I put my finger on the trigger and aim at his head.
He closes his eyes in fear
Just as I'm about to shoot a shield hits me in the chest knocking me back.
The kid flashes away. I look up to see a man standing with a shield and a man with a metal arm
I grunt and walk towards them.
"Y/n it's us. It's me Steve. You don't want to do this" the man says
"Hail Hydra" is all I say
"Alright Everyone remember. Protect her and don't get hurt" the man with the shield says
"You got it Cap" another man flies over my head landing behind me
All of the sudden there's webs all over my arms.
I rip out of them but now there is a circle of unknown people standing around me
"Y/n. Back down" the man with the metal arm says
I growl in frustration taking out my gun.
I try to shoot him but an orange shield surrounds him
"Y/n"
I look up to see a man with a green necklace hovering
I try to shoot at him as well but he has shields coming from his hands
I look behind me to see a woman with red hair, a large green man, a man with a bow and arrow, and many more.
But they all have protection and they keep getting closer!?
I scream now as I shoot trying to shoot anyone I can but everyone has shields.
They circle me as if trying to trap me!?
I turn in circles again and again but I can't kill any of them.
I'm supposed to be a killer!?
Why isn't it working!?
Suddenly a metal man lands in front of me as I turn in circles
"Y/n"
I look up at him as I put down my empty gun.
The suit opens and a man steps out.
Something is so familiar about him but I can't remember.
Remember y/n!
Goddamnit remember!!
"I can't" I say quietly
"You can't?" He repeats to me
"I'm supposed to kill"
I hold up my gun again and point it at him.
He doesn't even flinch
"Then do it" he says nodding
I nod my own head getting ready to pull the trigger.
I'm going to.
I'm going to.
Here I go.
"But remember kid. I love you more." He says closing his eyes
I can't.
"I can't. I CANT" I shout in frustration
"Then don't. Y/n put it down. You don't have to do anything" the man says calmly
"M-my Mom. She says you're trying to take me.."
I say looking at the ground clenching my fists
"Y/n if you come with us you will be safer than ever. I promise" the man from the suit puts his hand out to me
"No more shots?" I ask quietly
"No more shots. No more killing." The man nods
"What's your name?" I ask him
His face falters
"Y/n.. my name is Tony. Tony Stark" he sighs almost tearing up
"They won't hurt me?" I ask looking around at all the other people surrounding us
"They want what's best for you y/n." Tony says
"My parents told me to kill you all." I look at tony sadly
"It doesn't have to be that way. No more shots. No more pain." Tony puts both hands out to me
"But I'm meant to be a soldier. Hydras best. You should all be dead" I shake my head not understanding
"They lied to you y/n. From the beginning they've lied" Tony says
"Y/N!!"
I hear a scream from outside the circle
It's my parents.
They are in armor of their own with guns and bombs all pointed at us
"My mom" I respond
"They lie to you y/n" Tony reminds me again
"Y/n please come here!" My mom shouts pointing the guns at the people surrounding me
I walk out of the circle and towards my parents.
"We only want the super soldiers! They die and the rest of you get to walk away!" My dad shouts to the group of people
"Is it true?" I ask stopping in between my parents and the group of people
"What y/n?" My mom asks
"Did you lie to me??" I question her
"Y/n?? No! Of course not! They are messing with your head!" She shouts
"Then why aren't they trying to kill me. You said they would take me away and they haven't even tried to!?" I shout back
"Y/n stop you are confused!"
"I'm not confused any more. You both lied to me." I say grabbing my gun
"You won't shoot us y/n. You aren't programmed like that." James says confidently
"I'm a killing machine I have no bounds." I say risking it.
Then the man with the metal arm walks up beside me
"You don't have to do this kid" he says quietly
"They are bad people-
"I know. But we call the authorities now, and they will go away for life. No blood on your hands kid." He says
"But they hurt me" I shake my head
"No blood kid. You don't want to be the monster here. That's their job" he puts his hand on my arm
"They want you dead. Why?" I ask the man
"Because I'm one of the good guys. And so are you" he says calmly
I keep my gun up until the FBI arrive on the scene.
They take my parents away and only then do I feel free.
"I'm Bucky" the man with the metal arm says
"Y/n. Thank you Bucky" I say putting down my gun
"Y/n! Y/n!"
Two boys my age run up to me excitedly
"Boys. Don't she isn't there yet" Bucky says
"Do I know you?" I ask the boys and their faces fall
"We are- um happy that you are safe" the boy in the spider suit says
"Thanks. Where is um Tony?" I ask
I see Tony with the man with the shield
Bucky and I walk over to them
"Y/n I know you don't know us. But we are going to help you" the shield man says
"Thank you. I appreciate it." I nod
"Honey can we take this mask off your face now?" Tony asks
"Um- sure" I say
He unclips the mask for me and it falls to the ground.
"There she is" he smiles warmly
"I don't know how to explain it but I feel like I've uh met you all before.." I say awkwardly
"Don't worry kid you'll figure it out" Bucky pats my back
I end up going back to a place called the compound with this group of people who all seem to know me.
The only ones I really trust so far are Bucky Tony and Steve.
"I was like you before y/n" Bucky says to me that night
"You were?" I ask
"Brainwashed by Hydra. I couldn't remember anything. Only what Hydra wanted me to." Bucky says
"Brainwashed? Are you saying I wasn't always like this?" I ask
"No. I knew you before. We all did. But let me guess, the shots gave you nice fighting abilities, perfect aim, perfect shot" Bucky says
"Yeah... I can do things I never thought I could" I sigh
"Do you know anything about the shot you were given?" Bucky asks
"It was supposed to be some sort of copy of the super Soldier serum" I say shrugging
"Jesus, okay. Listen I'll take you to the lab. Tony wants to try and fix what happened to you" Bucky says
I trust Bucky. And I want to feel normal again.
We go down to the lab where Tony is with the large green man and the man with the shield
"Y/n! Welcome to the lab" Tony says coming to greet me
"Who are they?" I ask pointing to the others
"Y/n this is Bruce, I know he's very green and large but he's one of the smartest people I know. And this, this is Steve. Steve is the most caring and helpful man I know, and I have the wonderful opportunity of being his husband!" Tony smiles
"Wow it's nice to meet the both of you" I say happily
"Nice to meet you too tiny girl" Bruce fist bumps me
"Okay so y/n we are going to lay you down on this table and do some tests on your brain if that's okay. I know it sounds scary but you know you can trust us." Tony says holding my hand
"Okay" I say not fully understanding
"To free you from all this brainwashing we have to figure out what exactly is going on up here" Tony says lightly tapping my head
"Okay I trust you" I nod
"Alright so if you don't mind we are gonna get started. You'll be put under a general anesth-
"Wait! Um can we do something before.." I ask nervously
"Anything you want kid" Tony says with a smile
"Can I meet all of the people. I want to know them before I go under. What if I wake up and I don't remember anything again" I say
"Steve can we get everyone down here?" Dad asks with Hopeful eyes
Within a minute all the people were barging through the doors.
"Okay guys one by one!" Bucky helps
"Bucky can you stay with me?" I ask
"Of course kiddo" he nods
"Alright y/n first is Natasha"
"Hey y/n, I know you don't remember me but I'm Natasha, you normally call me Nat. I was a spy in Russia before I came here and met all the people here today including you! And now all of them are my family, even you! So I will see you when you come out of testing. And I just know that you'll remember my name" she smiles a lovely smile, her red hair is just beautiful.
The next person comes over
"Hey it's the kid! Y/n I am Clint. Quite possibly the funniest person you'll ever meet! I'm always here for you kid. Anything you need" he smiles making a funny face that makes me laugh
"Y/n! I'm Wanda, I know you don't remember but you're one of my best friends and you helped me become who I am today. I truly hope you'll be okay after all of this and you are so strong! I believe in you!"
"I am doctor Stephen Strange, But you like to call me the wizard! I used to think I wasn't meant to have a family, and I had a heart of stone. But you managed to help me see I deserve more than that. And I'm grateful. And I can't wait for you to come out of this so we can practice more magic!"
"Super fly team back together! I'm Sam and we used to be the best team ever! You mean a lot to us kid so we need you back! Lots of love!"
"I'm Rhodey, and kid you mean so much to so many people here. I got to watch you grow up into this beautiful woman and I can't wait to have you back. Stay strong y/n"
Then the kid with the white hair comes over. He looks like he's been crying.
He's almost too scared to look at me.
I let go of buckys hand and take his
"Y-y/n, my name is Pietro. You mean the most to me and I do love you, I love you so much. I'm sorry all of this is happening. Remember we're going to grow old and do facemasks together! I miss you.." He starts to tear up again as he squeezes my hand
Then he leaves but there's so much I want to say to him, but I can't even remember who he is to me.
"Hey my twin, believe it or not I thought I never wanted another sibling in my life. I hated watching out for another person and constantly worrying... then I met you, and you were perfect. I never met someone that I could click with so easily. I guess that's why we are the genius twins. Life without you isn't something I ever want to think about again. So stay strong for your twin." He kisses my head
"Y/n! It's me peter!! Jeez I've been so worried about you, so has Abbey and Justin. But don't worry Im keeping them updated. You just have to remember y/n you just have to! We need you to... I need you to"
Then Bucky squeezes my hand.
"You Ready kid?" He says with hopeful eyes
"You'll be here the whole time right?" I ask him
"Yea y/n, I'll be here" he nods putting his other hand on my arm
I lay down on the table
"Okay y/n. Easy anesthetic okay? So count from ten for me" Bruce says putting a mask lightly on my face
Bucky counts back from ten with me and my eyes close at 7.
I wake up slowly. I feel so tired.
"Y/n... y/n"
I hear someone's voice.
I blink rapidly as my eyes get used to the light
Finally can see clearly as dad and Steve stand over me
"Dad! Steve!" I smile
I can't remember anything accept being kidnapped. Anything after that is nothing.
"Y/n, thank god" dad scoops me into his arms
"I've missed you guys" I hold onto him as my eyes water
"We did it!" Bruce celebrates
"Where's Bucky?" I ask after letting dad go
"Right here" he says standing right on the side of me
"You stayed" I smile wiping the tears off my face
"You asked me to. Besides I wouldn't leave my goddaughter" he smiles lightly
"Where is everyone!? Can I go see them?" I ask excitedly
"Hold on y/n, you just woke up and we don't know how you're really doing" dad says
"I feel fine." I shrug
"Here" Steve hands me a gun
"Steve why are you-
I go to ask him why he is handing me a gun but then on instinct I cock it and shoot a bullseye through a window on the other side of the lab
"Oh shit" I gasp
"Language" Steve says
"Y/n you're still a super Soldier" dad shakes his head as if he can't believe it
"This is crazy..." I say quietly putting the gun down
"Welcome to the club" Bucky smiles
"Buck no" Steve can't help but chuckles
"It's okay I don't think I'm dangerous dad" I shrug
"Fine. Let's go see everybody" he nods
I get up and hug dad again
"I missed you dad" I say
"Kid you had me scared shitless. I'm so happy you're home" he sighs shakily
"Hey no tears yet! Come on they can't wait to see you!" Steve smiles
I walk out the doors and into the large common room
"Hey everyone!" Dad shouts
The minute he says hey! Peter and Harley trip over themselves to get to me
"Y/n!!!!"
They pick me up in a giant hug
"My brothers!!" I basically sob being able to remember all my memories with them
After they hug me I get a big hug from all the original avengers :) +Wanda
and then the wizard of Oz
Then Rhodey and Sam.
But I knew someone was missing..
"Where's pietro?" I ask Wanda
"He's.. in his room" she says awkwardly
"I'll um- be back" I nod with a smile
I walk to his room as fast as I can
"Pietro!" I knock
No answer.
I open his door to find that he isn't there
"Hey jarvis. Where's Pietro?" I ask
"He seems to be in your room miss y/n"
"Oh? Isn't this place brand new? I haven't even been here" I say
I walk back down the hall to where my room was before.
"Pietro" I say opening the door
I find him sitting on a nice bed with the sheets I like.
The walls are freshly painted my favorite color and pictures of my family and friends cover the walls.
There are lights hanging on the ceiling and my favorite furniture is already placed where I like it.
"Pietro" I say again
As I get closer I see him holding a picture. He's just staring at it zoned out.
"Pietro." I touch his arm and he flinches away
"Is it you?- y/n? Is it you??" He backs away from me in fear
"Yes! Yes pietro!? What's wrong!?" I hold my hands up innocently
"You remember, everything??" He asks cautiously
"Pietro it's me I'm back" I say getting closer to him
He nods slowly.
Once I get close enough I wrap my arms around him.
He hesitates before hugging me back.
Once his arms close around me he begins to sob
"Babe what's wrong??" I ask confused
"You- you really don't remember?" He asks through sobs
"No I'm sorry babe I don't- what happened??" I ask still holding onto him
"You didn't remember me- y/n you were one second away from shooting me... I could've died- and you didn't even recognize me" he sobs
"Oh god.. Pietro I am so so sorry. I'm here now it's okay" I start to cry now
It takes a while for him to calm down. I can't believe I made him go through something so traumatic..
"You know.. I did all this for you yesterday. Before I got the news" he sniffles finally letting go of me
"You did all of this?" I smile looking around my new room
"I thought if you liked it enough we could make it our room. I didn't get to put up our picture yet"
He shows me the large picture of him and I on the beach.
"It's amazing Pietro" I slowly take it from him and hang it up on the wall
"So you like it" he smiles softly
"Yeah, I really do" I smile looking at all the work he put into it
"You really scared me today" he takes a shaky breath
"Pietro-
"Just listen... it was so scary, and I thought I was going to die. So I am sorry in advance for being out of it. It's just I love you so so much y/n. And I know it wasn't you who pointed that gun at me... but it was. And it's going to take time.." he starts shaking more to the point where he stops talking
"Piet we have all the time in the world. It's okay I understand, I am so sorry you were put through this. You don't deserve this at all" I sit next to him and he leans on me
"Thank you" he nods catching his breath
"Remember. We're gonna grow old and do facemasks together" I smile and he starts to laugh
"Yes we are" he chuckles
"I love you Pietro" I smile
"And I love you y/n"
That night all of the Avengers stay the night. We watch zootopia and all is okay.
I thought I always wanted to know my biological parents.
I hated being kept in the dark about them all these years.
Now I've never hated two people more.
I know now Tony and Steve were always meant to be my parents.
And when my parents came to the door that day I should have just slammed the door in their faces.
But I'm happy to know they are in jail. And not out there ruining another child's life.
In a weird disturbing way, this brought me closure... I just wish it left the ones I love most unharmed.
What can I say.
