't reach the kegs on top, to Pants tried to grab some form the bottom. It was kinda like ...."beer Jenga."
Hermann "Wow, most people would've just given up"
Casey "come on, guys. Let's get this latched up. Raise the ladder"
They secured the ladder.
Kelly "we need more people to pull"
We grabbed the string and pulled on it.
The guy walked closer to us "come on, Pants, pull out your arm"
One of the kegs fell over the edge. Kelly shoved the guy out of the way and they both hit the ground.
The keg that fell to the ground opened and beer started to rain on Otis.
Otis "come on"
Casey "keep pulling"
We pulled.
Casey "enough"
Then he helped Pants take his arm out.
At the Firehouse.
Hermann and Otis put up a PingPong table in the meeting room.
Stupid idea.
I walked over to Kelly "Hey, did you already donate your bone marrow?"
Kelly "no, i wish"
Me "it's pretty cool what you're doing."
Kelly "It's not biggie"
Me "are you nervous?"
Kelly shook his head "no"
Me "Kelly, it's supposed to be more than just painful"
Kelly "Anesthesia"
I nodded "yeah, but 65% of donors report back pain afterwards. So something goes wrong, bone or nerve damage, you could be off the job for a while"
Kelly "and you know this how?"
me "i googled it"
Kelly smirked "aw, Flori,..."
Me"what?"
Kelly "you care"
I nodded "of course i do."
Suddenly i heard pang. Mouch flew against the window of the PingPong room and fell to the ground taking the curtains down with him.
My jaw dropped.

I walked down the corridor and my jaw dropped.
Otis, Mouch and Stella were picking up broken glass. Somehow they had mananaged the break the glass doors.
Me "what the hell?"
Kelly walked over to me "Hey"
I smiled "hey"
He put a hand around my stomach to shove me to the side a little.
I asked confused "what wrong?"
Kelly "i hope you don't mind ,but Casey's really busy. I put your name down as my emergency contact for the procedure."
I nodded "It's okay"
Kelly looked at me surprised "really?"
I looked at him confused and amused "you think i wouldn't be okay with that? Kelly, we've been together for nearly a year now. i'm okay with it"
At Molly's night.
Kelly and i walked in and ran into Erin.
I smiled "Erin, hey"
She smiled "Flo, Kelly, hi"
Kelly "hey, it's been a while"
Erin "hey, man, um, Stella just told me what you're doing. That's really great."
Kelly "yeah, uh, Stella's got a big mouth"
Erin smiled "it's great"
Me "Where's Jay?"
Kelly put an arm around my shoulders.
Erin "I'm on my way to meet him now. We all gotta catch up. you know, me and Jay, you and Stella, we should grab a beer or something"
I grimaced.
Kelly smiled "sure"
Erin smiled "okay, i'll see you later"
Then she walked out.
I looked at Kelly confused.
he asked amused "what?"
Me "You and me, Erin and Jay? Are you serious?"
Kelly "you have a problem with that?"
I shook my head "no. I am surprised that you agreed to that"
Kelly asked confused "why?"
Me "You and Erin hooked up. And i was dating Jay. now i am dating you and Jay is dating Erin. You wanna go out drinking with our exes?"
Kelly thought about it but then nodded "Well, yeah"
I looked at him, surprised "wow"
At the Firehouse. Next day.
I walked in.
Cruz walked over to him "hey, Severide's having his bone marrow donation today?"
I shook my head "no, tomorrow"
Cruz "you sure?"
I nodded "tomorrow, 10:00 a.m, Chicago Med, fourth floor, B Wing. nothing to eat or drink after midnight."
Cruz asked me confused "then why do we have a relief lieutenant on Squad?"
I looked at him confused.
he walked away.
I called Kelly.
He wasn't picking up.
I sighed and hung up.
Night. On the streets.
I got out of the truck. Two cars had crashed.
My jaw dropped when i saw the second car.
me "no, no, no, no, no, no"
Stella "Flo"
My jaw dropped "Capp"
He looked at me.
Me "take the lead. I-I-"
Hen nodded "it's okay"
I saw Mouch and Hermann pulling out a girl out of the back of the car.
Me "where is he?"
Hermann shook his head "i don't know"
me "I've been trying to call him all day and he hasn't gotten back to me. God, this is bad"
the police officer "i did a tag ran. Mustang belongs to a Kelly-"
Me "Kelly Severide. He's a firefighter. Could you do us a favor? call the Inteligence Unit"
She nodded walked away.
Stella walked to me "Florence"
I shook my head "no"
Stella "what if..you know- Kol-"
I shook my head "don't even dare saying it"
Stella "but what if-"
i shook my head "don't even, Stella. Kol wouldn't do it."
Stella "that's exactly how he'd do it"
I shook my head "no. I refuse to believe it was Kol"
Stella "why?"
Me "Because it wasn't him. I know Kol's handwritting. that was too easy"
Stella "then where is Severide?"
I shook my head "i don't know"
Next day. At the police station.
Me "what do you mean i can't see him? of course i can see him"
Jay shook his head "no, you can't"
I nodded "i can"
Jay "Flo, his alcohol level was over 2.1 and he was on painkillers. We got about 48 hours before we got to put him down. "
I shook my head "Jay, i have to see him"
Jay "i just told you that you can't. Am i not speaking clearly? He is in custody. No visitors except his lawyer"
Me "i am his girlfriend"
Jay "Flo, he comitted vehicular homicide"
Me "Jay, i just want to check on him"
Jay "Florence-"
Me "i am asking ...bend the rules this one time "
Jay "or what?"
I shook my head "nothing. Jay, i am begging you, please. Do it for me"
Jay looked at me and sighed.
In the cellroom.
Jay opened Kelly's cell door for me.
Kelly stood up when he saw me.
i walked into the cell and Jay walked away to give us some space.
Then i hugged Kelly "you okay?"
Kelly shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest "not really. you talk to Boden? where is he?"
Me "believe me. He's all over this. He's taking to the IG's office right now. what have you told them?"
Kelly "everything i can remember, which isn't much"
I nodded "okay. From now on, just keep your mouth shut. Gonna get you a lawyer. They're talking homicide here. So, like i said, not another word"
Yeah, the little girl from last night died from her injuries. Kelly's in big trouble.
Jay "visit's over"
Kelly sighed "yeah. Thanks"
I gave him a kiss "i love you"
He nodded "i love you too"
Then i walked out. Jay closed the cell door and we walked out.
Jay "you so owe me"
I nodded "i know"
Night.
I walked over to Platt.
Platt sighed when she saw me "Intelligence?"
I nodded "yeah"
She nodded "come with me"
We walked upstairs.
Platt "Your office, Sergeant"
Voight nodded "yeah. Come on in"
I nodded and walked into Voight's office.
Me "Voight, heard you found some sort of tracker on Kelly's car and that car thieves were responsible for this"
Voight"yeah, well, my team's looking into that, but we still don't have enough to release him yet"
Me "why not?"
Voight "Look, a carjacking crew may well have put that tracker on Kelly's car, and they may well have intended on stealing it later. But Kelly may have frustarted those efforts bygetting in the car accident first"
Me "He wouldn't have gotten into an accident and run"
Voight nodded "that's what we're trying to prove"
Me "Can't you release him and then continue to investigate?"
Voight shook his head "I can't"
Me "why?"
Voight "It'll look like favoritism"
I sighed.
Voight "why don't you take a look out there? None of those people are going home until we figure this out. "
I nodded "i know. how many years could he face?"
Voight "5 years"
Me "do you think he did this?"
Voight shook his head "no, i don't. But it doesn't matter what i think. It matters what the state's attorney can prove. And right now, that's putting Kelly behind the wheel"
I sighed.
Voight "and with what's going on right now with your ex? I think Kelly going into 26th is the best way to keep him away from Kol"
Me "have you got anything yet?"
Voight thought about it "i have some idea but .."
me "Voight, this is your town. There has to be something"
Voight nodded "when i said i'd handle it, i meant it. Till then, do you, Kelly and myself a favor and don't do anything that could provoke Kol, okay?"
I nodded "i'll try"
Voight put a hand on my shoulder "Florence, everything's going to be okay"
I nodded "i know"
Voight nodded to the door "I'll have Jay drop you off at home"
I nodded "thank you"
Then i walked out.
Jay walked to me "hey, let me drop you off at your place"
I nodded "thanks"
In front of my house.
I looked at Jay "Jay"
He looked at me "huh?"
Me "It wasn't Kelly"
Jay nodded "want me to come inside?"
I shook my head "no, it's okay"
He nodded "call me if you need anything"
I nodded "i will, i promise"
He nodded "good"
Then i got out and walked to my front door.
Jay drove away.
I froze when i saw something lying on the matt. Flowers.
Then i picked them up and read the card "heard what happened to your lover. I really do hope he's okay. wouldn't want him to die before i could even do anything. - Kol"
My stomach dropped and i looked around. No one was watching me.
At Matt's.
I walked in and saw Gabby and Matt sitting on the couch.
Gabby looked at me surprised "hey"
I walked over to them and sat down between them.
Matt "how is he?"
I sighed "He's being transferred to the 26th"
Matt nodded "and how are you?"
Me "hoping he's okay"
Gabby put her arms around me.
Me "i don't wanna be alone tonight"
Matt nodded and put a hand on my leg rubbing in softly "We're here when you need us"
Next day. Morning.
I groaned when i heard my phone ring.
Then i looked around. I was in Kelly's bed. Looks like Matt had carried me to be after i fell asleep on the couch last night.
my phone stopped ringing.
I grabbed it and returned the call.
Jay "Morning, Florence"
me "Morning. why are you calling?"
Jay "i have good news. And you're owing me a favor what i did"
Me "talk"
At the 26th.
I saw Kelly walking out through the prison fences.
He smiled when he saw me "hey. "
Me "how are you feeling?"
Kelly "Better now that you're here."
I smiled
Kelly "the fact that i was in that car for even two blocks...i got to get my act together"
I nodded "however i can help"
Kelly "did they catch the guy that did this?"
I nodded "they're shipping him down here right now to take your place. "
Kelly "how old was the girl ..who died?"
I sighed "she was 10"
Kelly shook his head "thank you for believing in me"
I smiled and put a hand on his cheek "of course"
He hugged me and kissed my hair.
I hugged him back.
At my place. night.
Kelly and I were hanging out on the couch, watching a move. It was the new IT.
Suddenly the doorbell rang.
Kelly asked confused "who could that be in the middle of the night?"
I shrugged.
Kelly "you expecting someone?"
I shook my head "no"
Then I stood up and walked over to the door to open it.
I froze when I saw Kol standing there.
There was this smile on his face, a smile of pure evil.
Kol held an envelope out to me "the mailman accidently dropped it off at the wrong place"
I glared at him and grabbed the envelope "thanks"
Kol "figured you don't want anything bad happen to it"
Then he looked at my car outside and then to me.
I clenched my jaw "thanks for bringing the mail"
Kol fake smiled "I hope it won't happen again"
Then he walked away.
I sighed and closed the door.
Kelly "who was that?"
I turned to him "just someone who accidently got ahold of my mail"
He nodded but then eyed me "you okay?"
I nodded and fake smiled "yeah, let's keep watching the movie"
He nodded "sure"
