I am Fine

Next day. At the Firehouse. In the Chief's office. 

I sighed "Chief, i'm fine"

He shook his head "you were told you mother killed herself, you're not fine"

I nodded "i am fine, okay? so don't even think about calling the Chaplain because i don't need him .What i need is to go to work"

Chief nodded "okay. I will not call the Chaplain, okay? because i know how you react when you feel cornered. "

I nodded "thank you"

Chief "But under no circumstances are you going to set a foot in those trucks out there. "

Me "you're benching me? Are you kidding? Chief, come on, i am fine"

Chief nodded "i am benching you because i care about you, kid"

I scoffed, shaking my head "i can work"

Chief "you can stay here, but you 're not gonna work"

I shot him a look and he shot me one back. 

Then i rolled my eyes and stood up "okay. as you wish, Chief"

In the garage. 

I leaned against the truck. 

Kidd was here too "so ,how are you feeling?"

Me "i am okay. and if i hear the question one more time - i will start beating people with the hose "

She chuckled a little "i know how your relationship with your mother was but she's still your mother"

Me "Kidd, i don't care, okay? nothing changed for me. My life didn't change. I am still the same person i was yesterday. "

Kidd nodded "fine. So who was that hot cop yesterday?"

Me "Detective Halstead "

She smirked  "hmm. I'd let him put handcuffs on me any time"

I started to laugh "Kidd"

She chuckled "what, don't tell me that wouldn't let him handcuff you to the bed"

I saw Kelly walking up behind her and shook my head "i can't answer that"

Kelly asked Kidd "hey, still trouble with the ex?"

Kidd rolled her eyes annoyed "same as always. He's mad i didn't meet up with him last night"

Kelly "want me to talk to him?"

Kidd "Given our history, i think you're probably the last person that he wants to talk to"

Kelly nodded "okay."

Kidd "you were interrupting a girls talk"

Kelly "trust me, i have interest on joining that conversation but i gotta talk to Florence"

Kidd sang out "oh, the full name-someone's in trouble"

I rolled my eyes "shut up"

She laughed and walked away. 

I smiled at Kelly "i think your friendship with Kidd is adorable. "

Kelly "She's important to me"

I nodded "i know. She's important to me too"

He nodded "i can see that"

Me "Thank you for having her back, Kelly"

Kelly "of course. "
